Since the wheel was redesigned to accommodate social distancing measures, I wonder if this means there will be an entirely new set or if this is just a minor modification to the current set. We’re long overdue for a complete overhaul of the set, as the last time it happened was the neonification in 2003. The only things from 2003 that have remained the same through Season 37 are the Wheel's base and the puzzle board border. Everything else has been upgraded since then. Maybe we’ll get a glimpse of the new set soon.

If we don't get any exclusive spoilers, we'll most definitely see it when it first airs.

Don't count on it. I bet the staff that actually is there, since it's for essential staff members only, is refraining from making any social media posts about it.

I could see Wheel's official social media posting something closer to the season premiere date as a teaser, and I could see some more information coming out about the changes to the set to comply with social distancing. Mike Richards might post something on his social media also.

I didn't mean there was anything posted now-- I said Wheel might when it gets closer to the season premiere.

Speaking of the audience, I wonder if they will do what they did for America's got talent and have a virtual audience. They redid the set, the judges take it's now about 24 feet long to comply with social distancing, and there are video walls all around, which most of them have the audience on them. Take a look at these pictures I will post from last night's broadcast. The audience is above the judges on the walls.

There’s no way they’ll do something that complicated. They’re just going to do waht they’ve been doing and pretend there’s an audience behind the cameras and add sound effects.

Eh... I think most people will know better and assume fake audiences are the standard now, since even major league sporting events are adding fake noise to games.

I think it'll be pretty obvious there are no audience members since apparently not even family members or other guests of the contestants are allowed for now.

Has anyone swimming in the contestant pool heard anything?
Related question, is there a maximum amount of time from when you got the letter to when they will call you? Can you ever get dropped from the contestant waiting list if you don't appear in enough time?
Thanks...anxiously waiting a call/email!

After my audition in January 2018, my letter said “within 18 months”. For me it was over 8 months, which gave me lots of time to practice like crazy. I saw some people from my audition whose shows aired with 2-3 months, so they must have been called right away. I’m guessing with Covid that they’ll extend the time, as they don’t want people traveling right now.

That would explain why the Wheelmobile is parked right now.

I know they’re going to modify the wheel itself but what about the bonus wheel and envelopes? I mean, 5 different contestants will be touching it all week.

I know they’re going to modify the wheel itself but what about the bonus wheel and envelopes? I mean, 5 different contestants will be touching it all week. The wheel hasn’t been modified, rather the podiums around it have been widened to account for distancing requirements. Think of the gray ledge looking more like a C now, with the bulk of the extra being over near Pat. Pat is now far enough from the wheel he has to take a step or two toward the red player to do his final spins. The most noteworthy change is the contestants hold an apparatus that they slide over the spoke to spin the wheel so they don’t touch the wheel spokes directly. Aside from that, not much in the way of changes. $38k is the new BR minimum.
