Due to the heavy impact of COVID-19 on the cruising industry, Carnival Week of Fun!, which taped February 27 and was scheduled to air March 30-April 3, has been pulled and replaced with reruns from Season 36's Spa Getaway week (October 8-12, 2018). This will be the first of what will likely be several mid-season rerun weeks caused by the virus pandemic.  As of Thursday 3/19, Xfinity listings only go up to Saturday 4/11. Next week, Gone Fishin', and the fourth America's Game week after these reruns are still listed. Carnival Week of Fun! did have an America's Game episode taped for Wednesday 4/8, and that date is listed as a new episode, so it is unknown if that episode will still air despite the cruising references, or if they will change the episodes around. Here are the recaps from S36 Spa Getaway week: Monday 10/08/18: Rich/Mirella/Niquan, featuring a $45K at-the-buzzer Bonus Round win, and the only win of the week Tuesday 10/09/18: Melissa/Shawn/Ashley, with everyone finishing with five digits Wednesday 10/10/18: Dawn/Jamie/DevinThursday 10/11/18: Diana/Carol/AdamFriday 10/12/18: Monique/Terri/MarkTwo episodes from this week already reran this season as Saturday reruns: Monday (Rich/Mirella/Niquan) on 11/16/19 and Wednesday (Dawn/Jamie/Devin) just recently on 3/7/20. However, the original airing of Rich/Mirella/Niquan was pre-empted on some East Coast CBS and NBC affiliates by the swearing-in of Bret Kavanaugh, and its rerun was pre-empted on most East Coast CBS affiliates by overrun from SEC College Football. The recent rerun of Dawn/Jamie/Devin was also pre-empted on all CBS stations by the NCAA Mountain West Championship. |

Will “Week of Fun” be rescheduled? If not, then this would be the first known time where they tape episodes, but never air them, not counting the Lottery Experience games in 2012 and 2017. By the way, mrszimme2001 appeared on the episode rerunning April 2. |

This is truly bizarre. But out of all weeks, why Spa Getaway? I would think they’d air a cruise-themed week, and I understand there were none in season 36...but why re-air that specific theme?

Quite doubtful we'll get 190 episodes in the season after all, let alone 195. First time a set of taped episodes could go to waste. This is just sad.
Quite honestly, barring any jackpot win tomorrow or any time next week I think I'm going to take the rest of this season off whether or not the rest of this season gets shelved.
This is getting into me too much, and I have a life outside of WOF, so I'll just focus my enjoyment on other things I guess.

This is truly bizarre. But out of all weeks, why Spa Getaway? I would think they’d air a cruise-themed week, and I understand there were none in season 36...but why re-air that specific theme? It would not be wise for them to air any cruise-themed week at a time where nobody can actually go on a cruise. They're also probably avoiding any weeks that feature trips to countries that have a large number of COVID-19 cases, so Collette weeks, and any other weeks with a traveling theme, are likely out. Will “Week of Fun” be rescheduled? We don't know yet. |

The shows have to air for winnings to count, right?
Price is still airing all its trips freely, but with a credits disclaimer. These have to air sometime and I doubt cruises will come back before the fall. Airing this week in S38 will stick out with the 37k amounts.
So really, they've created a major headache if they really are delaying this week for this reason. Or, they are spacing out the remaining weeks they have and it isn't about the cruises after all.

The contestants can still get paid even if the episodes don't air. It's up to the show.
I imagine the week will air at some point once Carnival's operations are back in full swing, even if maybe they have to wait until Season 38.

^^Well WJLA aired the episodes on September 11-13 on September 15, though I don’t know if any station aired the September 11 episode on its scheduled air date. Regardless, all of the contestants from that week received their winnings.

It's more and more unlikely major "Petri dish" like crowds like cruises will resume by early September. These episodes could be lost to the ether.

I don't think this can air during Season 38. Because of the $37,000 envelope. They can't air that envelope as a first run when that envelope is retired.

Now that I think about it, I think it will air eventually, so the contestants can see themselves on TV. They could also air it in place of a summer rerun week.

^ That's different. Those are reruns. The fact that the envelope says $36,000 let's us know it's a rerun because that's not the minimum anymore. But if the $37K envelope were to air as a first run during Season 38 that might make people think it's a rerun because that won't be the minimum anymore in Season 38.

I also think that the second UK week will be pulled, but we will find out tomorrow since it looks like Xfinity has gone back to revealing the episodes 23 days in advance instead of 22.

For anyone with Xfinity, the best way to look at upcoming listings is through the Xfinity Remote app. The Xfinity Stream app only goes the standard two weeks.
