I wonder if the show will allow those contestants to play again under the next guest host (keeping all the winnings they had from the initial shoot) or if we'll get one week of Mike in September. I suppose the show could just reshoot his intro at the beginning of the week and let him say he's guest hosting for the week, but that isn't the best damage control either.
Production should've halted as soon as Sony knew that it had another Mike scandal brewing before production meetings commenced yesterday morning. As far as I know, no new significantly-damning information has come out since Claire McNear posted her exposé on Wednesday afternoon.

Bummer that they reused S37's logo. And my next guess is that the 2008 theme will be here to stay as well. Sigh. Better look ahead to Season 39 (2022-23) for a refresh of the music package, new logo, and new set...unless a new permanent host makes his/her debut mid-season.

It's been reported that the week Mike filmed will air, and there will likely be a disclaimer about why he is no longer hosting before each episode. I imagine too they'll edit out references he makes to being the permanent host.

Yeah, it would have been way too costly to bring everyone back and reshoot five episodes.

Man, when production resumes this week, it is going to be *awkward* to have to be there with Mike around for however many days they will shoot. Allegedly he stepped aside from his hosting position after an informal vote of no confidence by the staff.
If you ever wanted to see a primer in poor management unfold before your very eyes, look no further than this situation. Hopefully the company learns something from this whole debacle before Wheel needs to find new on-air talent in a few years.

^ Wheel is actually supposed to tape next week. The two shows usually alternate each week.

Oh, I thought I read something online that the show would resume production in the coming days. I was aware that the shows tape in alternate weeks but I assumed when I read the report there was some accomodation made to have both tape in the same week. If I can find it, I will share it here. It was already out of the ordinary for J! to tape Thursday-Friday as it was scheduled in the past week (I believe it typically shoots Tuesday-Wednesday).
My point about it being awkward with Mike around still stands regardless of whenever those shows resume production.

Hm, that actually does make sense since they lost a taping day last week. I guess they're taping three days this week to make up for that. So either this means J! will tape Mon-Wed and Wheel Thu-Fri, or Wheel is taking this week off.

Give Mayim the job already. I mean, out of all of the guest hosts, she was hands down my favorite. She's smart, talented, funny, and could carry the show very well with poise and grace. And, I'm sure they could make it work with her "Call Me Kat" taping schedule. Ken and Levar tie for my 2nd choice.

Mayim posted a new Instagram photo of herself with her agent that includes another view of the slightly remodeled set. Based on this picture and the one that Rob shared last week, it's obvious that some of the set pieces have been replaced and that the spotlights behind the contestants extend to the area behind the host. The host's lectern has also been remodeled and somewhat resembles the one used in this set design prior to season 37. Link

After only one taping day, Mike has stepped down as host. Season 38 will continue to use guest hosts until another permanent host is decided. Not clear if Mike is also stepping down as EP of J! and Wheel. Jeez, what a sh*tshow this has become. I think this guest hosting thing has really become a clusterf***. It was one thing that Wheel did a rotation of guest announcers to finish off that show's 28th Season after Charlie passed away because Jim Thornton became the full-time announcer in S29.

And, I'm sure they could make it work with her "Call Me Kat" taping schedule. Ken and Levar tie for my 2nd choice. If Sony really wants Mayim that badly, why not just let her be the main host and use guest hosts when she's not available? It worked well enough for Millionaire during Meredith's latter years. (Steve Harvey's memetically bad hosting job notwithstanding.) My first choice would actually be Robin Roberts (if she's up for it), but Mayim would be just fine by me. So would Ken or Buzzy.

Robin is a good choice (I've always been a big fan of hers!), but it would be difficult for her with the GMA schedule and being in New York and J! in Culver City.

Did anyone notice that the host’s podium also got a change? Anyways, still excited for Matt; everything else (host, same logo) not so much.

(And unsurprisingly, no mention of a host.) Watch Jeopardy, with disgraced former host and Executive Producer Mike Richards just doesn't have a nice ring to it.

First saw it in an instagram post, and the host's lectern is similar to the one that was used 2013-2020, except it has LED's on all the sides. That said, I am wondering if the Teachers Tournament & Teen Tournament will take place this upcoming season. Only the ToC was held last season because of travel restrictions and the guest hosts. And I kinda did have a feeling S37's logo was going to carry over into S38 because that was the case with Wheel.

Semi-baseless speculation here, but I wonder if J! will have a refreshed set of music cues now that Wheel will be getting that treatment at the start of the season.

Just found the promo for Season 38, and the logo isn't exactly the same as S37; there are some differences. If you put the S37 & S38 logos side-by-side, you will notice them. The Jeopardy! sign has slightly more of a gold touch to it; the dots on the globe are smaller, and the aurora around the globe is more noticeable.
