From the Sony Studios, it's America's Game!
WHEEL OF FORTUNE
FAMILY WEEK
EPISODE #2614
Pat notes that the amount to beat to qualify for the Friday Finals tomorrow is $6,650.
Here are today's families!
Scott & Pam Cole are a mother/son combo from Salt Lake City. Pam is an accountant for a medical company. She's been married for forty years. She has five children and eighteen grandchildren. Scott is responsible for two of those grandchildren (Kirsten and Brandon). He's a police officer, and brought his wife, Amy, in the audience.
Elvia & Karen Simon are from Sudbury, Ontario. Elvia is married to Joel for 28 years, and has four children: Lisa, Stepha, David, and Karen. Karen is a third-year university student at Laurentian University in Sudbury. She's double-majoring in Italian and French, hoping to teach.
Karen Milrod & Phyllis Milrod-Eichner are sisters from New York. Karen lives near Lincoln Center and loves going to the theater when she has a chance. Phyllis used to be roommates, until she went to Long Island after marrying to Michael about two years ago.
Elvia & Karen solves HEY DAD ARE WE THERE YET (despite the fact that the only two guys on stage are Pat and Scott) for $3,200.
We momentarily bring back the $10,000 and a $3,489 package featuring Game Show Network and the necessary Sony equipment to watch. BIG SCREEN is up for grabs.
Karen & Phyllis get a cool five grand thanks to the food that's INDESCRIBABLY DELICIOUS. For another two racks, can they identify the slogan?
Nope. One sister says she doesn't know, the other guesses Sara Lee. It's actually for Mounds/Almond Joy.
*The quality of the video I'm using is so poor, I can't determine which $250 wedge was landed on. I don't think anyone really cares, but I like having it right for archival purposes.
Elvia & Karen solve DAVID & SHAUN CASSIDY fpr the TV package.
Scott & Pam get on the board thanks to a GINGERBREAD HOUSE.
DING-DING! DING-DING!
We do have time for a fifth round, but it's going to have to start as a Speed-Up. Vowels are worth nothing, but consonants are worth... $5,000!
Elvia & Karen: N (x3 - $15,000)
Karen & Phyllis: G (DUD!)
Scott & Pam: R (DUD!)
Elvia & Karen: T (x4 - $35,000)
Karen & Phyllis: M (DUD!)
Scott & Pam: S ($5,000)
Elvia & Karen: E (x1)
I'm sure Elvia & Karen are happy they went through the CONTESTANT AUDITION now, $35,000 richer.
Elvia & Karen obviously won more than $6,650, so they'll be back tomorrow. However, we still have five prizes we want to give away, with any of these prizes:
A Volvo Wagon worth over $35,000!
An annuity of $20,000!
A 1997 Volvo 850 worth over $36,000!
A trip to Ireland worth over $18,000!
...and $25,000 in cash!
Pat incorrectly says that before the $35,000, they only had the TV package and no cash.
W H E E L
RSTLN E give two letters...
DMC A... give a critical letter.
They're already murmuring the answer to each other, but Pat still goes through the motions, and after time starts, they say ICICLE for the VOLVO SEDAN! The 1997 Volvo 850 T5 Turbo Sport Sedan is worth $36,576!
Altogether, Elvia & Karen have won $78,265 in cash and prizes!
Pat Chat: After a plug for a contestant interview in Omaha, Pat reminds the viewers about the Friday Finals, and then says bye.
