Actual gameplay changes for Big Money Week are back for the first time since 2012! I was in the audience for the entire Big Money Week, also celebrating episode #S-8000. The week is sponsored by BetMGM. First off, some changes with the top dollar value structure for this week. $5000 moves to Round 3, and Round 4 introduces a gold $8000 wedge as top value, in honor of the 8,000th episode. Friday is the only day where Round 4 does not start with the Final Spin. Another exciting change is the addition of a Jackpot. Not the same concept of Jackpot that we saw from 1996-2013, but definitely inspired by it. Each day of the week, there is a progressive Jackpot starting at $8,000. It increases by the value of each spin from Rounds 1-3, regardless of whether or how often the consonant is there. Hitting the Wild Card adds $500, Mystery adds $1,000, and Express also adds $1,000, but only for initial hit and not for any other letters if the contestant hops on. The Million Dollar Wedge I believe adds nothing. The Jackpot is shown at the top-center of the board shots throughout the first three rounds on a readout that looks something like this. The Jackpot total is also shown at the end of each of the first three rounds going into commercial. The Jackpot is awarded to the day's winner if they win the Bonus Round, in addition to whatever is in the envelope. Players also have a chance to win double the jackpot with two Double Jackpot wedges on both purple $500's. There is no Prize wedge for this week. If you land on a wedge, pick it up, solve with it, avoid Bankrupts, and take it to the Bonus Round, the Jackpot will be doubled. Only one wedge is needed. The wedges are not put back on the Wheel if they're lost. Landing on this wedge adds $1,000 to the Jackpot, but it only awards $500 per consonant. It didn't happen, but presumably, landing on one wedge while carrying the other would have counted as a $1000 wedge. The Double Jackpot wedges look approximately like this. Even though it looks like an "Oreo" wedge, it is not.

Yes! Finally some gameplay changes for Big Money Week! $75,000 is now permanent as you know now. A $8000 wedge! I was wondering if there would be a $8000 wedge for S-8000. Since Wheel 6000 had a $6000 wedge. But there was no $7,000 wedge for the 7,000th episode. And $5,000 moves to Round 3! A possible $9000 Final Spin! I do want to see someone land on it once. Nobody landed on the $6000 wedge. A new Jackpot wedge! This is the third time they have done a Jackpot wedge! The daytime version had one, the nighttime of course had one from 1996-2013, and now this! The way this works is interesting. It starts at $8,000 in honor of show S-8000. I don't know which version of the Jackpot I like better. This one, or the 1996-2013 version. The 1996-2013 version was more difficult to win. This is kind of similar to XL because money is being added to the Bonus Round Prize. On Friday's episode that didn't start with a Final Spin, they didn't add the value of each spin from Rounds 4+? Now, I do like that ever since Harry left, there have been some gameplay changes for special weeks each season. I know Harry didn't want to do any gameplay changes for special weeks after Wheel 6000. Here's a list of some gameplay changes for special weeks since Season 28: Season 28: The Half Car tags are tried out on Road Trip week. Season 29: The $65,000, $75,000, and $85,000 envelopes. Season 30: Two gift tags for the first time since Season 24 for NBA week. Season 31: $6000 wedge for Wheel 6000 Seasons 32-37: No changes for any special weeks. Seasons 38 and 39: The Home on Home Sweet Home Week. Season 40: XL Weeks Season 41: The cruise for National Geographic Expeditions week, and now this! Now, I know I saw someone else on the boards thought about this idea, but a wedge to take to the Bonus Round that allowed players a chance to have two $100,000 envelopes instead of just one. Now, I see why they kept the purple $500 where the Gift Tag is. It is used for special gameplay elements now. I thought it should've returned to being $550 like before Season 31.

^ Any spins in Rounds 4+, including Final Spins, do not count towards the Jackpot, and the Double Jackpot wedges are removed after Round 3.

we're nearing a week late for the April Fools joke
However, i'll give this the benefit of the doubt seeing its the 6th (or 7th in the Europe/Aisa/Australia/etc half of the globe)

Wow, Big Money Week is definitely sounding exciting! I hope we get at least one Double Jackpot win and $8,000 wedge hit.

^ Well, MarioGS said it was gold. I assume it is in the same style as the other top dollar values. So I guess it will look like the $5000 wedge on CWOF. I know the $6000 wedge used on Wheel 6000 was not in the same style as the other wedges.

i was meaning to ask if anyone's done the $8000 wedge for the sake of art/game projects at this point (and i'm asking this here to not let spoilers out of a spoiler thread in the forums)

The Jackpot space looks really nice, just would be that much nicer without the Bet MGM logo. The $8,000 wedge looks great too.

We know the count is not correct but Friday, May 24th will be what they are officially calling show # S-8000.

Another change to this week…the first ever audience filled with former contestants! Myself included. We started out happy, knowledgeable, friendly and by the 5th show we were loud, crazy, raucous! I had the best time, and hopefully they’ll acknowledge our presence next week. Including our picture in front of the puzzle board. They don’t do that often. Got to meet MarioGS in person & thank him for his part in creating this forum.. (from an introvert turned winner)

Landing on this wedge adds $1,000 to the Jackpot, but it only awards $500 per consonant. Correction: Double Jackpot does award $1,000 per consonant.
