KABC ran Holey Moley and To Tell the Truth, and then cut to the end of round 1 at around 10:06 PT. Listings still have this marked as Jeopardy!

^ How much you want to bet they swapped them on purpose so that J! could air in full? 😑

Oh, they 100% did, since on KXTV, they played Jeopardy! in full, and then had the same "return to regularly scheduled programming" bumper leading to Wheel getting interrupted in the same place. That sucks, since I wanted to record these episodes as test footage, but life moves on.

All of the following stations aired Jeopardy! in full from roughly 10:10-10:40 PM, then JIP'd Wheel at the end of R1 at the earliest: - KSBY - San Luis Obispo, CA
- KLAS - Las Vegas, NV
- KHQ - Spokane, WA
- KFSN - Fresno, CA
- KXTV - Sacramento, CA
- KGO - San Francisco, CA
- KATU - Portland, OR
These stations did air Wheel in full starting from 10:30 and opted not to delay J!:
- KBAK - Bakersfield, CA
- KSBW - Monterey, CA
- KVAL - Eugene, OR
- KYUR - Alaska? (I think? I was going through them so quickly but I believe they were on FJ! while most of the others were on DJ!)
KABC does have Wheel listed first on their website, so it probably wasn't an on-the-spot swap. The worst part? None of the stations that aired Wheel at 10:00 opted to start it from the beginning (although I do not have access to KAEF in Eureka, so I couldn't check for sure on that one). You cannot deny the double standard here. Period. I'm really, really worried for Wheel's future at this point. If it weren't for CBS TVD continuing Roger King's wish of forcing stations to air it in the pre-primetime hour, Wheel would probably have permanent graveyard slots in some markets by now.

WFTV - ORLANDO, FLORIDA What a surprise... The coverage of the Florida primary tonight was reduced from 60 minutes to 30, which means only one of the two game shows is pre-empted.
As always, Wheel will air 6:30 PM Eastern on WRDQ, still listed as Judge Jerry. The Florida Primary coverage is still listed as a full hour as well.

That sucks, since I wanted to record these episodes as test footage, but life moves on. KXTV said it was a glitch and J! was supposed to be JIP'd on schedule instead of Wheel, and that it shouldn't happen again. Maybe try again tonight? Hopefully the DNC doesn't run over regardless.

DNC ran over again. The networks signed off around 11:05 Eastern, and WABC's newscast began at 11:06. There will likely be more cutoffs for Wheel on the West Coast tonight since most stations insist on airing that other game show in full. Wheel viewers will likely miss at least the first two Toss-Ups and half of R1. Yesterday, most stations began Wheel as R1 was being solved.

KLST - SAN ANGELO, TEXASWheel was indeed pre-empted tonight, by a local High School Football Preview special. Wheel was listed at both the regular time and 12:37 AM Central, which is presumably when it will actually air. WEST COASTThe final night of the DNC overran all the way to 11:23 Eastern. For the West Coast stations that air Wheel first or prioritize J!, you're pretty much only going to get the Bonus Round... And I just realized... next week's convention is going to affect three of the four GAC: Seattle episodes in Seattle. KOMO airs Wheel first, and does not run it in full when convention overrun pushes back the 8:00 and 9:00 ABC primetime shows, so it is highly unlikely that those episodes will air in full in the city it's saluting. GAC episodes generally don't get priority over J! or other shows in the appropriate markets, as we've seen with how some other GAC repeats fared in their cities this summer.

