My heart broke when Mary, also known as tuffy, crashed on the EXPRESS, but I'm glad she took home $10,350, along with Niket for getting on the board with $3,000 and Steph for winning $45,000 in the bonus round. I don't want to saying anything more about tomorrow night's game, but I do want to point out a lifelong lesson in the game show business: Don't ever call someone out as your worst enemy or karma will teach you a lesson.

Gotta admit, this episode was pretty average until the latter part.
Mary, you were on such a roll early on! A shame that L cost you your sweep and essentially the game on the Express. Great job winning over $10,000.
Steph sure made a very nice comeback, and I'm glad Niket finally broke through after not having much of a shot.
Wow - I sure thought the Prize Puzzle trip would be Hawaii. Going back to COCONUT BANANA PANCAKES (February 12), I learned that's actually a Latin American food. Are the food items in tonight's puzzle a Caribbean specialty?
I had the Round 1 puzzle with just the N's, by the way. Just curious, Mary - was that Round 2 puzzle trouble or were you just gambling?
I thought the Bonus Puzzle was I AM PUZZLED, and I thought Steph would talk it out - but I didn't expect her to solve that one so quickly and win $45,000! Talk about coming from behind! Her reaction and her chat with Pat about Dr. Phil was hilarious.
My rating: Low 7
Enjoy your winnings, Mary!

tuffy YOU WERE AWESOME! You were a FUN contestant to watch from start to finish. Loved your enthusiasm and how expressive you were, not to mention your excellent game play and all the money you racked up! Congrats and enjoy your winnings and your memories from playing the BEST GAME EVER! And now for my random thoughts... Was impressed by Mary's TU2 solve. She rang in before the U appeared and already knew it. Thought I had R1 after Mary's N call, certain it was THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA. But then she proved me wrong after buying the A. Mary did excellent work figuring out that R2 puzzle. Wondering after which letter call did the light bulb go off for her. Mary did excellent work riding the Express in R3 too in spite of the end result. Wondering if she got hung up as I did on that last word since I've always spelled it MANGOS. And in case you're wondering: www.quora.com/Which-is-the-preferred-plural-of-mango-mangoes-or-mangos-WhyMy heart broke in R5 when I saw the light bulb go off for Mary during the Speed-Up but Niket snagged it before she could and advance to the BR. At least Niket avoided the Pity $1K. My first guess for the BR with all letters revealed was I AM DAZZLED. Suspect if Steph hadn't solved so quickly I might've gotten it too. Oh, and I'm still cracking up thinking about the Dr. Phil confusion.

Some of my thoughts:
Mary was off to a rip roaring start with those tossup solves! I knew she'd be a formidable player!
I enjoyed Steph's Pat Chat since I also am into climbing the 14ers! We chatted briefly about that on the shuttle ride over to the studio. I like how Pat then asked Niket as a follow up "Do you know how many 14ers there are in Denver/Colorado?"
Round 2 really threw me for a loop, both in studio and then watching it again tonight! When I first saw it I was thinking "...SHOPPING Block Party?" I was wondering to myself if a SHOPPING BLOCK was a term for a shopping center area that I had never heard before. I leaned in to one of my fellow contestants and whispered: "What the heck is a shopping block?!" haha! Fortunately for Mary, she did not go that route and had a nice solve with those Cs at the end! What's funny is that tonight, I made the same mistake while watching and turned to my friend and said "What IS a shopping block?!" And then the memories came flooding back haha!
When Mary hit the Express, I know I was curious to see if we were going to be applauding or not (anyone else remember the episode this season where Pat was saying "We need absolute silence for this!") But we ended up clapping! Some of us in the contestant section were also talking about the MANGOS versus MANGOES spelling... I did look up the spelling and looks like both are accepted. So bummed on Mary's behalf to see the crash happen, but I think it's safe to say that with that high five as Steph solved, Mary is the definition of a GREAT SPORT! Steph was sneaking aboard the caboose indeed!
Tossup 3 was close for everybody... looks like everyone buzzed in right at the same moment!
Good puzzle for Steph to get in R4 since she climbs mountains!
Mary: It looks like (having watched it back!) you had the puzzle after Steph had called the D judging by the reaction. Glad Niket got on the board, but of course you were close to getting that puzzle yourself!
I had forgotten about the Dr. Phil exchange-- too good! And someone next to me had thought DAZZLED as well, Eugene... I think Liz? So that was great to see Steph immediately say BAFFLED! I remember being confused by what Pat was saying at first and then BAM! Puzzle board lights up! Great solve and great reaction on Steph's part!
I can attest to the fact that Mary has a great group of friends around her... I'm not sure I can remember the last time I had that much fun watching an episode of "Wheel"! Their reactions were awesome!
Mary: You were just awesome! Congratulations on having played & solved on America's Game!

Excellent job, Tuffy! (care to explain the backstory behind the username? It's cute. ) You were on a roll in the beginning. I could tell that you knew the Speed-Up after the D was revealed, as an expert in "it's not my turn but I know it" reactions. I was really hoping it would get back to you so you could call the P's and solve, but it was nice to see Niket get something in the end. You seemed very happy for him. Since Wheel has such tough BR's all the time, I've been overthinking them lately. The other day when the puzzle was "FINAL APPROVAL", I was thinking "VINYL" for the first word with RSTLNE after that tough "VINYL BOOTH" puzzle not too long ago. I was confident on "I AM PUZZLED" with RSTLNE and knew that it wasn't getting won. Then I got it with the A's but still figured it wasn't getting won... and it was! And for $45K! Way to go, Steph! Can't wait for Eugene Yu's episode tonight, even though I already saw some fairly spoiler-y clips on KDVR's site.

AHHHH you were so awesome tuffy! I was at the gym watching your episode, and I forgot my head phones so I had to watch with closed captions unfortunately. BUT, you were so expressive with your face (like someone else I know ) that I felt like I could still hear you! Excellent job and congrats!! You were a joy to watch!

I saw the rerun, and I saw a glitch in R2. It showed the full word PARTY before it was actually revealed.

Looks like there was a hiccup in the video feed. After Red asked to buy an E, the image jump cut to Vanna revealing the G, which was actually much later in the round, but the audio was correct with Pat saying that there was no E. Did this not happen during the original airing? www.clippituser.tv/c/gmpkqq
