March 11, 2008 Recap

When I saw that there was a video of this episode, I really wanted to do a recap, but then, I spent the entire day at Disney World (which surprisingly didn’t rain throughout the day), so that plan was a no-no. 

The first two two fossils were familiar.  Both were puzzles that I faced in the Free Play app. I expected a THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX OF_____ puzzle sometime during the episode. 

Just when we thought Bill was going to dominate, Allison comes through the later rounds with a huge haul in R2 and a quick solve in the next one (which probably reminded me to listen to more Beatles). 

So Allison’s a really good player this episode as she made quick work in R4 as well. The duds in R5 (most) were baffling to say the least. 

I was was expecting a 5k hit in the FS since everyone was winning so big and we get one!  And it makes all of the three players earn themselves a nice chunk of change. 

The BR, though, THAT was painful.  I was expecting that since WayoshiM and Andy Nguyen spoiled it for me, but actually watching the moment was so sad. To get the right answer a nanosecond after the buzzer compounded by a 100k loss was brutally heartbreaking. And it seemed like that was possibly the biggest reaction you could get to such loss (it’s a reaction that you’d expect for a Million Dollar Loss).

Speaking about the audience, it was one of the better ones this season. There should’ve been reactions to the Jackpot and the other 3,500 hit, but it seemed to favor our champ more. Heck, the freakin prize wedge got a reaction!

And Pat made some funny jokes along the way, such as the weather on the video board as well as telling Bill that he was going to Lake Lotawana for the PP (the latter was just pure gold).

So overall, it was a really great episode that had a really disastrous end. I’ll spot it at a B-.

PS: If your reading this thread Allison, I am so sorry at what happened at the end of the episode. I do hope that you can join the boardies though.
