Most of the set overhauls occurred at the beginning of the season, including the two most recent ones – Season 26 (2009) and Season 30 (2013). But introducing a new set a few months into the season is nothing new. In fact, it happened twice. If you recall, the sushi bar and metallic sets were both introduced a couple months into Season 13 (1996) and Season 19 (2002), respectively. And given the season is starting with the postseason tournaments, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a new set being introduced after the conclusion of the ToC. And wouldn't it be absolutely cool if the new set looked like this?! I guess it could. If Cruiseshipz or any or all of the Game Show fans including myself, They would be surprised.

- An entirely-new set. I believe the show is long overdue for one because the current set actually dates back to Season 30, even with the slight modifications in 2020 and 2021.
- This set is exactly the same, even the lecterns are the same, albeit spaced apart rather than combined together. Plus, there were a few other modifications done for Covid. As for a new set, idk what a new one could look like. If you think about it, Wheel has essentially used the same set since 2006! The video board on the side with a blue boarder, the puzzle board still has a blue boarder, etc. Any changes to the set are usually during the specials (like when they gave the set a beach theme for Margaritaville week), or when they change the color to orange for the Celebrity Wheel.
- A completely different arrangement of both the main theme and Think! music. Like with the set, I think we're also overdue for a music package overhaul. Yes, the main theme was updated in Season 38, but it's based on the 2008 version; and the Think! cue even carried over from the '08 package (I don't think it matches the updated theme). Since Wheel reinstated "Changing Keys" as its main theme, Jeopardy! ought to do a modern rendition of the pre-2008 arrangements of the theme and Think! music, especially since this is a milestone season.
- It's probably just me, but I can't hear a difference between the 08 music package and the "new" one. It all sounds the same (although that horn noise heard right before you see the set after the opening animations play seems quieter, although you can still clearly make out the horn in the Celebrity Jeopardy opening).
- A new title card (and I think the show ought to resume changing the title card every season)
- The opening title card features various shots from Jeopardy! over the years. It even features a brief snippet of the Art Flemming era when the clue board would reveal itself after a string was pulled to move the curtains out of the way.
- The original board fill sound being brought back. If it's being used on Inside Jeopardy! podcasts, during the Jeopardy! Masters intro, and when Ken revealed to home viewers where the Daily Doubles are on the board, I don't see why they can't reinstate it on the show.
- It does seem weird that they still use aspects of this, yet they don't use it in the show itself anymore. This is my opinion, but they should bring back the 2009-2016 board fill sound. It sounded futuristic back when they used it, and it still does to this day. Complemented the 2009-2013 set well. It also worked well with the current set introduced in 2013. Also, what board fill sound was used from 2008-2009 (Season 25)? The lone Season 25 episode on Pluto does not show the board getting filled, so no sound is heard. Was it the original sound, or the 2009-2016 sound? 2008 did not feature a board fill effect as the dollar amounts were already prefilled for this season only. In addition, the board fill sound effect introduced in 2009 was used only until 2016, much to my surprise.
- Resume the Teen Tournament (even if it's renamed as the High School Tournament) and Teachers Tournament. Both have been on hold since Season 35 and Season 36, respectively.
- I forgot about these. Since Wheel of Fortune is apparently working on another kids version (would it be similar to Wheel 2000, who knows), I wonder if a kids version of Jeopardy a la Jep! would be brought back as a companion to this new kids Wheel.
- A special reunion tournament bringing back notable former champions. The winner takes home $1M, and this tournament ought to be Million Dollar Masters.
- Didn't they do this in the form of "Jeopardy: Greatest of all time" tournament in 2019-2020 (the last prime-time Jeopardy! special Alex Trebeck hosted before his death)? I believe whomever won that (Ken Jennings in this case) won 1 million. Idk if they would do this again as Amy Schneider and Mattea Roach have impressive wins (Schneider has 39 wins, placing her behind Jennings' 74 wins). To make this tournament work again, they would have to bring in three additional lecterns while Bialik hosts (as Jennings would be a contestant again alongside Holzhauer, Schneider, Roach, Rutter, and somebody else who had an impressive Jeopardy run), lol.
My reply is in the blue text above. I wonder if they'll make any changes between season 40-45 or if they even wait until season 50 to do so. Also, this is my first ever post here. I watched Jeopardy very occasionally in the past (as we ate/prepared dinner while KWQC aired it at 4:30 right before their 5:00 news), but now I've gotten much more into it, adding it to my YouTube TV DVR in case I can't watch the KFSM 5News broadcast of it live (I now reside in Arkansas since 2017).

