From the Hilton Hawaiian Village, it's America's Game!
WHEEL OF FORTUNE
HAWAII
EPISODE #3043
Here are today's contestants!
Suzanne Hark is from Kula, HI. She has a wonderful husband, Larry, and two children, Shane & Roxanne. She's lived on Maui for 19 years. She does hula, and even danced in the Hula Bowl with 750 other dancers.
Judson Lao is from Waipio, HI, but Pat is fine calling him Jud. He doesn't hula, but he was born and raised on Maui. He's been married to Kelly for two years, and has a five-month-old son, (Pat talks over the name, the best I can hear is Kelsey). He's a sales representative for a clothing line, sunglass line, and some bikini lines.
Lianne Rand is from Honolulu, HI. She's an outside sales representative for a publishing company, but by night, she's a Polynesia performer. She's been doing it for 25 years, and loves to do it.
There are also three guest PGA golfers who are participating in the Sony Open Golf Tournament in Oahu- Len Mattiace, who almost won the Player's Championship last year, Bob Friend, who golf runs through the family, and is a graduate of LSU and the Nike Tour, and Dan Forsman, a 17-year veteran and four-time winner on the PGA tour.
Lianne can be GETTING A HOLE IN ONE with her $2,150. Can she make it $5,150 with this Puzzler?
Lianne mumbles, but can't see the FAIRWAY.
Round 2 adds some Maui Jim sunglasses, along with some cash, making this ultimate BEACH PARTY worth $2,500!
Lianne solves THIS YEAR FEBRUARY HAS ## DAYS for $1,200! For $2,000 more, can she fill in the number?
She chooses incorrectly with 29. It might be in a leap year, but 1999 (or even 1998, depending on how early they taped) has 28.
Round 3 adds the Jackpot and some HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLES accessories and a Harley-Davidson 883 sportster worth $10,300!
*According to the rules back then, if a contestant calls a vowel after they've spun, they lose their turn. I've seen this before, and it's happened again.
Suzanne forgets about the wheel and solves TED DANSON AS BECKER for $2,200.
We're short on time, so we're starting round 4 immediately as a Speed-Up. Vowels are worth nothing, but consonants are worth $600 ┌.
Suzanne: T (DUD!)
Judson: S (x2 - $1,200)
Lianne: R (DUD!)
Suzanne: D (DUD!)
Judson: L ($1,800)
Lianne: W ($600)
Suzanne: N ($600)
Suzanne probably has never used a SNOW SHOVEL during her time in Hawaii.
Pat says he looks like Thurston Howell IV, and wants Lianne to win either a car or the $25,000.
W H E E L
RSTLN E gives a bit of help...
BFG O gives a couple Bs.
Lianne says BLUEBARB right away, and after mumbling, yells out BLUEBIRD! She's won the MINI VAN! It's a Chrysler Town and Country Limited worth $32,360!
$35,710! Lianne's brother, Randy, and (I just can't hear the relation), Wayne.
Pat Chat: Vanna mentions that they've had some enthusiastic players this week, and Pat mentions he lost a disc and an eardrum just today. Sony is also donating $5,000 to each of these golf players' selected charities:
Len Mattiace - America Lung Association of Florida
Bob Friend - Friends of Hawaii
Dan Forsman - Friends of Hawaii
