Here is yet another recap from the fabulous days of 1986. Although this is a daytime episode, I have to say that this is the weirdest show I have ever seen.
Look at this studio, filled with glamorous prizes! Filled with exciting merchandise, including a $3,000 cash jackpot! This beautiful $11,000 guest room! These elegant $5,500 ruby and diamond ear clips! And, this handsome low-top desk and chair! Over $66,000 just waiting to be won on Wheel of Fortune! And now, here's your host: Pat Sajak!
Here are today's contestants!
Mike Dorlando is from Warm, RD. Does counseling and selling in insurance. Has a wife, three children, and four grandchildren. (Happy birthday to his granddaughter AND wife!)
Jill Colgan is from Mililani, HI. Was a cashier, but then moved. Married five months ago to Garrian (not here),
Dawn Jones is from Mariana, GA. Won a car and other stuff yesterday, totaling $14,716.
Round 1: Person
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
Mike starts out with $600 from a T, but duds on $300 with an S. ($600 at risk)
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ T _ _
Jill gets $1,000 from 2 R's on $500, $400 from 2 N's on $200, but duds with a bad O purchase. ($1,150 at risk)
_ _ R _ _ _ N
_ _ N T _ R
Dawn duds with a W on $500.
Mike duds on an L on $100 near Free Spin. ($600 at risk)
Jill lands on the same $100, but duds with a C. (EDITORS!) ($1,150 at risk.)
Dawn duds on an M on $200.
Mike gains $250 from a B, buys one E, gets a G on the $100 past $500, lands on $200... and calls an A. That causes him to lose his turn. ($700 at risk)
B _ R G _ _ N
_ _ N T _ R
Jill gets an H on $150. No more consonant boops!
B _ R G _ _ N
H _ N T _ R
For $1,300, Jill is going to have to be a BARGAIN HUNTER if she wants good loot. With that, she buys...
-$450|Vacuum Cleaner (Eureka, 4.3 peak hp)|$850 left
-$818|Washer & Drier (Gibson)|$32 left => Gift Certificate I can't make out to where under the audio quality. My sincere apologies.
Round 1 Totals
Mike: none
Jill: $1,300
Dawn: none
Round 1 Events
Mike: Dud S, L, calling an A at the wrong time, $700 unclaimed.
Jill: Dud O, C.
Dawn: Dud W, M.
Round 2: Phrase
_ _ _ / _ / _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Jill duds on an N on $250.
Dawn hits the same $250 right before the BANKRUPT for a T, lands on it again for an S, but duds with an R on $550 ($500 at risk)
S _ T / _ / _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Mike nets $400 from an L, but duplicates the N on $500. ($400 at risk)
S _ T / _ / _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ L _
Jill hits that BANKRUPT everyone was dancing around.
Dawn buys 3 E's and 2 A's, $900 from an M, and... everyone is forced to turn around as we cut to a commercial break.
S E T / A / _ _ _ _
E _ A M _ L E
Dawn continues by spinning $200 for a P, and goes for a solve.
S E T / A / _ _ _ _
E _ A M P L E
Trust me, going to commercial one letter call away from a solve isn't how you SET A GOOD EXAMPLE. However, it nets Dawn $1,100, which she uses to buy...
-$1100|Brash Sheval Mirror (Wesley Allen's)|$0 left
Round 2 Totals
Mike: none
Jill: $1,300
Dawn: $1,100
Round 2 Events
Mike: Duplicate N, $400 unclaimed.

_ _ R T _ _ A _
Dawn gets $1,000 from 2 H's on $500, but hits BANKRUPT again. ($1,000 lost)
Clang-clang! Clang-clang!
That sound means that time is running out. Vowels worth nothing, consonants worth: $500.
_ _ E E N
E L _ A _ E T H ' S
_ _ R T H _ A _
$800|$550|$0.
Mike: A "quee" please. I MEAN Q! (Pat states that the first letter they heard was a Q, so it's fine for 1 Q.)
Q _ E E N
E L _ A _ E T H ' S
_ _ R T H _ A _
I'm curious if they themed this puzzle. Anyways, QUEEN ELIZABETH'S BIRTHDAY gets Mike some $1,300 birthday cash. With that, he buys...
-$731|San Francisco Weekend (Trip for 2, Holiday Lodge)|$569 left
-$400|Carpeting (Westpoint Pepperell)|$169 left
-$150|Chocolates (Double Truffle Chocolates of Beverly Hills)(Pat jokes that he has no choice)|$19 left => Gift Certificate
FINAL TOTALS:
Mike: $1,300 ??
Jill: $1,300 ??
Dawn: $1,100 ( 2-day total of $15,816, so far)
WE HAVE A TIE. I REPEAT, WE HAVE A TIE. No one knows what to do.
Because of this... the rules say that all three come back tomorrow and continue the game. So, this is the first time ever I don't have to recap a bonus round.
Penalty Box:
BANKRUPTS: 3
LOSE A TURNS: 1
Duds: 9
Mike: Calling an A outside of a purchase in R1, and then a duplicate N in R2. (And then saying "Quee" instead of a Q in Round 3)
Unclaimed Cash: $1,650
BANKRUPT trash: $2,100
My rating: If the game had stopped right here, I'm leaning toward a 6. Mike was just all over the place, however he seemed to really enjoy his time on screen. However, this might be the first time there was ever a tie, so... I really don't know what to say here. I guess thanks to the person who provided the episode that made this recap possible, Chris Bryant of Dailymotion. But besides that, I have no clue on how to feel.
Edit: Ay... I get the thread with a number of 10,000! (The actual number that I can see with quick math is around 7614, but still.)
