APPLICABLE: Monday, Thursday, Friday
Since tomorrow is the start of the Summer Secret Santa sweeps, let me get you into the Holiday Spirit (in July) with a pair of X-Mas episodes from the 16th season. It's basically a lead-in to my Christmas in July special.
EPISODE #3002: CHRISTMAS WEEK
Airdate: 12/22/98
Tuesday's trio:
Angel Santiago: Woodbridge, VA. 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force who recently graduated from the Air Force Academy (now stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, TX as a student pilot). He's also been bitten by a man-of-war (in which he could've been dead worst case scenario - yikes).
Alison Kelly: San Carlos, CA (got founded in a contestant search at the Fairmont Hotel in San Fran). Student at the College of Notre Dame studying psychology and sociology (hopes to get a job in criminal justice one day). She hasn't been bitten by a predator...yet.
Ted Orris: Moon Township, PA (right next to Pittsburgh International Airport). Flies 737 for an airline based on the mentioned airport (let's just say he lives at that airport). Also does some home re-modeling when not flying (he even makes his house a mess just to do that).
Ted solves DREAM TEAM.
DUDS: N (Alison), S (Ted)
LOSE A TURNS: 2 (Angel)
BANKRUPT: Alison
1ST PRIZE ADDED TO WHEEL: 4n trip to Quebec City via Collette Tours (marked CANADA) worth $3,728
Alison knows that SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE. Can she add a 3 to her score?
TURTLE is her closest guess. That was a TORTOISE, so she gets bumped up to the house minimum.
DUD: P (Angel)
BANKRUPTS: 2 (others)
2ND PRIZE ADDED TO WHEEL: $2,500 Mall of America GC + stay at Radisson Hotel South & Plaza Tower (marked BOX/CHRISTMAS SHOPPING) totaling $5,120
JACKPOT ROUND
THIS WEEK'S SPONSOR: Hasbro Interactive's new WHEEL game on CD-ROM
There's nothing under the box...yet.
Just when I thought something good was going to happen, Alison botches up the pronunciation of the last word as "lattle". SMH.
Ted reads it with the correct pronunciation.
DUDS: R (Ted), T (Angel), I (Alison), M (Ted)
BANKRUPT: Angel
DQ: Alison's botched solve
LEFT BEHIND IN POT: $11,650
Um, Pat. I'm already depressed.
Gameplay was so much of a slog that Pat now has to take his spin. Each consonant from now on is $300 apiece.
Angel: T ($300)
Alison: S ($300)
Ted: L
Angel: O
Alison: 2 N's ($900)
Ted: M
Angel: Y
Alison: D
Ted: P
Angel: 3 A's
Alison: V ($1,200)
Alison pinpoints VIENNA, AUSTRIA.
DUDS: L (Ted), O (Angel), M (Ted), Y (Angel), D (Alison), P (Ted)
FINAL SCORES
I think I saw the gooseegg coming once Angel blew that Canadian trip in R2.
WINNINGS SO FAR: just $4,400
BANKRUPT TRASH: $1,750
BONUS ROUND:
Kelly won the Camaro on yesterday's show, so that's out of the picture. Hoping to erase the gloom from the studio, Ted picks the first E.
RSTLNE gives the beginning and end:
PDCA gives a couple more...
...unfortunately, he can't solve LOG CABIN...
...and he won't be taking the Christmas Stocking home. Ted's sent packing with just $2,700.
Pat hasn't done any X-Mas shopping...yet.
Tickets for a Wheel taping ad in the end.