If you think about it, Wheel has essentially used the same set since 2006! 2003. The current generic set was introduced in 2010. Also, the season 38 Jeopardy! theme has some differences (a different opening, more synth horns, and a lack of guitars, though the celebrity specials use a different guitar section). The think music is unchanged. Jeopardy!'s 25th season never used a board fill effect in any episode either.

Idk why they pre-populated the dollar amounts for that season only. Seems weird to do that, and then to revert to how its been in season 26.

The first episode of Season 40 has hit! Nothing has really changed. The set is still the same, the music is still the same, and the board-fill music used since 2016 lives on! I'll report later on the Final Jeopardy music.

FJ music still the same. Also ended with the older Sony Pictures animation. Season 39, I thought, did not.

Season 39 used an updated Sony Pictures Television Studios logo with the 2021 Sony motion logo.

Season 39 used an updated Sony Pictures Television Studios logo with the 2021 Sony motion logo. That's what I thought! I wonder why both Jeopardy! and Wheel went back to the old-style animation with the parallelogram shaped prison bar-style logo with the instrumental classical piece. Seems weird to me.

Something must have happened behind the scenes for them to bring it back. Besides, I really liked that new one.

Also, Wheel's current set has actually been used since 2003. 2) Only difference between the 2008 and 2021 themes is that the latter was recorded on some sophisticated composition software like Logic Pro as it's all synth based, whereas the former required actual musicians to record the music. Also, the 2021 theme has no guitars and saxophones on the syndicated version, and the version used on Celebrity Jeopardy and Inside Jeopardy podcasts features completely different guitar licks from those heard in the 2008 theme. 3) The opening graphics DO show clips from the show from over the years, but it's the same one used since Season 38. Normally, there's a new logo every season, which has been the case since the sushi bar set debuted. 4) There was no board fill sound at all in Season 25 since the dollar figures were already present on the board following the intros. The original sound effect was retired at the end of Season 24, and it was actually Season 26 when the 2009-2016 board fill sound debuted.

I also find it striking that Jeopardy! from 1997 to 2002 had a sliding door Alex came out of, much like the one seen from 2009-2013. Seems weird they'd introduce it, drop it, bring it back, and then drop it once again.
2. Ah, ok. I guess I do not remember there being saxophones in the 2008-2021 theme.
3. Yeah. I thought for sure Season 40 would bring changes to that, and even the set, but I guess not.
4. Yeah, I know this now. For a brief moment, I thought the Pluto TV broadcast had, for some reason, cut out the population of the dollar figures, lol. I wonder why this was done. Either they were trying something new, or maybe it was because the 2009-2016 sound effect was being heard when they did the CES shows in Vegas with the new set, who knows.

Judging from the fact Sarah says "19 boxes" (there are 19 "boxes" in the current opening), I'm betting this is another variation of the Season 38/39/40 opening. I could be wrong though.

that’s awesome. wondering if they’ll keep the globe or go with a different route. either way, any change is good. love to see it. Either way, this will be only the second time that a new logo is introduced midway into an ongoing season. The last time this happened was in Season 13 when the opening sequence during the first two months was the same as Seasons 11 and 12 and a new logo debuted on the November 11 episode, the first show with the sushi bar set.

this was the logo that was posted on the Jeopardy! website. seems like the globe is staying, but the text is positioned on the left instead. excited to see how the intro looks.
