Variety: CWOF in Top 40 most watched TV shows of 2020-21

The Chase and Sweep were nice surprises with their Top 50 18-49 finishes too. We'll see what the reduced budget does with The Chase for the next season, but I still see good things for Sweep ahead, especially if they add some new features and a revised layout of the market for the upcoming season just like how the classic 1990s-early 2000s run did to keep it fresh.

I'm not too surprised Millionaire did so poorly, likely because it was back a bit too soon after the syndie run died just in 2019. Hard to believe that this was the #1 primetime show during the 1999-2000 season. It just isn't the same with the audience you can ask, and I even wish they had the Fastest Finger round again. Most game shows have segments where you compete against someone else (see Weakest Link), and that portion of Millionaire made it special. 

Too bad Ellen's Game of Games didn't make the list; like The Price Is Right, there was a certain lineup of rotating games that can have some funny moments regarding punishment, followed by a Showcase Showdown-like round where missing a question makes you drop like the old GSN original Russian Roulette, followed by a decent bonus round. 

But CWOF should be even better with the return of an audience as well as hopefully loosened COVID restrictions.
