Amanda picks up the VIP package to Matilda with H, then gives it back to the Bankrupt next to $650. Derek gives us the fourth $3500 hit of the round, and calls R. What the [bleep] was that Round 2 I just watched?!
I actually RSTLNE'd that tough BR. Double Z's should never show up in Bonus Land.

That Chevy Sonic win and the St. Lucia trip in the Prize Puzzle round turned around what could've been a crappy episode. That was a very tough BR, but Harry saves $35,000.

Toss-Ups: What, no Landmark for #1? Central Park would fit that category the best, because, you know, it's actually land. R1: Generic puzzle is generic, and also easy. But Amanda should've spun more, because $1,700 is not that much money. R2: Wow, ANOTHER Before & After? I think we've had one every day this week... anyway, $3,500 comes around right away with just a dud T to show for it - then a second time, but only for a single and the cash quickly Bankrupted - then a third time for a pair... and you guessed it, Bankrupted - and then a FOURTH time, for a triple! This money isn't Bankrupted, but neither is it won, as Lose a Turn is to blame for its retirement. After over $21,000 in cash is bandied around, we get just a bare $2,000 and a car tag in the end. R3: Lou completes his car with the first spin of the round and never looks back, though he probably should've with the Bankrupt close by on every spin. The Chevy Spark is his, and so is the trip to St. Lucia! A good rich round to make up for the two lean ones. R4: Derek finds his way onto the board after rebounding Amanda's miss, but he's got no chance to spin - everyone will have to settle for $1,500 a letter in the speedup. That means $3,000 more for Lou, who wins going away with the trip and car in hand. Bonus: I was thinking PUZZLE out. The F and I were needed for the correct guess here... gah. Overall: Not a great episode, really just one good round. It gets a 5/10 to cap off the week.

I've heard of A,E,I,O,U and sometimes Y as a vowel, but never R. Someone must've been asleep at the wheel (get it?)

Well, in this first week from NYC, we did about all we could do- win one BR & one car. We can thank the last four bonus puzzles this week for that (although Lou really tried- I thought the first word was BUMBLE or PUZZLE; we were both all around it).

While the contestants weren't good, they weren't that bad. The Wheel was just pure shit this week. I can only hope it balances out and that we got four weeks worth of bad luck out of the way this week.
Smooth move on the BR, Harry. Give the contestants a chance.

Ampersand is getting some work for once. Trip Puzzle feels like [BoomyandorLoud]IT CAME FROM THE BROCHURE[/LoudandorBoomy]. Really. ...WINNING STRIEK? Really, Amanda? I'd post a funny picture to that effect, but I like being a member here. A mere $15,450 cash was won from Friedman tonight. It started iffy, then got okay...but now it's worse. Your optimal Bonus Round strategies for May 3, 2013:* Modern (2013): Not quite sure on the vowel -- I'll go with FZ[any]O([any]) * Classic (N/A): No such puzzles this week, ergo nothing here In the battle of CDMA versus BGHO (modern only), tonight's winner is the "take a third option" FGHI with two letters versus BGHO's one and CDMA's zero.

Round 2 tonight gave a real big, bad source to the outbreak of the ouchies!
As for Derek, with the way the Wheel treated him, I'm glad to see he won $3000 and narrowly make a week with no shut-out players. It could've easily been different had Amanda said Streak.

Well, R3 was good, and R2 was... something.
I thought the BR puzzle was WIGGLE OUT. You'd have to guess F and I to have even a remote shot at that, unless you somehow thought you were playing DPG at the time or something.
Edit: Also, whether in Price or Wheel, a Chevy Spark = $13,920.

Still a bit shocked how this week went, not even counting the BRs.
-Wheel is loose all week, yet Pat spins just short of 5k THREE times -Felt like one really bad round per game all week -Quite a few bad guesses, little fundamentals -Barely barely got a giant R3 round in this show to finally get above 20k winner - he was approaching BANKRUPT
Will the all-female Moms Week break the stretch, or is this just how it's going to go?

R2: All I can say that this round was BRUTAL.
R3: What an excellent round for Lou! That last spin of his scared me, but thank god he made it past that BANKRUPT near top dollar.
Tossup #3: Amanda should know better that STRIKE doesn't end with a K. At least Derek avoided being gooseegged.
R4: Great quick solve by Lou to wrap up the maingame.
Bonus Round: I couldn't get it either. I thought MIDDLE OUT (his first guess), BUMBLE OUT or PUZZLE OUT (Bobby McBride's guess). Harry pretty much got his way most of this week.
MY EP. RATING: 6 out of 10

MARIOGS' WHEEL DEAL: PART VBy this point, seated near me is a very nice young lady who is apparently a hardcore Wheel fan, even asking me what letters would I pick in the Bonus Round. She loves my shirt and we take a picture together. I tell her about BAV and remind her about it as we leave, but she sadly never joined AFAIK, but oh, well...In the shots she was in, you can really tell she was having a great time. Before this show, Vanna does this session's Q&A. This time, I get to ask her a question. "What's your favorite category?" "I don't think I have a favorite category. What's your favorite?" I didn't want to stall just I just blurted out "Before & After", which Vanna said was a good one. I didn't think about it at the time, but I should have said "What's That Song?, but you guys don't use that anymore!" I was surprised when a guy behind us asked "Do you support gay marriage?" Normally, when the person isn't near the mic, Vanna repeats it for the whole theatre to know what they asked. Here, she didn't (good move, IMO. It probably would have thrown some people for a loop), but she smiled and said "Absolutely!" Ampersand is getting some work for once. Except it STILL isn't getting any work in puzzles where it's needed! -_- This puzzle would have been just fine for spelling out AND, but do they realize when it's a good time or bad time to do so? Not anymore... (This is just concerning R1. R2 was necessary for & for the sake of accuracy with the L&O title.) R2 was just painful. Listening to the broadcast, it was pretty disappointing that the crowd reactions for $3,500 got smaller each time it was hit, but I know my section was cheering just fine. R3 was terrible writing because it's not a phrase, just a sentence. And, MAN! We just can't get to $5K on that Final Spin! I really didn't get the whole "LOOOOOOUUUUU" thing until just before the BR. At first I thought people were actually booing, then it sounded more like they were mooing like cows. Somebody's been looking at DPG for that puzzle. There's no excuse for them to be this stingy for a supposedly-exciting locale. When we left, I got another blinky pin, and I needed one because my mother broke the one from before. I saw Derek with his happy family and told him "Good job!" Even while we were outside walking to the subway, we could still hear several people shouting "LOOOOOUUU!" It was about 9:30 by now, and we really had to get home. I hadn't eaten all day since I had been out for almost the whole afternoon and evening and underestimated how long everything would take. I didn't get to eat anything until around 11 PM when we stopped at the local Burger King on the drive home. I needed to get some sleep because I would be going back the next day for Mom's Week! I was glad I went to both sessions, but it was pretty overwhelming. I don't think I would have wanted to sit through a sixth. That day was one of the most fun days I've ever had. Any true Wheel fan absolutely must make an effort to go to a taping. You'll learn a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff and earn a new respect for how hard the staff works, plus you get to see the full raw episode months in advance!

I would've said "Megaword, because there were usually a lot of null cycles that weren't cut for time." or, if I wanted to be particularly nasty, "Slang, because it began your practice of using outdated or made-up crap in an attempt to look "hip" and "cool"." If I wanted to be a jerk, I could say "Rock On!, because Charlie O'Donnell got to say it until its last few uses, when you guys dubbed him over with Pat saying it normally."
