As most of you know, the Wheel has ventured outside on occasion for some of their road shows, most recently in Walt Disney World's Epcot in Season 35, and has also done so in Hawaii. But amazing, despite its favorable climate, Wheel has never taped outside the walls of various studios in Southern California. But they don't know what they could be missing in this day and age, from the many beaches to outdoor plazas to various places in the many parks of the region, including the Disneyland resort, where they could easily shoot in that central area between the Magic Kingdom and California Adventure, and of course this would provide some good security. Those Wheelmobile events tend to get a great reception, and are often held outdoors as well. Still, you could easily tape there from August-October before the rainy season starts and among the places that are reopening, there usually aren't any limits in terms of gathering limits, and this would not only allow the production crew to have a reasonable distance apart, but also allow for a decent crowd to show up, and since a lot of production may still be suspended, this could provide something for those who would normally to attend those tapings something else to see instead. It makes a prime opportunity for the new EP to provide a push for this show to recapture some of the audience it has lost, and to get started, thinking "outside the studio box" would be a good way to kick things off.

I want them to do road shows again here soon. Hope they tape them with audiences because I would love to attend a taping closer to where I live. Hope it's somewhere on the east coast

There are still precautions that would need to followed even if they taped outdoors. They're not going to tape episodes where everyone has to wear masks.

Hope it's somewhere on the east coast I miss the road shows too. I remember going to see Wheel of Fortune back in 1997 at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida and that was outdoors. To say the least I had a blast! I also saw the show again in the early 2000's in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and this one was indoors. I don't think they will do a show with an audience till the pandemic is over. I think they will bring the road shows back. If you never went to a taping ask anyone it is fun! You get to talk to people that are crazy about the show just as you are. Pat and Vanna talk to the audience and you get to see all the stuff that goes on during the breaks.

Hope it's somewhere on the east coast I went to see Wheel of Fortune in 1997 when they taped at Universal Studios in Florida. It was taped outside and I had a insane time! Did anybody else go to these tapings? I remember a couple made it to the bonus round and won a Land Rover.

Wheel of Fortune taped at Universal Studios in Florida in 1999. Wheel of Fortune taped in SeaWorld Orlando in December 2008.

There are still precautions that would need to followed even if they taped outdoors. They're not going to tape episodes where everyone has to wear masks. Although (for example) here they are now allowing dining outdoors but not yet indoors, so it could be a situation like that where a show taping outside would be allowed sooner than one inside a studio.
Alternatively, you could have an area (like Florida, since the parks themselves are opening in some capacity by July) that would allow them to tape (but might not have indoor space or might not allow it to be done indoors) while their normal studios are in an area where they wouldn't yet be allowed to tape.

The Florida theme parks will require masks when they re-open. Again, they’re likely not going to produce episodes if everyone has to wear masks.

We did go and still do go to Universal Studios a lot so that is probably why I made the mistake. Still hard to believe that was 21 years ago.

But the NBA was also looking at using the world of sports complex for their games and it seems unlikely that they would expect players to play with a mask on, so it seems it could be done (even if they were just doing the no audience tapings - only if it was a situation where CA was not allowing it but FL would).

Keep in mind that if numbers go up things could change back for all the parks. It's all about then numbers and yes location. Looking back at my trip to Universal Studios in Florida makes me want to go again but I will hold off. Let's see what happens.
