This recap will be slightly different from the recaps I have done before. See if you can list ‘em all.
S39, EPISODE #7428: TEACHER'S WEEK
Airdate: 9/15/21
No, the hosts aren't holograms (although they act like 'em), but they're still here.
Go!
Michelle's doing some ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION. On another note, when's the last time the -ING wasn't used on that category?
The midweek educators:
Michelle Becerra: Corona. 4th grade teacher at Sierra Vista Elementary in Norco (taught 24 years) who's married to Richard (he may have been the class clown growing up) with 2 college daughters (both going into the education field).
Tiffany Johnstone (but let's call her TJ): Menifee (about a half hour north from Temecula). Teaches anatomy, physiology and a biomedical pathways course at Heritage High School. She also coaches the volleyball team and loves playing pickleball.
Darren Spaulding: From New Jersey way. 7th grade social studies teacher at Rahway Middle School (for 30 years) who's married to Pamela with 2 "extremely intelligent" daughters. He's also a keyboarder (and played a few times at church).
Go!
Michelle's 2-for-2 with SPACE EXPLORATION.
ROAD SCHOLAR TRIP: COSTA RICA ($7,150)
Well, that debunks one of my theories about the new season.
PERFECTION! Michelle knows you could also teach HISTORY, YOGA and KINDERGARTEN.
MYSTERY ROUND
$10,000 SPONSOR: Eggland's Best
The camera didn't switch to the overview on the $500 hit (second night in a row this happened). I think it's the one between $550/$600.
Don't GO TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE, Darren (even you said it boldly).
BANKRUPT: TJ
I would've gone for the C's.
Michelle will visit the CARIBBEAN COASTLINE on this vacay to the Hard Rock Hotel in RIVIERA MAYA worth $7,206.
DQ: Darren's E repeat.
Also, I have to put this lil gem up:
Pat: Hey Jim!
Jim: Hey Pat!
Pat: Jim, do the "rock star experience" again the way you did that.
Jim: It's the ultimate rock star vacation!
Pat: Good! Like a '60s disc jockey in there...
PREVAGEN MEMORY (4/11/02): Linda Marshall guessed AN UGLY CHILD for the 3rd Toss-Up when it was actually AN ONLY CHILD (which went unsolved). Keep in mind that she's a school counselor.
TRIPLE TOSS-UP
Go!
All captains here as TJ solves CAPTAIN AMERICA.
Go!
Darren solves CAPTAIN MARVEL.
Go!
TJ quickly solves CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS.
DING DING! DING DING!
FINAL SPIN (TJ): $1,600
TJ: N ($1,600)
Darren: D
Michelle: 3 R's ($4,800)
TJ: S ($3,200)

Darren solves THREE-RING CIRCUS.

HDMA gives Michelle some key spots...
Looks like Michelle's a HAPPY CUSTOMER because that solve has won her another $45,000!
MICHELLE'S FINAL TOTAL: $65,956 ($58,750 in cash, plus the trip to Mexico)
Apparently, people don't like the naming of this theme week because there's an apostrophe (not counting S24). Then again, you could put the apostrophe after the S or omit it (like in S24). But then again, it's their naming. It's like how Father's Day is named. Vanna likes no apostrophe, though.
