Next week is the latest Margaritaville Home Sweet Home week. Once again, there will be a sweepstakes allowing a lucky home viewer to win a house in Latitude Margaritaville. This year's edition comes with an addition: a "Home" wedge on the Wheel, likely allowing a contestant the chance to win one as well.
The wedge is a sparkly dark blue wedge that will cover the blue $550 in at least Round 1. It has only been revealed via a promo airing after Round 1 this week. It is unknown exactly how the wedge will work. It is not replacing the regular Prize Wedge, since there is a shot in the promo that shows it in its normal spot near Lose a Turn.
This is the first special gameplay change since the Wheel $6000 wedge in April-May 2014.

1) The wedge will be available for the entire week in Rounds 1-2. If it is picked up and won with a successful solve, the contestant doesn't win anything, but a SPIN ID will be drawn for a home viewer, with that viewer winning the house. This is probably less likely than my other theory, since there haven't been any advisories to log into your WWC profile to keep your SPIN ID active like they do in the weeks leading up to Secret Santa. Still, they aren't making a $375K prize that easy to win.
2) The wedge will be available in Rounds 1-3 and function like the Million Dollar Wedge. Hang on to it for the rest of the show, and if you make it to the Bonus Round, one of the envelopes (probably a $38K or car one) will be replaced with one that reads "HOME". For the viewers, the sweepstakes would function the same as it did in previous years.

I just checked the Home Sweet Home page (no reference intended) on the website and it will indeed be the usual "enter the bonus puzzle solution" thing, though presumably Thursday and/or Friday will need to be one of those "enter any solution at all" occasions because of the NFL Draft. Several viewers will only get three chances or four chances to enter out of five.
It's a somewhat interesting wrinkle for the week, it made me think about doing something like this with the $100,000 envelope so the contestant can have two instead of one on the wheel if they make it to the bonus round.
Boy, with that bathroom offered and given away on The Price Is Right and now this special prize, I wish Bob Eubanks could throw us a bone if he has any Dream House episodes that we haven't seen (and Pat & Vanna were celebrity contestants one day). Maybe next year, have couples play just like on that long-lost show.
The only thing I would of done is for Pat to check the location(s) of the Home envelope(s) at the end of the Bonus Round to confirm that its present, or at the very least, show it to us if it's never landed on at the end of the week.
