By definition isn't a major street like that not QUIET, ever? That was a bullshit puzzle.

My guess for TU 2 was Souvenir Mugs. It was pins. I've never heard of a souvenir pin.
When Jake bought the A in Round 3 Vanna tricked me into thinking there weren't any A's up there.
Me and the red contestant have the same name. He dominated tonight. I'm proud of him. Pulled for him also tonight. When I apply and if I make it I hope to do what he did

This was a very exciting show. Vanna seemed more comfortable tonight, the gameplay was (mostly) fine, and we actually got some nice money off the Wheel. In particular, Vanna actually had some fun during the interviews and made them worth watching.
That being said, it wasn't perfect. Vanna made a particularly bad boo-boo during the mystery round that most people probably won't notice, but the fans will. The couple odd gameplay moments that were poor kinda stuck out. And let's not even get started on that BR puzzle.
But we've been getting better and better shows this week and hopefully that trend continues, besides the rough BRs.

Vanna seems to be quickly getting more comfortable.
NHO TU2. I got stuck on SOUVENIR MUGS and had no idea what _INS could possibly be that fit with SOUVENIR.

I just realized the reason interviews with Vanna are so much more one-sided than with Pat is because they're not even giving her the "contestant info" cards. I guess they figure they'd be giving her too much information to go through. She already seems nervous enough with the cards as it is with the way she takes a second to peek at them when the contestants answer Toss-Ups, unlike Pat who memorizes the answers off the cards as soon as the puzzles begin.
That being said, Vanna is really improving at being more conversational during that part of the show, instead of just, "Very nice. We move on to (next contestant)."
Vanna's spin may not have been a big one in terms of strength or amount, but it was her biggest spin so far this week in both regards. They're really pressing the poor woman for time. The fade out after the final tally came at 7:51 for 7:30 airings. That's normally around the time the Final Spin bell goes off. I really don't like that they keep ringing the bell at the start of R4 when everyone knows darn well that Vanna is not strong enough to reach $5K, unless maybe she hits the Bankrupt or Free Play and has to re-spin. If a bad Final Spin should happen in these weeks, I hope they leave it in so that Vanna can make a tongue-in-cheek joke like, "This never happens to Pat!" This is also why I hope that someday they go back to putting another four-digit amount on the opposite side of the Wheel.
Is it me, or are the "top half" shots of the split screen more zoomed out than usual so that Vanna is visible on 4:3 TV's? Usually, Pat is at the very edge of the screen in native 16:9. It also seems like the board shots in regular rounds are more zoomed out than usual to make Mickey and Minnie more noticeable on 4:3 screens.

Since you've been recording these, any way you can take a screencap and (how do I word this?) superimpose a 4:3 "box" (safe zone dimensions) over the shot, and see where Vanna ends up in that? Answer your own question, so to speak.

Answer your own question, so to speak. Here's a still of a Speed-Up from an episode with Pat (I used JJ's episode because why not?): And here's the Speed-Up from last Monday: The red areas are not visible on 4:3 screens. So they are ensuring that Vanna and the Disney mice are visible for all aspect ratios. A good move on the directors' part. For all we know, there could be some bar or restaurant somewhere still using a 4:3 TV and patrons watching Wheel on it with little to no audio wouldn't know it's Vanna at the podium until there's a direct shot of her or after the puzzle is solved.

Vanna seems to be quickly getting more comfortable. NHO TU2. I got stuck on SOUVENIR MUGS and had no idea what _INS could possibly be that fit with SOUVENIR. Exactly what I would’ve said as well (I had BINS in TU2.): Here’s some other observations that I had: I see that Vanna has more of a knack for fashion than Pat. That's the second day that she commented on someone’s clothing. Why in the world would Jake flip that MW in R2?! He easily could've taken that $4K from the C’s and had over $9K had he declined. At least that gave Shervonne a nice score. Also, while you’re on EXPRESS, please call the obvious letters first. I had no idea on LAND in R3. Also, $13,583 for the Caribbean Cruise?! That’s way too OP and it's the second time in a row that they did this malarkey. Then again, take away the PP and Jake still would've won the game. While some of you are complaining about MAJOR BOULEVARD not being a real place, I did get it before the R showed up thanks to partial reuses. And once again, Vanna reveals the envelope after Jim’s spiel...

^RE: Jake's flip: Tris alluded to this, but Vanna clearly told him that he had $5,050, which is technically true, but didn't mention the $4,000 he potentially had from the C's. Although there is some responsibility on the contestant, that's more Vanna's fault for not presenting it as a $9,050 wager for a chance at $10,000.
There are just little things that Vanna are doing that wouldn't be seen by a casual viewer, but those who watch every day notice.

I have many souvenir pins. Some from Olympic games. Some from baseball teams. And some that I stepped on by accident.

Although there is some responsibility on the contestant, that's more Vanna's fault for not presenting it as a $9,050 wager for a chance at $10,000. But it never was a $9,050 wager to begin with. You don't get the $X,000 from the wedge's face value unless you decline the flip. There's no "giving back" of that money; it's your reward for playing it safe.

Like many others have reported, I also thought of Mugs instead of pins for TU2. But I actually got the Bonus with RSTLNE so I'm proud of myself for that.
Jake and Shervonne both played really well, it's a shame Taylor couldn't get in on the action too much!
Vanna looked really comfortable taping this episode, (given it's the 3rd taping of the day) I really think this could lead to more relaxed hosting from her for the rest of the week!

Both words from the BR are on our "words never won" list. Now I'm wondering whether QUIET, QUICK, or JUICY will get its first known win before Pat retires. QUIET is definitely the easiest of those three adjectives since it at least has free letters in it, yet nobody sees it every time it pops up, although there was that one guy in early Season 34 who had " _ _ _ E _ T " (UPBEAT) and then picked a Q for one of his consonants. I believe somebody in the predictions thread has dibs on PUFFY PAJAMAS, where both words are also in that thread. Watch that come up soon.

I also thought SOUVENIR MUGS. I've heard of souvenir pins but I felt like maybe they knew lots of people would guess MUGS and they wanted to make it tougher.
How easy is it for the contestants to hear each other? When Shervonne said "Right about..." it seemed fairly quiet. Did we hear that mostly because she had a mic on, or is it safe to assume that Jake could hear that as well? I don't know whether or not he already knew the answer, but if he didn't and he heard that, it would have been a giveaway.

The Mystery flip choice could have been presented better, I agree--unless you're a degenerate gambler I can't see anything tempting about giving up $9,xxx for a fifty-fifty chance at either $15,xxx or a Bankrupt. That was a really wretched Bonus, yuck. My dad hit it after Jake's letters and I was like..."Oh no, it fits...there is no way they would do that, is there?" EDIT: Thinking about the Bonus a little more, I think BUSY BOULEVARD would have been a much more sensible puzzle without giving up too much in the way of difficulty. Also has that pleasing alliteration factor to it.

R4 must have been an unselected bonus puzzle.
