Not only is round 3 a historic round, but Pat makes a humorous jab at Charles' modeling of the prize wedge he picks up. I guess this was around the time they started doing it, and it's something I've never liked, mainly because it's obvious the contestants are told to do it. I understand all game show contestants are coached or directed to some extent, but reactions like this one should come off naturally and never be forced.

Angela had the Wild Card and it seemed like Pat cut himself off from mentioning it after she had an opportunity to use it to claim the $25K again. Unless this was taped way out of order after they changed the rule, but someone did use the Wild Card on the Big Money Wedge in one of the NYC episodes.

It also speaks to one of the fatal presentation flaws of the big money wedge in that the cash amount is treated like a regular prize, but it is spendable as opposed to something like a gift tag or mystery wedge. A better way to present it would've been to keep the rotating amounts, but once claimed, have the contestant pick up some kind of gift tag esque token and treat it like a regular prize.

^You're right about that, and it was done that way during the first week, with "Big Money" bars appearing on the scoreboard rather than cash in the bank. This can be seen on the September 13th episode, and they should've just kept it like that. Season 25 was probably the last season that I absolutely loved from start to finish. Season 30 had potential, but 25 was a real classic and had unique elements that I really like... Big Money Wedge, 25 Wedge, occasional double-wide $2500, etc. The show has never been the same since MDW was incorporated... that one element alone held the show back in many ways IMO. No offense to the 4 million dollar winners, I'm sure they're very glad it was there.

Never noticed that until just rewatching the episode. Wonder why they reverted course from treating it as a normal prize to having it be spendable. It doesn't make much sense considering the money was never able to be multiplied like a regular cash wedge.
