Yesterday's tapings were supposed to be for Secret Santa Week 1. Assuming that taped today, Vanna will be hosting at least the week of December 9-13.

It’s being reported that tapings have been added for this Monday to make up for Thursday being cancelled.
As excited as I am to see Vanna host, I’m sure they would have brought in Alex to cover for Pat if not for his health. Would have been nice to see him host Wheel again.

It would be interesting to see how well she does hosting the actual show. I like how she did in the Hasbro computer game versions.

Especially considering that Mickey Mouse is a fictional character and thus would really be someone in a Mickey Mouse costume in that case  That said, I did have the crazy idea of someone in a Santa costume doing it instead that I got from nowhere for some reason... |

They'll be involved in some way. And honestly, it's not far-fetched since the Disney mascot characters can't talk anyway. My only concern is how they'll be able to comfortably touch the screens with those oversized gloves. |

I'm just envisioning Vanna trying to spin the wheel for the Speed-Up. IMO, they could've kept it in the Sony family and gotten an actress from Days or Y&R to work the board.

Wondering how it will work with the contestants who came... my show was taped on a Thursday last year for the first Secret Santa week, many of us stayed the weekend. But if they tape Monday, some will have to stay longer. How dramatic, wonder how far along they were in preparation when he left or was he even there.

It'll definitely be interesting to see what effect this has on Wheel's ratings, since most casual viewers wouldn't even remember the last time Pat and Vanna switched places

This is very shocking for Pat to have emergency surgery. I remember when former late night talk show host David Letterman had bypass surgery back in 2000 and he missed five-six weeks of work and they had guest hosts on until he returned. Can anyone name some good young talented actresses that might be able to do Vanna's job although they have already filmed on Friday and will film tomorrow (Monday)? Looking forward to Vanna hosting it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. They have never had somebody sub for Alex Trebek on Jeopardy for emergencies like this.

We know how accommodating Wheel is with conflicting tape dates. We are also aware that the cost to travel and stay is our responsibility. I wonder if they provided some assistance given the extenuating circumstances, not that we will necessarily ever know, but they are a good bunch over there.. Either way, you have to understand how these situations just cannot be predicted or planned for. A speedy recovery to Pat. |