NOTES[1] Likely a leftover from NFL preseason scheduling, as the Colts were scheduled to play on 8/24. [2] The Destination NY special is re-airing on the same stations Saturday 8/29 at 7:00 PM Eastern, also pre-empting this week's Saturday rerun of Wheel, except on WROC, which will air the special at 7:30 instead. [3] WPVI's listings have Friday's episode on Friday and Thursday's episode on Saturday. [4] WTOV was not scheduled to air Wheel at all, but it ended up airing as filler when the game was delayed due to lightning.
MON-THU: PACIFIC TIME ZONE & ALASKADue to the Republican National Convention airing on all major networks live at 10:00 PM Eastern/7:00 PM Pacific, Wheel is pre-empted on all stations in the Pacific and Alaska Time Zones. Most stations in these regions are moving their 7:00 PM hour programming to the free 10:00 PM hour. In general, Wheel will air three hours later than its usual time. The only exception for Wheel is KNSD San Diego, which is opting to air a rerun of Dateline NBC at 10:00 PM, with no Wheel until Friday. NOTE: If the RNC runs past 11:00 Eastern/8:00 Pacific, several stations will not air Wheel in its entirety, cutting off the beginning of the show by however many minutes the DNC overran. These stations have a red exclamation point (!) next to their air times.REGION | STATION | AFF. | WHEEL AIRING | TIME ZONE | Chico, CA | KNVN | NBC | 10:00 PM ! | PT | Palm Springs, CA | KMIR | NBC | 10:00 PM ! | PT | Yakima, WA | KNDO | NBC | 10:00 PM ! | PT | Eureka, CA | KAEF | ABC | 10:02 PM ! | PT | Los Angeles, CA | KABC | ABC | 10:02 PM ! | PT | Seattle, WA | KOMO | ABC | 10:02 PM ! | PT | Bakersfield, CA | KBAK | CBS | 10:30 PM | PT | Fresno, CA | KFSN | ABC | 10:30 PM ! | PT | Monterey, CA | KSBW | NBC | 10:30 PM | PT | Sacramento, CA | KXTV | ABC | 10:30 PM | PT | San Francisco, CA | KGO | ABC | 10:30 PM ! | PT | San Luis Obispo, CA | KSBY | NBC | 10:30 PM ! | PT | Las Vegas, NV | KLAS | CBS | 10:30 PM ! | PT | Reno, NV | KOLO | ABC | 10:30 PM | PT | Bend, OR | KOHD | ABC | 10:30 PM | PT | Eugene, OR | KVAL | CBS | 10:30 PM | PT | Medford, OR | KDRV | ABC | 10:30 PM | PT | Portland, OR | KATU | ABC | 10:30 PM ! | PT | Spokane, WA | KHQ | NBC | 10:30 PM !

MONDAY 8/24: CBS (MOUNTAIN)Due to the Season 2 premiere of Love Island being a two-hour event, it conflicts with the RNC in the Mountain Time Zone. As a result, most if not all CBS affiliates in the Mountain Time Zone will be airing the show at 6:00 PM Mountain instead of the customary 7:00. In these cases, 6:00 and 6:30 PM programming move to the vacant 9:00 PM hour. The following stations are known to be airing Wheel later on Monday. NOTE: If the RNC runs past 11:00 Eastern/9:00 Mountain, some stations will not air Wheel in its entirety, cutting off the beginning of the show by however many minutes the DNC overran. Stations also have the option of splitting up Love Island into two separate hours, with the first hour at 7:00 PM and the second hour after the RNC. The following stations have Wheel listed at their regular times on most TV listings, but have it at other times on their websites, making it unclear when, or if, they will air Wheel tonight. THURSDAY 8/27: FOXIn order to avoid conflict with the final night of the RNC, during which the President will give a speech, FOX has moved the final Thursday Night Baseball to begin at 6:30 PM Eastern instead of the usual 7:00. This results in the following changes for Wheel: - WSYT Syracuse: Thursday's Wheel will air at 5:30 PM Eastern instead of 6:00. The episode does not appear in listings at all; it is listed as Hot Bench.
- KDVR Denver: Due to the RNC airing at 8:00 PM Mountain, Thursday's Wheel will air at 1:35 AM instead of 8:30 PM.
- KVHP Lake Charles: It appears Thursday's Wheel is not airing at all this week; it is not listed on any sources.
EDIT: The games were cancelled, and Wheel aired at its regular time on all FOX affiliates.

