This is the start of their 27th season from Las Vegas! And this is the first season w/ a new wedge replacing the Free Spin.

Beginning this season, the opening round is now the specialty round we used to see in R2.
Jackpot Round - PEOPLE
This is the new season w/ the Free Play Wedge that replaces the Free Spin. If a player lands on it, he/she may call any letter they want (including vowels; consonants are worth $500 each) or try to solve their puzzle. If he/she calls a dud, repeats a letter, or missolves the puzzle, he/she keeps her turn. Pat then throws the Free Spin away on camera!
Michelle leads off w/ a negative in S. Secondly, Todd finds two T's but he and Davina miss w/ R and N, respectively. Michelle puts up an M and three E's, but she then becomes the first BANKRUPT victim of the season on the MDW's right side to lose $300. Back to Todd who fills in four L's and two A's before we see...
