Season 39 Set Pics/Karen Griffith Retiring

AGREED!! I never really cared for that thing either! It was like watching a show within a show. Although, it was a good thing they would occasionally use camera angles to get a better view of Player 3 with the wall out of sight. Nevertheless, I never understood why they replaced those beautiful backdrops something more distracting in the first place. As a kid, I thought it might have looked cool. But since then, it just didn't look right. That's why I'm glad they replaced that wall with a new and more authentic backdrop. Plus, with the new backdrop, this would be the first time in 23 years in which we would see a more cleaner and colorful background behind the contestants, including the dark set!

The blue behind the contestant in the one shot instead of the black behind Pat and Vanna looks really nice. I do wonder as woffan4ever mentioned if it's going to change color based on which contestant's turn it is.

It's such a minor gripe because I love the set piece so much more than the video wall, but I wish one of the set designers figured ahead of time that the opening in the "O" in "Fortune" should have rounded edges rather than squared ones.
