I kept thinking the second word in the BR was ADJECTIVE. I wasn't thinking OBJECTIVE at all.
This was a weird BR.

I may need to go back and watch again since I'm forgetting the details of some parts of tonight.
I have to say I thought the set looked just awesome. And the monorail! How cool was that seeing it actually move?! (Though the waving from the train at the end of the episode I could've done without haha)
The bonus round puzzle was a bit funky... I was thinking "OUR DIRECTIVE" (obviously the R would've been there) but I couldn't come up with OBJECTIVE. Nice episode to start the week!

The set WAS just awesome. I attended the afternoon tapings (it taped the day before college week), so unfortunately I didn't get to see ladiluv , but I did find out from another Seattle-weeker how she did. (He ended up sitting next to me in the audience after his game and gave me advice I already knew from this board. But hello if you're out there tallish dude in the blue shirt that played 5th I think? ) They did do a reshoot because the monorail wasn't working in one of the openings. And yeah, I didn't see that waving from the train in-studio. I agree with you Paul. WOO SAMANTHA YOU WERE GREAT!!! I did not get that bonus round either! Kept thinking "directive" as well like cowheelfan but of course it didn't fit. Wondering how you went about your bonus round choices Samantha? And if you intentionally lost the 3rd toss up because you were so far ahead? Congrats on your big win!! It always sucks to see someone go home with the "pity 1k," but oh well I guess that's how it goes sometimes. Seriously though, watching Bankrupts and lose a turns get me a lot more now. I haven't really been making it a point to watch lately

Red contestant was a great player - made logical choices in calling letters, didn't rush too quickly between spin turns, and solved them successfully. Everything she won was well-deserved.
In the Bonus Round, I feel she knew there was going to be an 'O' so decided to choose a different vowel instead to fill in. Okay thinking, but I guess it wasn't good enough without that 'B'. Good try still.

Samantha, you made the start to Seattle Week a pretty good one!
I wish you went for more multiples (especially in Rounds 1 and 3), but you earned some nice dough from those puzzles, especially that Fiesta!
I'll probably learn a lot from these special weeks, because I didn't think that first Toss-Up would be DOWNTOWN WATERFRONT.
I thought Trudy would win something, but it just didn't happen - bad luck. She and Felicia played better than their scores indicated.
My best guess in the Bonus Round was PAR OBJECTIVE; the O was the hot vowel here. Can't complain when you won more than what you lost.
My rating: Low 7
Enjoy your winnings, Samantha!

That's two BRs in a row that have made me angry. OUR? Really?
Wow, hats off to Samantha for a game Wheel-y well played!
Finally, I'm a bit surprised that TU1 was not something more unique to Seattle. Same with R4 as GOLDFINCHES are not only common in the Pacific Northwest, but in other parts of the country as well.

