From the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel in Honolulu, it's America's game!
Our first trio of the week:
Lei Kahaialii: Reservations manager, from Lahaina
Karen Sosher: Preschool teacher, from Honolulu (originally from Scotland)
Sean Miller: Lifeguard, landscaper, guitar teacher, whatever; from Pearl City
Being that Karen is originally from Scotland, Pat tries to picture bagpipes and ukuleles together. That doesn't exactly work with the Hawaiian theme.
Pat mentions that in addition to the contestants, there are three PGA tour professionals participating in the Sony Open golf tournament! Say hello to John Cook, Jim Furyk, and Jesper Parnevik!
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000. At least these sparkles could be ideal for the Hawaiian theme.
Lei solves BOB DOLE PINEAPPLE.
Lei solves LOVESTRUCK HONEYMOONERS. Can she fall in love with this $3,000 Puzzler?
I guess not. She's silent and does not solve DO NOT DISTURB. They could be in there watching Wheel, as Pat says! You wouldn't want to disturb that.
Lei solves SINGER-SONGWRITER SHANIA TWAIN.
With a long welcome and some long rounds, Pat must give the Wheel a Final Spin. Consonants are worth... $600 a piece. Lei begins!
Lei: T (x2) ($1,200)
Karen: N ($600)
Sean: S (x2) ($1,200)
Sean ends the sweep and solves TROPICAL SUNSET.
BONUS ROUND:
RSTLNE gives her:
