S15, EPISODE #2879: SPRING BREAK
Airdate: 4/9/98
Thursday's lineup:
Wylie Graham: Edmond, OK. University of Oklahoma junior studying foreign language education (hopes to be a Spanish teacher). She lived in Spain for a year at 15 and lived in France for 6 weeks last summer.
Susan Barg: Grayslake, IL. International flight attendant who's married to Steve with 2 kids. She's also a marathoner who plans to run the San Diego marathon June 21st.
Dennis Ross: Beaverton, OR (found at the Governor hotel in Portland). Licensed contractor who's recently married to Malia (since December). He also wiggles his ears and we get a shot of him and Pat having a wiggle-off.
Don't think I've heard about a WHITE HOUSE EASTER EGG ROLL before, but Susan gets that one...and wins a trip to Wit's End Guest Ranch & Resort in Colorado ($5,400).
1ST PRIZE ADDED TO WHEEL: Italjet European motorscooter (marked SCOOTER, $3,149)
Only 10 blank spaces in this.
Susan says YOU PUT YOUR RIGHT FOOT IN AND YOU SHAKE IT ALL ABOUT...but she just misses the bonus thinking the next line ends with "about". It was "...you do the hokey pojey and you turn yourself around".
Charlie! Put down that modern maturity swimsuit because it's time of the...
JACKPOT ROUND
Yep, Dennis is obviously a gambler for sure and he's got the outright lead just by reading this puzzle!
LEFT BEHIND IN POT: $18,750
You guys missed it, but during the break, Dennis bungeed jumped off the rooftops.
However, there's not a lot of time left for this next round, so we'll let the host spin for...well, the party continues on - it's $5,000 per consonant! Get out the Sony Corporate ATM card indeed!
Dennis quickly pinpoints BILOXI MISSISSIPPI. Yeah, I think he'll start a national ear-wiggling craze.
FINAL SCORES
WINNINGS SO FAR: $41,200
BANKRUPT TRASH: $3,000
BONUS ROUND
It's really something how Dennis managed to be cool, calm and collected on this show.
LETTER PICKED: L
RSTLNE gives Dennis just one:
DCPA gives the first letter of each word...
It's Sonic the Hedgehog's favorite food...but he misses with COLD and CURLY for the first word. He doesn't eat up this CHILI DOG for Florida & Waverunners.
DENNIS' FINAL TOTAL: $31,200 (all cash; eligible for Final)
In the beginning of this show, Pat wiggled his ears. He first discovered this at a talent competition at camp (not able to play baseball). Vanna can't do it.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Now there's that Wheel that I love! Despite the Bonus Round fail, I'm giving this an 8/10.
