This week is a joke... -_- That BR was not going to be won anyway, but the worst mistake of tonight was that the yellow team picked the (single) first letter of the puzzle on $3500 instead of realizing there was a multiple! What is with people doing this so much?! And these ladies really need to improve their spinning. This is the third episode in a row where a team started a round with the Bankrupt by $650. I felt bad for the blue team because they played well whenever they actually did get to play.

It almost feels like this week is a parody of the show, only it's actually happening in reality before our very eyes.

I think this week became a joke when we realized this season has 32 freaking team episodes.
Also, what is this now, 150 shows (I lost track; History Wiki says 142) without either Big One being hit in the Bonus Round? I'm not even sure what percentage of odds we're up to at this point...

You were right, that BR was nearly impossible. Even with JACU up, I had no idea what the heck the top word was. "Jacuvoi? Jacu…" Stupid double Z's. And it's not like I use the word jacuzzi anyway. I just call it a spa.

Mario I have to agree with you on all sides. You remember Dads & Grads 2010? It seems that every time we get a new theme, it's nearly a shutout or it is one.

Sigh, another reason why I see WoF may currently be in a dork age. First lettered text, and now was that a tattoo that I saw Michelle waring on her arm?
Another win as a result of an inflated prize puzzle? Check.
A bonus puzzle that was designed for even the smartest players on this board to miss? Check.
A pretty predictable show with relatively few spins (Just 24 last night)? Check.
Multiple repeated puzzles that are unoriginal? Check.
Yep, that was show #150 without a bonus hit. I hope that it isn't rigged where they only include the Million envelope and secretly hide the $100,000 envelope when there's no Million Wedge to the Bonus Round, feeling that there's not much of a budget (Pat missing the $5,000 more than ever on the final spin being another clue).
The only things that saves this show from failure is that the puzzles tonight weren't overly themed for the week, the first round was perfect, and the Bankrupt losses weren't too huge.

JACUZZI BUBBLES as a BR puzzle? It's a very difficult puzzle, at least if you are not Emil Anybody picks J or Z in the BR, and I don't know if knowing BUBBLES anyone could guess JACUZZI.

Is it true that the location of the $100,000 envelope is shown to the studio audience after the game is over? I think someone posted that somewhere.

mechamind: This is not true. The only time they ever show additional envelopes on-camera or off is when the million is in play but not hit, and they showed all the envelopes to the audience after Autumn won the million. Of course, they used to show the $100K when it was one space adjacent, but I imagine they stopped doing this for good. genius2751: I'm sure I've seen it, but I don't remember it very well, and I guess I should be glad I don't. pannoni1: There's no easy way to say this, but Pat's getting old. Unless they oil the Wheel a lot more than usual, he's not going to be hitting $5,000 on the Final Spin on a full R4 Speed-Up anymore, and it's no surprise that every episode this week has had one of those. Stupid long interviews... The red arrow needs to be around Lose a Turn for him to make it around. The Wheel appears to be becoming heavier as the seasons progress, too. In the last NYC show, he managed to make it all the way back around to the orange $300, but I noticed the Wheel was way looser than usual for that remote, probably because of its reassembly. I see nothing wrong with visible tattoos, as long as they're appropriate. Not the first time I've seen them on the show, either. Also, if a puzzle was part of a former B&A or SN, I wouldn't count that as a repeat. I would only count repeats as verbatim, or substituting one part of a B&A/SN, or changing 1-2 words of a former Prize Puzzle (like the many "BASKING...SUN(SHINE)" examples). And I disagree about the theme-ing. It was pretty blatant tonight (TU2, R1, R2, TU3, R4), though oddly, TU2 was more themed than TU1 was.

