This is what I'll be doing on mornings and afternoons now, recaps of Season 25! Which is one of my favorite seasons, which included the great silver Jackpot wedge, great color layouts, the Big Money Wedge and more!
-------------------------------------------
It's the 25th Season Premiere of Wheel of Fortune and it's also Let's Party! Week, so let's party! And what better way to do that than a tossup?
This one's a Phrase and here we go!
*Corky rings in*
With $1,000 in his pocket, he says WE'RE OFF AND RUNNING!
Corky: $1,000
Amanda:
Jill:
Missolves: 0
Now let's meet our players who have chose the right Season to play the game in.
Allen Corky Hume: But we'll just call him Corky. He represents a swimming pool company. I'm guessing it's only successful every six months.
Amanda Garcia: She's a television news producer and she plays the violin and guitar in her spare time.
Jill Maxtrim: An artist and a stay at home mother. She owns an art business and has a 17 month old daughter.
These three players are here to win big and that can only happen if we continue playing, so the $2,000 tossup is right down there!
This tossup is living and it's a thing... how about a Living Thing puzzle?
*Jill hits the buzzer*
She knows about the KENTUCKY BLUEGRASS, so she gets $2,000 for it!
Corky: $1,000
Amanda:
Jill: $2,000
Missolves: 0
$2,500 is on the wheel next to some beautiful wedges and a few wedges down from it is tonight's featured prize: A vacation to Cancun from VacationCompare.com valued at $5,000 even! And there's an exclusive Season 25 wedge on the wheel, the "25" wedge. Land on that, pick it up, solve the puzzle, and you will get 25 of something. And for some stupid reason, they put it next to the $10,000 wedge, which is also on the wheel. First puzzle tonight is Before & After.
Jill won the second tossup, so she has earned the right to go first. But the first spin of the Season is a Bankrupt, unfortunately. Corky then duds with a T on that blue $600. Amanda puts up the first letters of the Season, but calls a bad N on the yellow $300. Jill makes the third dud tonight on the yellow $400, no Ls. Corky picks up that Cancun trip with two Ds, but has to give it back, thanks to a certain black wedge. Back to Amanda, who lands on the top dollar the first time this Season and it's good for two Cs! But then she buys a dud A. Jill has her turn back, but Bankrupts on the right side of the $10K wedge. Corky then puts up all but two letters and duds with an M. Amanda buys the I and while it's being put up...
...she decides to solve DISCO FEVER REDUCER for $6,050!
Corky: $1,000
Amanda: $6,050
Jill: $2,000
Bankrupts: 3 (Corky - Cancun Trip), (Jill (2) - both with $0)
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 4 (Corky - T - $0), (Amanda (2) - N, A - $1,550, $6,300), (Jill - L - $0)
Missolves: 0
It's time for the Jackpot Round, sponsored by Eggland's "So Called" Best Eggs. The Jackpot wedge climbs up with every dollar amount spun and to claim it, you have to land on that beautiful silver wedge, call a correct letter, and solve the puzzle. Here's the Jackpot Round puzzle, it's a Place and it just so happens to be a Prize Puzzle!
Corky starts this round and hopefully can make a redemption from his bad dud. However, he calls another bad dud after putting up a few letters, an N on the red $300. Later in the round, Amanda gets to pick up the 25 wedge by calling the Ss and behind it is what she could win and it is... a $2,500 Vegas.com gift certificate! But after buying the Os, she has to give that and $1,000 up. Jill finishes off the vowels after lighting up the P, but she duds wth an L. Corky lights up the G:
He solves GOURMET CHEESE SHOP for $2,150 and he can visit some gourmet cheese shops in Paris, France! That trip is worth $5,000!
Corky: $8,150
Amanda: $6,050
Jill: $2,000
Bankrupts: 1 (Amanda - $1,000 + 25 Wedge)
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 2 (Corky - N - $1,250), (Jill - L - $100)
Missolves: 0
Jackpot Not Won: $9,300
The Mystery Round is here and the Big Money Wedge is also in this round which can be worth up to $25,000 at one time! It's a flat rate though and after money is won from it, it goes to $1,000, but that is not a flat rate. And here's the Round 3 puzzle, it is Song Lyrics.
Amanda starts by getting an S worth $3,500 and buying the A. Then, she picks FIVE Ts on the Party City Gift Tag. Soon after that bad move, she picks up the Free Spin with a D and she also gets $300 for it. After putting up more than 75% of the letters, she hits Bankrupt to lose $6,050, but she decides to use the Free Spin. She puts up the M...
She tells everyone to DON'T STOP THINKING ABOUT TOMORROW for $450, which gets bumped to the $1,000 house minimum.
Corky: $8,150
Amanda: $7,050
Jill: $2,000
Bankrupts: 1 (Amanda - $6,050)
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 0
Missolves: 0
$3,000 can be given away here, but in order to do that, an In the Kitchen puzzle must be solved.
*Corky ring in*
He's getting $3,000 more since he solved RECIPE FILE.
Corky: $11,150
Amanda: $7,050
Jill: $2,000
Missolves: 0
Pat tells us that the next category is Event and that time is running out!
He's going to give the wheel a final spin. And here's the puzzle.
Corky: Starts the Round.
Amanda: Bad at letter picking.
Jill:
Final Spin Result:
$600
Vowels are worth $1,600 less than what consonants are worth. Consonants are valued at $1,600 a piece when you add the $1,000 to it.
Amazingly, no one duds and after three calls, Corky puts up the N...
He solves TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN, racking up $6,400 more!
Corky: $17,550
Amanda: $7,050
Jill: $2,000
LATE PERFECTION!
Bankrupts: 0
Lose a Turns: 0
Duds: 0
Missolves: 0
Medium-High Maingame Winnings: $26,600
Corky won this main game so he gets to go to the Bonus Round and spin that Bonus Wheel with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of six figures, $100K. Where it ends up... the A in CASH. The first Bonus Round puzzle of the Season has a rather good category... In the Kitchen.
As usual, the RSTLNE package will be given before he chooses some additional help.
A twosome of free letters, so C, D, P, and A are what he chooses to get some more letters up there.
And they are all DUDS. Absolutely no help, but can there be a miracle solve?
No miracle solves tonight and not even a good guess... ALUMINUM FOIL, TIN FOIL, and BOLOGNA BALL are what he guesses and those all have failed. And what he lost was... the $100,000! Ouch... but he won $17,550 cash and trip.
