$850 Returning?

Blue, yellow, and I think that's purple. That's where Free Play would normally be, so that really leaves me wondering what's gonna happen.

I'll tell you what. For me, it does look like $850 is making a well-deserved return, at least for tournaments.



On a quick sidenote, this stretching method, done with the photos as well as AutoShapes on PowerPoint, was how I was able to figure out some of the values, including $650, and start the rumor of its return nine years ago - a rumor that would be confirmed. I never put that stretched photo up here, but if anyone wants it, my treat.

There were two reasons why I was so excited for the return of $650 nine years ago. One, they brought back a playable dollar value that I didn't get to grow up with when I was younger because it had not been used in 33 years. It wasn't until early 2002 or so that I learned that $650 and $850 were indeed used back in the seventies. Two, more significantly, I felt the return of $650 could very well mean something for $750, $850, and $950. Sure enough, $950 is being used for the Celebrity specials. In addition, I think it's safe to say at this point that, after a 42-year-long hiatus, $850 is indeed coming back. The real question now is how it will be used. With all that being said, however, I wouldn't be surprised if $750, being quite iconic as it is, comes back soon enough.
