Well, I don't see the two-host situation faring as bad as Al Roker hosting Celebrity Family Feud, at least.
But I disagree about this having a positive effect on CWOF. It was nice to have CWOF as something Wheel-related that wasn't "handcuffed" to the other show for once. Now that's probably going to change. If J! National College Championship becomes a regular series, I really hope ABC doesn't pair it with CWOF, because there will just be more comparisons between the two on social media (especially given the different demos on the shows; if it were CJ!, it'd be different), and it may jeopardize (no pun intended) CWOF's future if J!NCC dethrones it as the top-rated regular ABC primetime game show. But I like Mayim, I really do, and I'm glad she's getting at least something out of this.
And this still doesn't solve the problem that Mike won't be able to focus on syndie Wheel and will probably have to force it to run on autopilot like it did in the 2010's. I'm also very worried that Mike may go on an "ego trip" and do everything to make sure the show he's hosting stays more relevant than the show he produces next door. Mike needs to put the J!/WOF pseudo-rivalry to an end and remind the public that these are both powerful shows with dedicated fanbases of all ages and walks of life, and both are great in their own ways. But I don't see that happening anymore.

I'm sure you all have noticed how we're seeing a lot more official clips of J!/ Wheel pop up on YouTube with some regularity these days.
Yes, but Wheel's are way too mundane and are clearly only done to meet a daily upload quota.
"Let's see, what should we post for tonight? The Bonus Round was lost, so we can't post that... No Mystery win... No Express run... Guess we'll post Pat and Vanna's chit-chat. Oh, wait... we posted that when this ep first aired. Guess we'll just post one of the contestant interviews. What do we title it? How about 'Pat and Kathy Talk About Cats'?"
It says a lot that Wheel's YouTube channel only has ten videos with more than 1 million views. That is pathetic compared to the other game shows. Many of Wheel's viral moments were posted by the general public, and Wheel would either post their official clips far too late, or not at all to avoid embarrassing themselves or the contestant (the "GOLD SHOWER" and "DAVID LOUIE" missolves could have easily broke a million). They also refuse to post full episodes even though the J! and Feud channels have.
However, I do like that Wheel has brought Maggie on board to help with their online content. I enjoy the little videos she makes for the Instagram stories, and it's good that they're bringing a young, pretty face to the show in some form.

I thought Mike Richards did a good job as executive producer on Wheel of Fortune. I just hope he will treat both Wheel of Jeopardy! equally instead of rivals now he is named permanent Jeopardy host. My vision of Mike Richards serving as EP is to have Wheel of Fortune being more dominant than Jeopardy! just like in the 80’s and the 90’s.

Don't give Mike ideas now! But I do wonder how his role as EP will affect his duties on Wheel. It kind of reeks of Sony just wanting to save money on all functions as much as possible. What's next? Mike taking over for Sajak too?

Mike would never treat them as rivals. Sony wouldn't allow that. He would treat one of them as the big cash cow game show and the other as "the other show that we have no plans to end but don't feel the need to do anything special with, because we're doing so well on our main focus show". This is exactly how Harry viewed them in his last few seasons. Sony viewed them as the reverse until Ken Jennings changed that.

Don't give Mike ideas now! But I do wonder how his role as EP will affect his duties on Wheel. It kind of reeks of Sony just wanting to save money on all functions as much as possible. What's next? Mike taking over for Sajak too? Don’t count on it. I think this is the time to really reach out to local stations and stage social media campaigns if you care about the future of Wheel. From someone who sort of observes syndicated TV patterns, Mike installing himself into the role and not divesting from Wheel is a way for Sony and CBS Media Ventures to save money and eventually push Wheel out of its longtime slot for a double-run, first-run Jeopardy! The Celebrity Show would remain in primetime as a way to placate the fanbase. Especially if Pat/Vanna are pushed out or they gracefully retire. And in this cancel culture society, all Sajak needs is a reel of his very ‘spicy’ comments on air regurgitated by a woke Daily Beast columnist and a campaign to push him out. This would be laughable if I didn’t think think this were a legit scenario. The only way the above doesn’t happen is if Mike Richards hilariously and spectacularly tanks it. And I predict that could happen too. Sony wants Mayim in their back pocket doing the primetime shows for a reason. She’s going to slip into the syndicated version seamlessly if Richards screws this up. Certainly some of the most interesting stuff to come out of the game show biz this year. I’m with usedletterboard... we should keep our eye on this.

Might I remind everyone of a little snippet of forum Rule #8: (T)here is no great anti- Wheel pro- Jeopardy conspiracy, so no accusing Sony or the stations of showing "favoritism". Seriously, the two shows tape on different days. There's no reason he still can't pull double (or I guess triple) duty and not still give Wheel the attention it deserves.

There is a correction I want to make. When I was writing a post on this thread I accidentally had a typo. I meant to write Wheel OR Jeopardy!. Not Wheel OF Jeopardy!. Sorry for any confusion I caused.

I'm curious to see how Mike will do as permanent host on J! for dang sure but I don't personally think Wheel is in any danger right now, definitely a more "wait and see" type deal. Also, is it just me or does Mike look and sound kinda like the generic host they slapped into Wheel's Switch port?

Oh, I'm sure that there was an incredible amount of bullshit involved and that the whole host tryout was nothing but a gigantic sham and Mike was the chosen boy from day one, but that's a discussion for somewhere else.
I'd be more worried about Jeopardy! than Wheel, honestly. Wheel at least has remained relatively stable this past year- largely stale, but stable (but they did give away a house and the show as a whole got through COVID with little issue) while Jeopardy has been nothing but a clusterfuck these past eight months... so much so that the current superchamp (who deserves major props for continuing to dominate in the midst of the rotating host kerfuffle) is sadly being forgotten about in the midst of this latest controversy.

Well, it's been almost a day, but there was a tweet from Pat about Mike's new hosting position. I wonder if someone wanted him to write IHOP like that to try and score some extra publicity and a new Apple device.

Not to beat a dead horse, but reports from industry insiders indicate that there is turmoil at Sony now with major internal and external pressure for Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra to make a final decision about whether he wants to keep Mike as host of J!. It is unknown how or if this will affect his role as executive producer for Wheel and J! or if he may be booted from the company altogether.
Tweet from CNN's Brian Stelter:

Sony Pictures will have to calculate the degree to which Mike's presence, even in a behind-the-scenes role, will affect the image of two of its biggest brands. What an utterly mismanaged situation.
It also calls one to question the judgment of executives like Tony Vinciquerra. I'm sure some higher-ups in Japan are now having discussions about his job as well.

I think these two tweets hit the nail on the head. The GP doesn't care what Wheel fans or former contestants have to say about anything, only the casual watchers who whine about Pat's humor or adding AND on Crosswords at the most, because our show is for idiots and boomers and is hosted by an old conservative who hates his job and is rude to the contestants. If Mike had waited for the opportunity to replace Pat, this wouldn't have been nearly as much of a mess at it is now.
