We asked her that in the chatroom. Either she doesn't remember or cu couldn't give her the OK to say so.

Not only that, but they STILL use the old number font that was retired in 2003. What, you think Wheel would actually try to get with the times? They still think offering $1,000,000 means they have to use a cold, dark set and the crappy generic music they've been using since Friedman decided Merv's cues weren't good enough for Wheel (but not Jeopardy!, oh no...).

I like that they've changed the area around the Topkcaj wedge. It just looked weird flanked by two $500s, since it offered $500 per letter if you didn't get the Jackpot. I also like that they've added more $x50 values. It's starting to look like the template for my HYO in that regard.

One other thing talked about in chat - the BR picture-in-picture shot of the contestant. The circled border in that shot will be used visually as a timer, the border changing color as the 10 seconds tick.

Look at the red podium. There are two vertical bars on either side of the screen there, but not on the yellow screen. Ah, that. I thought you meant the bar across the top.

A possible visualization of the new BR "timer": I agree with Bobby. I didn't like how there were only 3 $x50 wedges until now. Though I'm starting to have doubts towards that supposed red $500. That's A LOT of $500. Could it be something like...gasp! $750? We'll see. Grilledcheese, see if you can note what red cash wedge they replace the Jackpot with when you tape your show.

Thoughts on the wheel changes? The amount of green $500 spaces is astounding. As with all WOF fans that like the old-school stuff, I'm glad $650 is making its nighttime debut. I honestly feel it's a bit awkward with $450 being cornered by two $500 spaces. Also guys, we don't actually know what's under that Jackpot space. Just saying. (I myself hope for something like $750)

The intro music may have been remixed. I was told that it was definitely the same tune, but the orchestration sounded different in-studio. Best to wait until air to determine for sure. Is it the same intro music used since Season 25? And are they still using the 2006 Happy Wheels or is there a new arrangement of it?

By the way, Sanam, remember when I said this? Now, of course, I owe you an explanation: Todd Russell hosted a 1952-53 game show on CBS also called Wheel of Fortune, which had quite a few coincidental similarities to Merv's game. A possible visualization of the new BR "timer": This is actually something else that's making a comeback -- last time Wheel used an onscreen timer, it was for the Star Bonus Round in '78. And coming soon, $750 and $1500 return. XD That'll happen right after Wheel posts an American non-Sajak, not- Wheel 2000 full episode to their YouTube channel. /or they fire their crap puzzle writers //and if that happens, I say "dafuq" ///they've got a YT channel, I say dig through the archives and post rare stuff (with slates/plugs/credits intact, if possible, and even if there's cuts) ////and if they do that, we all say "dafuq?!"

Master H definitely noticed something that bothered me as well. Some say that that 3-wedge $500 span in R1 disappeared when actually it is now basically a permanent (at least for this season) fixture, now that $350 is now $500. As with many people, I was frustrated when $700 got the boot down to $500. Not because it was downgraded but because there is only a $50 separation between the two wedges. It might not bother some but it's kinda like... um ok.
Another thing. I calculated the average for a bare layout, (minus Bankrupts, LAT and TD) assuming the wedge under the Jackpot is $500, and its average was $560 ($652.38, $700, $771.43 when including TD's).
Needless to say, it's definitely time to hike up the price of a vowel. I think when I do live shows on campus my vowel cost will be bumped from $500 to $1,000. I think that's reasonable. Besides, it makes FP a bit more valuable than before.
Sorry if it seemed like a rambled a bit much.

You know, even worse, this theme wasn't anything special, premiered last season I think - why is it being reused again right now?

Dunno.
Actually, Sanam, I agree to an extent. Family Week is one I'm fine with...it's become more traditional rather than gimmicky.
(ALSO NOTE: Keep in mind there was no regular Family Week that year...though the whole 10- to 17-year-old Family Week deal might suggest there's another.)

It's just that couples always seem so disorganized. Never on the same page, one person always more overbearing than the other, etc. The entertainment comes from watching how the couples interact with their significant others and takes away from the actual game, IMHO.

You know, that does bring up a good point.
Personally, yes, they do need to rework the couples games. They really need to have the couples choose one person to make all ultimate decisions (and perhaps have the other person spin when person in power says spin).

If they do that, then the partner might as well sit down in the audience and watch. I don't mind the doubles episodes when it involves celebrities/sports figures/whatnot playing with contestants for charity (such as NFL Players Week or something like that). Otherwise...I agree fully. /yet, I hated when TPIR did the same concept for charity week //oh the irony ///dafuq
