From the Sony Pictures Studio, it's America's Game!
WHEEL OF FORTUNE
PUERTO RICO
EPISODE #3060
Here are today's contestants!
Mark Horniak is from Clinton, CT. He just got a new job with a financial service company. He missed his first day of work to get on Wheel of Fortune. He has a beautiful wife, who's seven months pregnant, and another daughter, fourteen-month-old Julia.
Robert Golden is from Santa Monica, CA. He is a sales manager for a company in Los Angeles. He used to do blast over pressure testing when he was in the Air Force. At a Kirtland base in New Mexico, they put soldiers in a pressurized chamber, blew up C4, and then tested their hearing. He volunteered for this, and it was good pay.
Jessica Clay is from Dacula, GA. It's 45 minutes north of Atlanta. She's a junior at Barry College in Rome, GA. She's majoring in communication (or broadcasting) and Spanish, and also works at her school's TV station.
Mark, $550 might be enough to hire a SCULPTOR for $550. Can he chisel out another $3,000 by identifying this Puzzler?
So, I didn't look at the puzzles beforehand and didn't know CHISEL was the actual answer. Mark also identifies it, bringing his total to $3,550!
Round 2 adds an ENTERTAINMENT center from Sony! It includes a 35-inch Trinitron stereo TV, a hi-fi stereo VCR, and max TV surround sound audio system. It's worth $4,814!
Robert solves THIS CITY IS THE CAPITAL OF CANADA for $1,550! He'll get $2,000 more if he can pick correctly from these three cities:
Ottawa?
Montreal?
Toronto?
Robert picks Toronto... wrong. His second guess is Montreal... which is also wrong. He can't believe it's OTTAWA. Robert asks why it's Ottawa, and Pat retorts that he should ask Alex Trebek.
Along with the Jackpot, added to the wheel is an equestrian vacation to Devon, ENGLAND. A lucky contestant might stay at the Cross Country International on this $5,838 trip!
Mark knows that on Wheel, WE WON'T BE UNDERSOLD.
DING-DING! DING-DING!
We just can't figure out that before! Vowels are worth nothing, but consonants are worth... $600 ┐.
Robert: F (DUD!)
Jessica: D ($600)
Mark: N (x2 - $5,300)
Don't DINNER ROLL YOUR EYES- you don't want to get a yeast infection or something. Mark has another $5,300 and the win!
W H E E L
Pat notes that's an interesting configuration. Unfortunately, RSTLN E is less interesting...
CFM I gives two letters, including a critical one.
Mark says IN A FEW, IN A FAR, IN A FLU, IN A FAX, IN A FOB, and near the buzzer IN A FOG. They're going to have to replay the tape to see if he wins.
Pat Chat: The ruling is... too late. He was a second away from winning, and he still leaves with $13,050, but he'll miss out on a trip to PUERTO RICO.
