I do wonder if after Vanna's contract expires if they are going to still have a hostess. I would think so, even though they can technically do without one by virtue of the puzzle board being fully electronic. Also it's been a tradition since the days of Woolery & Stafford for the host and hostess to have a little chit chat at the end of some episodes, and that would be a shame to see go away, but who knows... If they decided not to have someone to turn the letters, I suppose they could simply have someone like Maggie still doing social media, and have her on the set to interact with Ryan. Could even be something taped after the fact and edited in if they didn't want to have to do it daily.

I think it's more likely they would just eliminate the end chat and just do the plugs for their social media, website, or auditioning and then have Ryan sign off once Vanna retires and they were to decide to not have a new hostess.

Just to weigh in, one thing is perfectly clear: We will be watching in '24. Of course, I will be watching in '24! Here's hoping he gives it a good spin!

Funny, I see them TURN from a blank screen to a blue screen to a screen with a letter. Not physically turning like the old ones, but still turning different colors/patterns/shapes etc.!

That's not what that means...also, I think you need to check the batteries in your sarcasm detector.

I've always enjoyed Ryan, lol, so I'm excited to see him as host. I'm not sure how personally he'll connect with contestants, but I hope he's able to banter comfortably and actually seem like he's rooting for the contestants.

That's not what that means...also, I think you need to check the batteries in your sarcasm detector. Sarcasm detector must have been malfunctioning when the storms knocked the electric out Though the meaning would actually work, much as in the sentence "The driver stopped their vehicle when the light they were approaching turned red". Not the light physically moving but changing to a different color.

This is going to be a much more smooth transition than what Jeopardy did regarding its hosting situation. That being said, I could see some big changes to the show when Ryan Seacrest takes over as the emcee, such as: - The base of the wheel and framework around the puzzle board getting overhauled. The current LED-and-plexiglass borders were introduced in Season 21, and have remained that way since, even with the other set changes that followed.
- Music refresh. Wheel tends to update its music package far more often than Jeopardy does, with the exception being the 2006-2016 package. But knowing they brought back "Changing Keys" in Season 39, if there is a music change in Season 42, it'll probably be a new arrangement of "Changing Keys".
- New on-air graphics. Assuming they reuse the Season 40 graphics in Season 41 (given it'll be Pat's last season hosting), I wouldn't be surprise to see different graphics for Season 42. It appears they started going back to changing the graphics every season or every other season beginning with Season 39 when the category strips were finally redesigned after 13 years of using the design from Season 26.