WROC - ROCHESTER, NEW YORK Wheel is bumped to 2:37 AM again tonight. Presumably, they're airing the same Buffalo Bills show as WIVB. Wheel is still listed tonight. Since the pandemic started, WROC has never gone more than two weeks without pre-empting Wheel at least once. And of course, they hardly ever pre-empt Jeopardy!, and when they do, it's always when Wheel is affected, too.
Both WIVB Buffalo and WROC Rochester are pre-empting Wheel a total of three times this week alone counting Saturday thanks to more "Destination NY" specials this week.

WBZ - BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS WBZ is preempting Wheel this Friday again thanks to the airing of Patriots All Access. Friday's Wheel is being relegated to 2:07am ET replacing an infomercial.
NOTE: This is the second week in a row that WBZ has opted to pre-empt Wheel on a Friday for something that will probably get far more viewers for far less money and is thus a sound business decision despite what I think. Shame on me for promoting the great anti-Wheel conspiracy that doesn't exist, especially when it now comes with an automatic thirty-day suspension from the site.

All four of these stations are airing Love Island right now, so Wheel will air at 9:30. KRQE will 99% likely cover it up with J! if RNC runs long, since they always do the same when they schedule J!/WOF after sporting events that run long. Decent chance the others will too, given how many of the Pacific stations did it last week. KMVT Twin Falls already aired J! earlier this afternoon and they have a local special scheduled after RNC instead, which hopefully won't take priority over Wheel. That would be sad.

The 9/8 episode, which is a new episode, is also being pre-empted on WBZ. Don't know what for yet, but when I checked the WBZ listings on Zap2It, there was no airing listed for 9/8, though there was for other stations. Watch them not pre-empt the same day's J! even though that's a repeat. I'm seriously considering making a change.org petition. Feels like WBZ has bumped at least 50 episodes this season.

NBC just announced that their coverage of the NFL Kickoff game, assuming it still happens, will begin at 7:00 PM Eastern, rather than 7:30 in previous years, and is scheduled to run until 11:30 PM. This means that Wheel's last new episode of Season 37 will be affected on all NBC affiliates nationwide, although the West Coast will probably push the show to primetime hours after the game. I was prepared to see how many stations that air Wheel at 7:00 would move J! to that slot and bump Wheel, especially since the latter is a repeat that day, but at least now that can't happen. Source: www.nbcumv.com/news/nbc-primetime-schedule-08242020-monday-august-24-2020-sunday-september-13-2020?division=1&network=33129This decision had to be recent. Yesterday, I checked the listings on Xfinity for the two shows that my NBC airs at 7:00 and 7:30 - Access Hollywood and All Access. The former was still listed at 7:00 on 9/10, but the latter wasn't listed at all. Today, I checked again, and now neither show is listed that day. If I were Mike, I'd swap Thursday and Friday (not Wednesday because that has a BR win; Friday does not). Not good strategy to schedule a new episode on a day where most of the country, and possibly the contestants, can't watch it, although I get that Wheel is trying to half-bury the last two new shows anyway. Also, it's rare that Wheel actually shuffles around episodes such that they don't get pre-empted. The only times I recall them doing so in the 21st century is when they moved up Season 20's Family Week a few weeks to avoid having it on New Year's since ABC would traditionally pre-empt Wheel with the Rose Bowl until 2010. Then there was moving the Season 26 Hawaii shows to start the Wednesday after Election Day, rather than the usual Monday. Then there was moving the third million win from Thursday to Wednesday because of CBS carrying Thursday Night Football coverage starting at 7:30 Eastern (with some stations like WBZ moving J! to 7:00 on those days, of course). You could also count Wheel's hasty mixup of the Season 34 Veterans Week so that Brenda Gallagher's win wouldn't be pre-empted. We'll see what they do this year, hopefully not premiering another ep on a Saturday.

