It's the night we've all be waiting for! The premiere episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune on ABC! Lots of fun and exciting differences compared to the daily syndie version, so I am going to quote MarioGS who compiled a list so we are all up to speed:
- Each game begins with two Toss-Ups - $1,000 and $2,000, like the regular show. On the second half, the second is played immediately after the first.
- Each game is played with a flat three rounds (not four). Top values are $2500, $3500, and $5000.
- There is no Free Play, Mystery, Express, etc. The only "extra" is the MDW, and all four get added in R2 of each game.
- Solve bonuses are $5,000, $10,000, and $20,000.
- The Triple Toss-Up is played before Round 3 and the puzzles are $5,000 each.
- Only the second half had a Final Spin on episode 1, suggesting that it can only happen during that half. The first half ended after Round 3 was played in full.
- A player can only have one MDW at a time. If they land on another one while carrying one, it is treated as a $1000 wedge.
- Any MDW's lost in R2 (and likely any that are picked up at all) are replenished for R3.
- The Bonus Wheel contains the following amounts: $25K, $50K, $75K, $100K. There are four $100K envelopes, but it wasn't said how many of each the other amounts have. If the MDW makes it, one of the $100K's is replaced with the million.
The category strips, toss up wipes, and final spin graphics have all been updated to a gold look. The theme and solve cues have all been remixed. The toss-up and speed up "think" cues have not been changed.
The opening begins with a remixed version of the current road show theme and Jim's announcing the celebrities; on screen you see them, their name, and and the charities for which they are playing. Jim end's by saying: "...tonight on Celebrity..." followed by the famous "WHEEL! OF! FORTUNE!" chant. Vanna walks out from the left side of the center stage video wall, Pat from the right, and they meet in the middle where they chat for a moment about the show's primetime debt and the premise of the show, before parting ways.
