Now I have another October episode of Wheel of Fortune to recap and this episode was 10 days before Diane started her 3-day run!
-----------------------------------------
The famous wheel is spinning, spinning, and spinning, and you are reading, reading, and reading this recap, as over $157,000 can be won on this episode of Wheel of Fortune!
Veronica Michim: A freelance writer who likes to write... mystery. I like that in a contestant... ;D
Ed Hendricks: He's a sales consultant for a communications (?) company.
Alan Miller: Once again in the blue, we have a returning 2-day champion; his winnings total is rather low, $19,250, and it's all cold, hard cash.
Will Alan be a three day champion? Will Veronica pwn him? Will Ed pwn both of them? Find out... right now!
There's a $1,000 wedge on the wheel, along with the Bankrupt few people want. The first puzzle is HUGE, and it's Before & After.
Veronca starts by putting up THE, the letters, not the word, but her spins were getting closer and closer to Bankrupt, and eventually, she got it. Ed controls the rest of the round and racks up...
He's got this one and he solves SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW TROUT for $3,250. And Pat will never feel the same way listening to SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW again.
Veronica:
Ed: $3,250
Alan:
Bankrupts: 1 (Veronica - $2,750)
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 0
Missolves: 0
Round 2 is here, so that means we have $2,500 on the wheel and joining it is some pictures and paintings from Tamar Arts, worth double the top dollar (maked ART on wheel). And now, the Round 2 puzzle is a Thing.
Ed gets to spin, but lands on the blue $300 and can't get an N. Alan lands on the yellow $500 but cannot have a T. After getting a bit of money, Veronica lands on the Art and picks it up! But she calls a dud C after getting the Art. Ed gets to do some work and then he lands on $2,500! And for $2,500 per letter, he calls an R... and there are two! But after buying the Es, he loses all of his money, almost $5,000, darn. Alan takes advatage of this opportunity...
And this amount of money probably won't give you HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, but Alan solves that one for $1,150.
Veronica:
Ed: $3,250
Alan: $1,150
Bankrupts: 1 (Ed - $4,900)
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 3 (Veronica - C - $0), (Ed - N - $0), (Alan - T - $0)
Missolves: 0
After two low scoring rounds, we have to bring in the big money, so $3,500 is on the wheel! And the next puzzle is a big Thing, comes with an apostrophe too.
Alan does some work, he lights up TOES (letters, not the word), and then when he lands on the pink $500, he says "I'd like to buy an R". There are four of them but I think he would rather have $2,000 added then deducted...
And after that, he wants to buy an N... and then an M!
But he's still going and then we have this.
And despite wanting to buy three consonants, he solves TOMORROW MORNING'S NEWSPAPER for $6,950!
Veronica:
Ed: $3,250
Alan: $8,100
PERFECTION!
Bankrupts: 0
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 0
Missolves: 0
Nighttime Wheel's most notable wedge is on the wheel along with a mink coat presented by Vanna White herself! And that coat is worth $9,000! (marked FUR on the wheel)
And the category for this puzzle is a Phrase, Veronica now has the chance to get on the board. Her turn doesn't last long though... she duds with a T while on the orange $200. Ed spins and lands on $200's neighbor, $500, and calls a bad N. Now Alan gets to spin and his first spin BARELY hangs on to $5,000, but he spun it! And he gets a trio of Rs! But when he lands on the blue $250, he CAN'T have "an" K, putting $14,750 on the line. Play goes back to Veronica, who hits Lose a Turn immediately. Ed gets his turn back and he fills in the first word, but then misses with an L on $800. Alan gets his turn back and he still has a ton of money...
And he wants to claim it all, so he solves REFRESH MY MEMORY for $14,750!
Veronica: Unlucky
Ed: $3,250
Alan: $22,850
Bankrupts: 0
Lose a Turns: 1 (Veronica - $200)
Duds: 4 (Veronica - T - $200), (Ed (2) - N, L - $0, $450), (Alan - K - $14,750)
Missolves: 0
There's no time for Round 5, so Alan gets to go to the Bonus Round to try and get a win for the first time in his three days. All 5 prizes are available including a BMW convertible worth over $35,000, an Island Vacation worth $26,000, a Grand Touring motorhome worth over $34,000, 18 karat gold watches worth over $22,000, and then, of course, the $25,000 in cash! All five cards are available, obviously, and Alan wants the first E. His final Bonus Round puzzle is a Thing.
Let's see if there's a generous amount of RSTLNE.
And they have been generous. Alan picks C, D, G, and O as his three consonants and a vowel.
And Alan loses ALL of his Bonus Rounds, he couldn't figure out that it was a LIBRARY BOOK.
And he loses out on the motorhome, but he still has $42,100 all cash and he is an undefeated champion!
Note: The scoreboard miscalculates Alan's three-day winnings as $35,450. Charlie later points out that Alan's three-day winnings are atually $42,100.