Night 2 of RNC overran to 11:12 PM Eastern, meaning most of the West Coast did not get Wheel until R3. Most stations cut in during the break before that round, while KABC cut in during the first correct letter. Of the six stations that are scheduling Wheel before Jeopardy! this week, only one of them opted to air Wheel from the beginning: KNDO in Yakima, Washington. They were on the interviews while everyone was else was on R3. Even KOMO Seattle is not giving their own episodes any special priority; they JIP'd Wheel (during the break between R2-3) immediately after What Would You Do? ended. This makes this the fourth case of a GAC episode being pre-empted in its own city. Technically, you could count this whole week since Wheel is not at its usual time, but at least the show was still being scheduled at a reasonable time. Now as for the 10:30 airings, this was last week's breakdown: All of the following stations aired Jeopardy! in full from roughly 10:10-10:40 PM, then JIP'd Wheel at the end of R1 at the earliest: - KSBY - San Luis Obispo, CA
- KLAS - Las Vegas, NV
- KHQ - Spokane, WA
- KFSN - Fresno, CA
- KXTV - Sacramento, CA
- KGO - San Francisco, CA
- KATU - Portland, OR
These stations did air Wheel in full starting from 10:30 and opted not to delay J!:
- KBAK - Bakersfield, CA
- KSBW - Monterey, CA
- KVAL - Eugene, OR
- KYUR - Alaska? (I think? I was going through them so quickly but I believe they were on FJ! while most of the others were on DJ!)
The only changes: - KXTV Sacramento: As promised last week, Jeopardy! was JIP'd, allowing Wheel to run in full. They were well into Double Jeopardy! when most of the others were halfway through the Jeopardy! round .
- KVAL Eugene: They are now airing J! from the beginning instead of JIP'ing it, meaning Wheel gets cut off.
- KYUR Alaska is indeed JIP'ing J! instead of Wheel; I caught the "Final Jeopardy! coming up" bumper when most of the others hadn't even started DJ! yet.
Great job scheduling a GAC week during a week where Wheel gets screwed over in that city, Wheel... I guess they saved Seattle for last because they wanted to give time for the Seattle riot stuff to blow over. Otherwise, they could have swapped it with GAC: Denver on July 27-31; I don't think KDVR is airing the RNC except for the final night.

RNC Night 3 ran all the way to 11:20 Eastern. I believe tonight's episode was a six-round game. Most of the Pacific Time Zone is probably only going to get the Final Spin onwards.
Tomorrow is the final night of RNC and that one is the biggest deal, so I won't be surprised if it overruns 30+ minutes and most of the above stations replace Wheel with J! entirely. FOX even added an extra half hour to their MLB games this week to make it less likely that they run past 10:00 Eastern.
Also, this goes without saying, but I imagine programming will be pre-empted tomorrow in Gulf Coast markets due to Hurricane Laura. Those of you in that area, stay safe.

FOX
Both of tonight's MLB games that were scheduled to air on FOX have been postponed due to the Jacob Blake protests among the major sports leagues. Wheel will likely air at its regular time tonight on all FOX stations, unless the network improvises with something else. MLB still appears in all listings.
Because this was so last minute, WSYT in Syracuse will be airing Wheel twice tonight. First at its planned 5:30 PM Eastern, then again at its normal 7:00 PM. The former airing is still listed as Hot Bench and the latter is still listed as part of the Phillies/Nationals game.

All FOX stations aired Wheel at its regular time tonight, including WSYT Syracuse, airing the same episode they aired earlier at 5:30. There were a lot more pre-emptions tonight than what was known, mostly due to weather, but only one due to Laura. KALB - ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANAKALB expanded their 6:00 newscast to a full hour due to Hurricane Laura, pre-empting Wheel. KWWL - CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWAWheel was pre-empted by a charity special for victims of the derecho that happened earlier this month.
