WWE Week taped today, and Bellamie Blackstone posted some pictures on her Instagram. One of the pictures shows the week's logo (the WOF logo with the W from the WWE logo) with the word "TOURNAMENT" underneath, partially obscured by Maggie. Bellamie deleted the post twice. First, she re-uploaded the pictures and blurred out what was visible of "TOURNAMENT". Then she re-uploaded them again, this time excluding the picture of her with WWE champion Bianca Belair. Here are all the pictures from Bellamie's original post. Her current post with the blurred picture is linked below. Through various pictures posted yesterday, at least 13 WWE stars were present at the tapings, 10 of which are known to be competing on the show. The other three did not have name tags, so it's possible they were only there to watch or film promos or non-gameplay segments. The stars will have name tags with WWE logos and will go by their wrestling names rather than their real names. Confirmed contestants: Bianca Belair Bayley Liv Morgan Sonya Deville Austin Theory Big E Drew McIntyre Natalya Neidhart Carmella The Miz (reappearing from CWOF)
Present at taping but unknown if playing: Maryse Mizanin (The Miz's wife) Kofi Kingston Xavier Woods (previously on CWOF)
If the "tournament" is a revival of Friday Finals (which would be the first since 1999), there cannot be more than 12 stars competing. It's possible there is just an extra prize or honor for the week's highest winner, which has been done on celebrity/sports weeks before after Friday Finals was retired.

Unless, of course, two of the players competed as a team, which definitely isn't unprecedented in series history including teams mixed with solo players on celeb weeks. And two of the wrestlers on set ARE a Tag Team.

One of the stars' Instagram posts from the taping shows a partial glimpse of the screen that shows the current standings. The screen shows the names of a blue team, one of whom is named Tracina. AFAIK, there is no WWE star with that name, so it's likely a civilian. If the WWE stars are always listed second, this confirms Xavier Woods/Austin Creed is playing again. Given there's a lot of empty space on the top row of the yellow box from what we can see, it's quite possible the top is "KOFI &", or it could just be a civilian with a short first name. The WWE star on the red team here is likely Carmella, since she took the pic from about where the red position is.

At this point, I'm about 90% confident this week will see the resurrection of Friday Finals!
Someone on Twitter claims to have been in the audience for all five shows and gleefully went around in the replies of the stars' tweets spoiling most of the "bracket". I'm not going to say their handle or link the tweets because this could cause the civilians' winnings to be voided and should really be taken down.
Anyway, the tweets confirm they are all civilian/wrestler teams. They also confirmed "KK" is playing, separately from their tag team partner. They explicitly said in one tweet: "The finalists were X, Y, and Z" (note: these are not initials), and another tweet mentions "Y" beating two others in a separate match-up.
The only thing that's unclear is if Friday Finals will also apply to the civilians or just the wrestlers.

I can now confirm Friday Finals will be used for WWE Week, including for the civilians! I've been exchanging messages with the Twitter user who claimed to be there. Some more details: The winner of the finals wins a three-day VIP trip to Wrestlemania 39, regardless of whether they win the Bonus Round. They make it seem as if the contestant will head there straight from the studio. Maryse Mizanin did not play. She may have been an alternate, however. Miz and Xavier's CWOF appearances are both acknowledged. The Prize Puzzle all week is a trip to Wrestlemania XL in Philadelphia next year. Apparently, this was also offered during the finals game. An additional Gift Tag is present on the blue $550, representing other WWE-themed small prizes. One of them is tickets to any future WWE PPV event of the contestant's choice. This can be seen on the far right of this image: According to this person, the taping was severely slowed down with promos, photoshoots, and technical difficulties and didn't let out until 9:30 PM, as opposed to the usual 5-6 PM. One situation this person mentioned to me, which I'm not confident is true (there may be some miscommunication in the midst since he doesn't know Wheel's format that well): On Thursday's episode, after Round 2, one team's total score was not displaying correctly, and it took 45 minutes to correct. Gameplay-wise, Rounds 1 and 2 also took so long that they allegedly decided to completely skip playing Round 3, including the Prize Puzzle, and go straight to the Triple Toss-Up and Final Spin, the latter of which took seven attempts to land on a dollar amount.
This part doesn't sound legitimate to me. Omitting R3 on the spot could be an S&P issue, not to mention a major disadvantage toward qualifying for Friday Finals.

