He’s such an interesting guy to say the least.

Those were some predictable missolves, but a decent maingame all around. And I thought SUSHI BURRITO was an odd puzzle (even though I have heard of them).

Another tough bonus puzzle solved. I only had the second word with the A's, thrown off thinking the first word would be the animal and the second would be CHILD. He's absolutely right that he's not that dumb.

This week, it won the bonus round 3 times in a row. Will it be the Perfect Bonus Round Week? We don't know yet.

They took the Round 1 solution the wrong way.

Some fun going ons happening before this show started. Our friend asked Jim about the Wheel episodes now being on Pluto TV and how he felt about that. Jim didn't know what that service was, so they were basically teaching him about how the system works and what they have. He doesn't get any residuals for that, nor does he for the slot machine (though imagine the paycheck if he did). We also had one of the future contestants do a pretty solid impression of Jim Thornton. It is also really nice to have him point out and acknowledge a lot of the crew on stage, whether it's lighting, cameras, audiences, producers, it was one of the regular things that he'd mentioned throughout these tapings.

Yeah, the show was a mess. They showed some of it, but there was more that got cut. Starting with the interviews, Jacqueline had part where she talks about knowing her roommates, her parents, all her life; Renee I thought had kids and that doesn't seem like something they should've edited out. Tanino mentioned he's a sommelier and it's very weird that that got cut because they bring it up at the end of the show and that's why they talk about wine. It was the thing I remembered about him the most and I was surprised that it got cut out.

That being said, R2 and R3 did take a long time and I see why they had a hard time editing it. Didn't think anything of R1 other than getting it early. I just think of the Katy Perry lyric and I don't think there was a null cycle there.

Oh dear, R2 was rough. I wasn't a fan of the puzzle and thought that something like that missolve might have happened. I want to say they had the 10K, but it wouldn't have mattered. R3 went on far longer than they showed on TV. It was agonizing waiting these people not call the P even though it fit the puzzle. They tried every other letter and it had to have been a couple null cycles before someone thought to call the P. Tanino even hit 3500 and we were hoping he could redeem himself and call it, but instead it was another dud. If you wondered what that comment was for at the end of the round, now you know.

Very impressive BR solve, Pat makes a comment about thinking he would say PEELING A KOALA that I'm bummed also got cut, and at least this one had a happy ending. Tanino had a good presence and we were hoping to get more screen time for him, though we had no time for that.

And that was it for half one, we got out with a photo or two downstairs, and we headed back. Heard that the old stage manager had retired as we walked back, and then we got prepared for half two. A little later than expected, but eh, it was day one. We were going to make the most of it.

I would love to know where he got that information from, because everything's aired in order so far.
