I found out my tape date the same time I found out I was picked to be on the show (only 6 days after my final audition!). I was surprised because the CC's said we'd get a letter, but I ended up getting an e-mail from Gary.
Lucky you! They must have liked you right away. The standard procedure is two weeks for a letter, unless they want to use you right away (or so it seems). So, to get an e-mail six days after the audition is highly unusual, but not unheard of. The CC's also call later in the day, after you get your e-mail and have had enough time to sufficiently recover from the shock.
I was an exception, Gary called me before I got the email. I was driving at the time and I think I set a record time to pull over and answer the phone when I saw the caller ID show "Culver City, CA" (I was next to a strip mall, so I immediately drove into the first parking spot I could find since I knew I would be too distracted talking to him to pay attention to the road).

Was not called. Got the email yesterday but didn't see until this morning. The email said they would assume I was unavailable if I didn't email or call THEM by 6pm today. I emailed Jackie and she said she will call on Monday.

No call yet. But I got an email back from Jackie. They're taping today so she said she'd get back to me next week too unless I had any questions that couldn't wait. So far everyone has been really accommodating!
Nearly half a year for me. Went to the Wheelmobile auditions in Denver on May 9, 2015. Got the e-mail for the invitation to the final auditions during my trip to the Northwestern part of the United States of America, along with the Western part of Canada, around August. Went to the final auditions on September 1, 2015 and it took me almost a month to get that letter of acceptance. Leap Day 2016 was when I got the e-mail for the taping date and headed off to California three days prior to taping my game, which was on Saint Patrick's Day. In other words, it took me about five to six months to get on the real show.
After a long 28 years, my childhood dream finally came true! Thanks, Wheel Of Fortune! Proud to be the 5th highest scoring winner for the Denver games!