Really awesome that the producers weren't afraid to reach to the past as a format for this tournament. WWE and Wheel is, at first glance, quite an unusual crossover, but I'm sure there will be a lot of new eyes on the show because of it. Good on TPTB for being willing to take risks.

Like I’ve said in the discord, I’m really not sure what the point of this week is. It feels redundant since we already have a dedicated Celebrity series that has featured WWE stars (both of whom appearing on this week) and could have easily just stuck with the status quo.
The notion of Friday Finals is intriguing, however, I’d like it if they used it again for speciality contestant weeks (teachers, college, military, couples, etc.). Although it really does make it feel like they couldn’t find enough people to cast for this week, as evidenced by the fact that they were advertising the application as recently as last Tuesday, just over a week before taping, likely bypassing the regular audition process.
The second gift tag over $550 likely couldn’t go on the green $500 adjacent to it because the $600 one space over is a similar color, but will still likely award $500 as normal protocol.
What on earth could have happened to make a taping day run nearly 4 hours longer than normal? Surely a supposed shortened game and record-long final spin attempt wouldn’t do that alone. Maybe stuff for promotional material and extended interview segments?

Was a bit disappointed that I couldn't get an audition for this week, as it's a crossover of two of my favorite worlds, but very excited to see WWE Week, the wrestlers, the contestants and the potential Friday finals thing. I would love to see Wheel do more things like this that change it up!

As someone who's been a viewer of Wheel since 1986, and WWE(going back to the WWF days) since 1991, I'm actually a little worried how this will come off on TV.
It's mostly from the end of the wrestlers. I am PRAYING they don't go 'into character' on Wheel. Especially not at the expense of their civilian partners.
If that were to happen, I would think it would be somewhat damaging to both the Wheel of Fortune AND WWE brands.
It's why that, for that factor, I might have to skip watching this set of Wheel episodes. I would likely feel uncomfortable and awkward doing so.
I'm just hoping those here will understand, as I guess I never really completely got over the 'It's still real to me' part of what pro wrestling is, even after I found out the truth about it.

According to another witness, the Friday Finals will have a slight gameplay change due to the existence of a certain gameplay element that did not exist the last time Friday Finals was done, and would be redundant. The realization of this at the last moment is apparently what caused the long stopdown.

Yes that’s a major hint.

Apparently, this was also offered during the finals game. Offering such a prize on the Friday Finals makes no sense and is redundant. How the show didn't see that until they were about to crash into it...doesn't surprise me too much, actually. Really not sure why you couldn't have just spelled it (and what the show altered as a result, though I strongly doubt they were like "If we can't offer a guaranteed trip in Round 3, we'll skip Round 3!") out in spoilertext.

Well it seems like there will be no Prize Puzzle for the Friday Finals. They did the Prize Puzzle for the Friday Finals before it came permanent in Season 21. It is also nice to see R3 with just Express and no Prize Puzzle.

Wanna give credit to them for coordinating all this since Wrestlemania is in back in L.A. for the first time in a while, not far down the 405 at SoFi, and they're doing stuff here all week while this airs. Like ragnronc I too am curious about whether or not they'll be in character, but that seems unlikely. Not just because it could unfairly and unnecessarily mess up a player's game. I didn't catch Miz or Xavier on CWOF but generally whenever I see a wrestler on a "normal" program like a talk show these days they're not "on." I haven't really followed wrestling since I was in middle school, but my little brother still does so I hear a lot through him and his social media. Hoped this would get him to finally apply. Every once in a blue moon I'll put "RAW" or "Smackdown" on in the background while cooking or something, it's funny to me 'cause I feel like they've owned up to the camp/soap opera of it all more than back in the day. But maybe I'm just grown and can see past it now.