TU1: Yay more theming! Guess that's expected, but this one's kind of odd given likely all three teams likely knew each other prior to the site. Easily before them. TU2: Only slightly better than 1/500 chance the letters would come up how they did, filling out BEAUTY before any of PARLOR. Shamefully only tied the team here, but I got it, no issues.
R1: Well, hey, there's some solid gameplay this week, it's been awhile. Given all these 36ish spin powers, how have there been no 1/2 cars won this week? R2: I get the nerves, but why the L there? Yikes. Back to the less-than-great play again, sigh. Also, audience, gosh you were all but invisible this taping, and awful. Didn't have the first part of it, but apparently similar usage of such a phrase roots back to MacBeth, oddly enough.
How was that retro not solved? Geez, MAGIC HAND of 1991, oy vey.
R3: Not a bad PP, writing wise. I mean, it's obvious, and I have to deduct a little there, but nothing overly needlessly superfluously unnecessary. Too bad the trip was over priced, and once again impacted the overall winner.
TU3: Sex and the City puzzle was long overdue. Sad that these puzzles are all just female stereotypes, it's honestly a laugh to the face of women's rights on some of these, sigh...
R4: Had this with S, surprised this too this long to solve. Honestly, this wouldn't be a bad easy-medium BR puzzle, either. Also, BACHELOR, look at your spaces, ladies...
BR: Honestly, their picks were good enough to get me this, so pannoni, not quite! Helps I had GIGGLES with RSTLNE, so that got me thinking the three multiples in word two. Once I had BUBBLES, not many words I know of end in I, have a C, and ultimately, go with the theme just a bit, also was thinking obscure letter, after quickly shifting through WKY with RSTLNE. Amazed I got this, my mind just wanted catch up with Emil from my couch, I think, haha. It's also a puzzle (well, JACUZZI at least) my mother and I would sometimes give each other in hangman, if we wanted to be nasty. That said, I've got a strong feeling JACUZZI itself was used in the mid 90s, it rings a distant bell not thought of in about 20 some years.
P&V chat: Best part of the week so far, throughout, Pat's been killing it. Wish we could see this side of him more in this segment.
Be sure to root on Danielle and Andrea tonight, as I auditioned with them--very nice folks, told me out of nowhere I was like a lock to get on, when I exited the ballroom. Told them the same, they will have a lot of energy, and a good dynamic.

I will be very happy if SOMEONE saves them from a shutout. New themes that were initially bad:
Going Green 2008 (S25, nearly a shutout) Pet Lovers 2008 (S25, nearly a shutout) Dads & Grads 2008 (S25, win on Monday, losses everywhere else) Dad's & Grads 2010 (S27, shutout) Sandals Romance 2012 (S29, very average maingames every night) Sandals Romance 2013 (S30, nearly a shutout) Girlfriend Getaways 2014 (S30...shutout?)

Another thing most, if not all, of us here have to keep in mind--from an advertiser's perspective, we weren't supposed to like this week. I'd wager good money everyone who's posted in this thread so far, except for Prizes, don't fall within the desired demographic this week was clearly trying to attract. But that still doesn't excuse poor gameplay. This BR really couldn't be helped because the letters just weren't there, but I've had some moments from earlier in the week during the maingame where I've literally shouted "NO!" at the TV. April 28 can't get here soon enough...

The Wheel appears to be becoming heavier as the seasons progress, too. That's probably because somebody thought the Wheel needed to weigh over 2,000 pounds. Seriously, why? I'm pretty sure it didn't weigh anywhere near that much for most of the first 25 years, and most of the weight was likely on the contestant displays, arrows, flippers, and (later on) adjusting platforms -- and I'm pretty sure the contestant area used to be a separate thing from the Wheel itself. Sad that these puzzles are all just female stereotypes, it's honestly a laugh to the face of women's rights on some of these, sigh... ...Then what does that say of Friedman, the guy who approves these things for tapings? This can't be simple trolling by him, can it?

Because they don't want to sacrifice precious seconds by waiting too long for the Wheel to slow down. Their time constraints these days aren't as long as they used to be and they still need to edit down the time it takes for the Wheel to stop, especially when stronger people spin. I mean, in a 1980's episode, a spin might take about 5-6 seconds, but in a 2010's episode, only about 3-4, so when the spins add up, that shaves off quite a bit of time. Time is the official reason that the Wheel is so heavy.