I love the episode breakdowns, because I remembered my taping a bit differently than it happened. Genius, I wish I would have called more multipes as well, but I used the "don't look at the wheel approach". I was so focused on using my time to study the puzzleboard, that I had no idea what I landed on, or how much was in my bank. I glanced at the bank for the first time after the prize puzzle. In hindsight, I guess this method helped me play more conservatively than I set out to play. One of my pet peeves while watching at home is contestants leaving money on the board; however, we all know it's different when playing the real thing! I simply kept spinning until I knew the puzzle, lol.
The first toss-up wasn't what I was expecting. I studied places, monuments, and other themes of Seattle (Puget Sound!!), so I was surprised the puzzle was so generic. Toss-up 2, I felt, was meant for me. I arrived in L.A., the night before my taping, devoid of a GARMENT BAG. I was stressing out that I didn't have one to carry my extra outfit in. I went to a couple different stores searching for a GARMENT BAG, but couldn't find one. Finally, at about 11pm my husband ordered me (nicely) to forget about the GARMENT BAG and get some sleep! I'm glad a GARMENT BAG was still on my mind the next day!!
I felt comfortable with Round 1's category. Playing the mobile game for months on end taught me that a four-letter word in the Food & Drink category was probably 'with', so I started there. FISH & CHIPS WITH TARTAR SAUCE is also one of the puzzles in the mobile game, and I must have solved it a least a dozen times!!
I had no recollection of solving Round 2's puzzle,so that was a pleasant surprise to see. For whatever reason, I completely blocked it out, haha. In my mind, I landed on both 1/2 cars in Round 3.
I hoped and prayed that I would get a chance at the prize puzzle, and when Trudy gave up control, I knew I had a chance! My only strategy was to solve as soon as I knew it. I was so nervous while solving because I didn't want to mix up any words. Winning the car and trip was more than I dreamed of, and though it didn't show, I lost all control right there!! My focus was gone, and I was in a constant state of "did that just happen?"
I knew the third toss-up about a 1/2 second too late. Felicia was really good with the toss-ups. The speed up round was interesting to watch. During our taping, they stopped everything and we had to turn away from the puzzle because, I believe, Felicia's score was incorrect. While we were turned away from the puzzle (after I'd lost control) Felicia stated she'd called out a C, so that's where they would pick up taping again. I don't remember her calling the C. Then again, my memory of the day was spotty at best. I hoped to get another shot at it, but Felicia solved it first. She was a really good player.
Oh, the bonus round. My heart sank when I saw the category. I didn't have anything to help narrow my thinking. I didn't have a strategy for the BR, and in hindsight I wished I took at few minutes to think through my letters. After seeing the puzzle, I knew I didn't want to call A or E. I knew "I" was in the puzzle, and in the heat of the moment, I called it out. For the past two months, I've been thinking about that O. I couldn't get DETECTIVE out of my head, even though I knew that couldn't be right. Ten seconds sure does go by awfully quickly!!
I will never forget OUR OBJECTIVE for the rest of my life, but I am at peace with it now, haha. I am just so thankful I got to experience this and thst Wheel has allowed me to meet some great people!

The Seattle set looks wonderful, but I'm more excited about next week's setting, so don't blame me for hometown pride. Poor Trudy ended up having some bad luck on the wheel, which I felt really sorry for her. Anyways, congratulations on your $35,000+ victory, ladiluv!

Ladiluv-- You were just great! You looked cool, calm, and collected up there!
In regards to your second tossup, it is amazing how things that happen in the days leading up to your taping can end up popping up during your taping! I love the fact you were obsessing over a garment bag and then BAM! Just works out that way sometimes! (For the record, I just carried my clothes in on a hanger... No garment bag for me haha)
I'm glad you're at peace with the bonus round-- you have nothing to hang your head about! Sort of a strange puzzle there, and besides, you played a great game as it is! Congratulations on all of your winnings and the new car! You did great!

From now on I think we all need to look out for MY, HIS, HER, THEIR, OUR, & YOUR in the BR. They seem to be on a roll with pronouns.
Remember YOUR POCKETBOOK? LOL

ladiluv: Do you remember anything going wrong in the Speed-Up? During the speed-up round, I remember losing control on the bad A, Felicia gained control, and then I remember having to turn away from the puzzle. They explained there was something wrong with one of the scores(Felicia's). As they explained what would happen after we turned around, Felicia stated she called a "C" before they cut taping. I don't remember her calling a C. I asked my husband if he remembered, but he couldn't hear over people yelling "Cut". I'm not saying she didn't, but it bugs me that I don't remember her doing so. Plus, I'm sure they had someone check the tape....right?

^ She did indeed call a C, as indicated in the recap. I noticed when watching the episode that the closeup shot of the Final Spin showed a different wedge than the one that was actually hit on the spin (you can tell when comparing it to the wide shot), so I was curious if something got edited there that required a different closeup shot.

I think the question is if she called the C before taping stopped. But, it wouldn't have mattered right because we can assume she would have called it once turned back around? Or, was the point that you all would have had more time to think about the puzzle with the stop in tape? Regardless, it all worked out for you anyway!
And funny you say how you can't remember/your husband couldn't hear. I only spun 4 times and I didn't remember half of them until I watched. And I didn't remember half of the puzzles either. It's such a whirlwind being up there. And I'm not surprised your husband couldn't hear anything. When I said, "no I hate you now" to Pat Sajak, apparently all the laughter was dubbed in because my mom said the studio was dead silent and they thought I was serious. She (and I assume others) didn't hear the first part of his question about "I hope you know I was just kidding, right" or whatever. Doesn't help they were seated all the way house left and just watched the monitors anyway.

I think the question is if she called the C before taping stopped. That's exactly right Kevin. I couldn't remember if it was called before taping stopped. Like you you said, it all worked out in the end. Yes, they do an amazing job with editing.
