On Friday, June 11, the day of Wheel's season finale, Pepperdine University will be hosting a virtual event over Zoom with alumnus Mike Richards. It is free and open to the public with prior registration. If you don't go to Pepperdine or know anyone who does, you can just choose "Guest" for affiliation when registering. bit.ly/CoffeewithMikeRichards

You didn't miss anything. Mike barely talked about Wheel compared to Jeopardy!, which shouldn't be surprising, but it was clear that that was the only show the host was interested in. The Q&A portion had no Wheel-centric questions.
The only Wheel-related discussion was Mike saying that Pat is really funny and very fast on jokes and callbacks, and that Vanna is really nice to everyone. That was it. The rest was discussing other aspects of his career, with a lot of discussion about Mike's successful pitch in rebooting Let's Make a Deal. One interesting remark was that Mike considered being EP of TPIR/LMAD, "the second best job in the world", only behind being EP of J!/WOF when Harry was still doing it.
Regarding the obligatory question: "Have you decided a new Jeopardy! host yet?", Mike said that he's "optimistic" they'll have a decision made by the time the next season tapes in August. Mike himself is in the running along with the 14 others, but the final decision will be made by Sony executives.
Mike mentioned that he met Vanilla Ice on "a show I produced very recently". CWOF Season 2, perhaps?

Well, considering the guest hosts on the sister show (due to Alex’s passing), this shouldn’t be surprising.

Yeah, I kind of figured he wouldn't speak that much about Wheel given Jeopardy's current hosting search and his pretty extensive career outside of Wheel and J!. Interesting it's not definite they will have selected a permanent host by the start of tapings for next season.

Mike himself is in the running along with the 14 others, but the final decision will be made by Sony executives. I could see Sony narrowing down the field and doing "finalist" auditions next season before picking. If Mehmet is picked, I'll be fearful of Jeopardy!'s factual integrity thanks to his long history of spewing/promoting bullcrappery. Of course, for Sony it'd give them an excuse to can his low-rated TV show and their seeming "all publicity is good" stance means they'll bask in the inevitable negative press and internet backlash.
