Wow, we had a 5th round tonight even with the full Mystery Round explanation. There were even a few turns before the Final Spin. Very strange that Blake bought an A and not the I after calling the N and G.

A very impressive solve for Helen in the BR. How she got it with just the ING showing on the first word is beyond me.

I got the Toss-Ups easily...but the main puzzles were trouble for some reason (I only got Rounds 4 and 5 at the last letter called). That aside, I was hoping for a Round 6 this time. So close!

As for the bonus puzzle, I couldn't get BUZZING either. That was an amazing solve, and Helen's a really good player!

INTERVIEWS: You grew up in OC, then moved to Texas last year...seems like someone got sick of California's policies. Also, Newport Beach is awesome.

TU2: I mistakenly said BOAT. Whoops.

Most of the time, I also didn't do good on the maingame puzzles (BTW, impressive R3 solve!)...except R4 which I nailed with the T. Also nice to see a R5 WITH extra time (I also thought we'd actually have a R6).

BR: Unfortunately, I got spoiled by a comment saying "double Z". Probably sure I would've been stumped without that comment as I always say FUMING WITH IDEAS. Incredible solve by Helen and a well-deserved car win by her! Easily a nominee for best player of the season!

I wasn’t expecting this extra-episodes week to start on the set after Teacher’s Week, but it’s a nice change of scenery from the usual.

Anyway, Helen dominated in terms of puzzle-solving, but Jamie came on strong toward the end. Her choice of the W’s on the Express helped me almost quickly figure out that puzzle. And the geography whiz in me nailed the Triple Toss-Ups fast as well.

I’m also happy we got a now-rare R5 with extra time!

I solved the BR with RSTLNE, believe it or not (though I wasn’t sure). How Helen got it at the start of the timer is beyond me. Her car win is well-deserved!

My rating: 8
