So, what do the denominations on the wheel represent? Points? Euros?
What do the 1/2 and x2 spaces do? (I think I get the general idea... maybe)
And what are the special wedges, and what are their respective rounds?

Spain's Wheel of Fortune uses Euros, not points. X2 and 1/2 spaces respectively doubles and cuts the players' score in half when the correct letter is called. You can find out more about the special wedges on the Spain section at: wheeloffortunehistory.wikia.com/wiki/International_versions. The round structure are random, like the placements for the special wedges. |

To be fair, Spain doesn't have nearly as many people, so it's probably harder to earn advertising revenue. You'd probably have to divide the wheel values of the Rolf Benirschke daytime era by 5 to consider what would be a high budget (and the debut of the Bob Goen era for a low one).
Converted to...
Round 1: $20-$150 for Rolf, $10-$100 for Bob (top-dollar values adjacent to BANKRUPT).
Round 4: $40-$400 for Rolf, $20-$250 for Bob ($300 on Rolf's wheel adjacent to BANKRUPT).

Now if there's any comfort for you, they did have a nighttime version a couple years ago called "La Ruleta de la Suerte Premium."
Here's an episode of Spain's nighttime version, from July 28, 2011. Tell me what you think of the higher values, normally as low as 100 euros and as high as 800 euros. Oh, and winners come back as champs.

Even though the special wedges placements are random, I'll list their usual current placements:
The special wedges are usually placed: "Ayuda Final" on the "1/2" wedge, the "?" wedge on 200, Comodin (Free Spin) on 25, Doble Letra on the "X2" wedge; Gran Premio on 75 and 50, Premio on 50, and Me lo Quedo on 25.
The Bote wedge is usually placed on 150 in one round, and the Bankrupt/1000/Bankrupt wedge usually lies on that purple spot on one other round.

The wheel layout of our version changes very frequently: usually it's changed every month or two months. The layout you have posted has spent about three-four months, it has been a rare case. The current layout is:

Yeah, all in "La ruleta de la suerte" is a bit random... But I like it, it gives a bit of unpredictability to every episode.

Yes, except instead of having to land on it, it's a removable wedge that you can turn in during a turn to steal anyone's cash AND extra wedges (I presume all extra wedges, including Comodin [Free Spin] and such). I saw an episode where a contestant picked up one half of the Gran Premio (Spain's version of 1/2 Car) while the player next to them already had the other half. Normally in this situation, the host will walk over and immediately take away the two halves since the prize is now impossible to win and the halves are NOT replaced on the Wheel like they are in the American version (Javi, are any of the "extra wedges" taken away on Bankrupts besides the regular Premio? I know Doble Letra and Ayuda Final are not). However, the host pointed out that the contestant had the Me Lo Quedo wedge, which they used on the next turn to steal the other half and eventually solve for the full Gran Premio.
Javi, do you have any idea what the most won in a single round was? I saw a clip on YouTube of an episode where a woman called a wrong letter with two blanks left after amassing over 12,000 Euros thanks to calling 6 R's on the Oreo 1000 wedge (which is a multipliable cash wedge and not a bonus prize like the US $10K wedge was), then hitting X2. I imagine nobody has ever surpassed five digits in one round before considering the low amounts on the Wheel. My jaw dropped when I first saw her scoreboard.

Mario, Quiebra only removes Premio, Gran Premio (when the two halves had been picked up: although two contestants have each other a half, if anyone lands on Quiebra, the two wedges are lost) and sponsored prizes, if there is any at the wheel.
On the other hand, I don't remember exactly what has been the record on a single round, but a year ago (January 15, 2013) a contestant stole €8,025 with Me lo Quedo from another contestant. Apart from being the most stolen with this wedge, I don't remember any episode with a higher winning on a round (at the regular version, La Ruleta de la Suerte Premium gave us rounds with higher winnings).
And yeah, I watched that episode in "live", and it has been the first (and the only) time a contestant has reached the five digits. When she failed I wanted to throw away the TV by the window xD

Yes, the 1000 IS multipliable. I said what happened above. She called the 6 R's on the 1000, then hit X2 later on, according to another YouTube user who uploaded a video of the same moment. Usually, when the 1000 is hit, the audience will give a standing ovation, and will usually boo if the player calls a wrong letter.

Yes, that was exactly what happened. There have been some contestants who found 6 letters at €1,000, but anyone except Blanca at this time has overpassed the €10,000 in a round (although she didn't solve) at this time without going to the Bonus Round (and overpass the €10,000 at the end of the show is difficult, because of the average of cash which contestants earn to go to the BR is about €2,000-€3,000 and there are only one €7,000 and €8,000 envelopes at the Bonus Wheel).
