Yep. The next 7:30 pregame on ABC, if they still have them, won't be until either November 20 or December 11. Those days were supposed to have ABC games from the beginning, though Futon Critic never listed a pregame for the former. Xfinity listings for WABC still have Wheel at 7:30 on 11/20. Although WRIC claimed Wheel would be pre-empted that day, it was likely an assumption on their part, since 11/20 was the only day out of all the days ABC had a national game (before deciding to have one every week) that did not have a pregame show scheduled. There is still pregame scheduled on 12/11 during Secret Santa, though. Arguably a rare time Wheel is more important to air than Jeopardy! (especially if they still announce the actual SPIN ID's this year and don't just put up a QR code) |

Xfinity listings for WABC still have Wheel at 7:30 on 11/20. Not anymore. 😡 ABC added pregame that day, though it's still not listed on Futon Critic. After that, there will be more 7:30 pre-emptions on December 11, December 25 (that one's understandable because the pregame bridges the gap between NBA and NFL), Saturday December 30, Saturday January 6 (between two games of a doubleheader), and January 15. |

If ABC plans to also have national MNF games with 7:30 pregame specials next year, this will pre-empt Ryan Seacrest's first episode as host in many markets. There's good news and bad news on this front. The bad news is: at least two MNF on ABC broadcasts will be preceded by pregame at 7:30 PM ET, pre-empting Wheel in many key markets. The good news is: Ryan's debut will not be impacted on the East Coast. From what I have seen/heard, ABC appears to be taking advantage of the fact that his debut will be leading into MNF on the O&O's. My Xfinity app does list the season premiere on WABC at the normal time; last year, it was skipped from the very start, before ABC publicly announced any plans for pregame. As we knew from the CWOF renewal, MNF will not be on ABC every single week this season. It will air nationally on ABC on the following days, with all games starting at 8:15 PM ET except where noted: - September 9 - NYJ @ SF (S42 premiere, Ryan's debut)
- September 23 - WAS @ CIN
- September 30 - SEA @ DET
- October 28 - NYG @ PIT
- December 9 - CIN @ DAL
- December 16 - CHI @ MIN [GAME STARTS AT 8:00 ET, PREGAME AT 7:30]
- December 30 - DET @ SF
- (SAT) January 4 - Doubleheader TBD
- January 13 - Super Wild Card [PREGAME AT 7:30 ET]
The December one will likely impact Secret Santa if that's still a thing in S42. Still, at least the East Coast only gets two weekday episodes impacted, compared to seven last year (counting Christmas). The West Coast is also better off with eight impacted episodes this season compared to last season's seventeen, and that's not counting the Wednesday Night Basketball deal with the NBA in January 2024. |

It seems I spoke too soon...  Per the Jeopardy! subreddit, ABC is in fact airing pregame at 7:30 PM ET on Monday, September 9. Only the three Eastern Time Zone O&O's are opting out of it: WABC, WPVI, and WTVD. All other 7:30 ET/6:30 CT airings of Wheel on ABC affiliates, including O&O WLS, are expected to be pre-empted, despite all the promos, and probably at least a couple 7:00 airings on stations that consider Wheel bottom game show priority. Vanna and Ryan are even appearing on Kelly & Mark that day despite everything, and WKRN participated in the RSTLNE promotional campaign a while back (which explicitly announced the season premiere date) despite them being impacted by this; I believe WLS did too. WKRN won't even get to air Wheel until Wednesday because of their Titans partnership. |

I called WTNH, a non-O&O station. Their programming manager confirms there is NO pregame on September 9, only the two in December and January. The S42 premiere will air at 7:30 as normal, at least on that station. Any listings of “Monday Night Countdown” are very likely a mistake.
Also worth noting that the listings that do list the pregame do not have any accommodation for either WOF or J! even if the station always makes them up. For example, J! would have been pre-empted on WVII in Bangor, Maine and would normally move to WFVX, but it is not listed at all on either station.
