The Daytime show that was 5 days before Christmas is now here for me to recap!
-------------------------------------
Look at this studio, filled with fabulous prizes, a bunch of goodies to prchase including... a $4,480 one week Dude Ranch trip! A $7,700 car that's good for the economy! And, a small $1,995 Roadster! Over $52,000 just waiting to be won tonight, as Teen Week begins on... Daytime Wheel of Fortune That Ain't Cheap! And now these three teenagers have hopefully been nice in 1987 because they will be winning some prizes.
Joey Reedman: A freshman and his hobbies include using the computer (a great hobby), traveling with his family, and bowling (another great hobby). ;D
Steve Lewis: He wants to be a teacher and that's all we'll know for now, non-family wise.
Samantha Goodier: Nothing interesting from this interview... keep moving.
So... one of these players might be able to take home all of the presents. Who's going to end up with the most presents? Who will get little to nothing for Christmas? And who will get a medium amount? Only one way to find out, so look down there.
Round 1, a cheaper wheel than Nighttime, but it still has that $750 wedge, which is the top dollar amount! And Bankrupt is neighboring it, very few people want that, but you won't lose your merchandise because once you buy a prize, you're forced to keep it. Now, here's the first puzzle of the day, it's an apostrophe on a Phrase.
And as usual, the player that wins the backstage draw goes first and that woud be Joey. He starts this round...
...and ends it quickly by solving WHAT'S ALL THE FUSS ABOUT for $2,200 to spend at the Skiing Camp Area.
Purchases:
TV & Radio - $370
Camera & Film - $363
Bears - $349
His & Her Sweaters $300
Diamond Pendnt - $500
Sports Goggles - $194
$124 on a Gift Certificate
Joey: $2,200
Steve:
Samantha:
EARLY PERFECTION!
Bankrupts: 0
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 0
Missolves: 0
Now it's Round 2 and that means $1,000 is on the wheel along with a few more high cash values. This puzzle's category is a Thing.
Steve starts this round and ends his turn quickly with a bad T on $100. Then Samantha spins her first spin of the night, but it ends up being Bankrupt. Back to Joey, who calls a dud N on $700. After that, Steve lights up the first two letters of the night, the Rs. But he spins again and calls a bad L on $100. And then Samantha calls a bad S on the red $300. Joey puts up the Ds, but then buys a dud E. Steve then fills in the rest of the consonants...
...and then racks up $1,000 with CARDBOARD BOX! He now gets to spend that money at the Christmas Gift Boutique.
Purchases:
Watches - $515
School Supplies - $322
Clock - $140
$23 on a Gift Certificate
Joey: $2,200
Steve: $1,000
Samantha:
Bankrupts: 1 (Samantha - $0)
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 5 (Joey (2) - N, E - $0, $1,150), (Steve (2) - T, L - $0, $200), (Samantha - S - $0)
Missolves: 0
Not much has been earned so far, but there's a $2,000 wedge and a $1,500 wedge to try and have some big winnings! But the Jackpot wedge has been, in a way, retired. Now, the next puzzle is a Phrase.
Samantha starts this round and she puts up a bunch of letters, but she ends up Bankrupting after all of that. Over to Joey, whose first spin hits the big one, which is good for a V! He fills in the majority of the puzzle...
...before solving I LOST THE BEST FRIEND I EVER HAD for $4,250! For the Daytime version, that's a huge amount, and he will spend all of that in the Outdoor Fun Area.
Purchases:
Video Package - $2,360
Ice Cream - $300
Toy Car - $354
Phones - $430
Ring - $350
Another Ring - $300
Cooker - $100
$56 on a Gift Certificate
Joey: $6,450
Steve: $1,000
Samantha: Unlucky
Bankrupts: 1 (Samantha - $2,600)
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 0
Missolves: 0
After back to back commercials, it's now time for the Bonus Round, where Joey could win even MORE! And he wants to play for the Trip to Orlando valued at $5,780. The puzzle he has to solve to win that trip is Things.
Now he has... RSTLNE, the same old letters, he chose them.
Well, it has filled in the majority of the puzzle, so can he win the trip?
Yes he did! Altogether, he has won $12,230 in prizes and if he's one of the three biggest winners of the week, he will return on Friday! Find out tomorrow if he does, when I recap Christmas Day, 1987!
