You know, even worse, this theme wasn't anything special, premiered last season I think - why is it being reused again right now? So that they can just drag out its set again and not have to build a new one? I agree that the couples episodes usually come off as awkward. Many casual viewers feel the same way. Though the absolute worst thing about them today is the $2,000 house minimum.

I don't mind the doubles episodes when it involves celebrities/sports figures/whatnot playing with contestants for charity (such as NFL Players Week or something like that). Otherwise...I agree fully. Something else that hasn't been used in a decade -- all-celeb shows. Heck, I don't think any shows with celebs have been done in several years. It's just that couples always seem so disorganized. Never on the same page, one person always more overbearing than the other, etc. The entertainment comes from watching how the couples interact with their significant others and takes away from the actual game, IMHO. Wouldn't surprise me if this is the actual point of "couples weeks". Dafuq is my new fave word. You'll be saying it a lot when you watch WATW. Please don't tell me "headdesk" is going to come into play... /and a boot to the head //might be the good "dafuq", though ///if they mention this forum or the Wiki, expect the mass dafuq ////what?

The last celeb show/week was in Season 25 in New York (celeb/contestant teams, of course). The last all-celeb show was November 2, 2000, though they were in costume and their identities weren't revealed until the end of the show. Were there any all-celeb shows before that but after the "Celebrities & Their Moms" week in 1997?

Season 15 had an all-Celebs week. Did not use the Friday Finals.

There was the Musical Greats week or whatever they called it during the early 90's (Weird Al, Gladys Knight, Little Richard, etc.). I have no idea what year specifically but I wanna say between '92 and '94.

He was talking about between 1997-2000.
(And the week was May 2, 1994.)

Kinda hoping it isn't couples. Home Sweet Home isn't couples because that's the theme for my taping. They were auditioning military couples this spring though. We had three couples in our audition.

So if Home Sweet Home is taping 8/24, then I have a strong feeling that 8/23 will be Halloween (week of 10/29) since those two were taped together last year and the week of Halloween is the first week that hasn't been announced with a tapedate yet.

We should start getting boardies to remember to share their week themes along with the tapedate. Anyways, that's decent news, but overall why the hell are the themes so lazy?

Like I said, so they can save money on sets by just re-using them a year later rather than building new ones.

Of course, they could save money by, you know, NOT DOING the theme weeks. And updated the chart on the compendium.

It's because of the art designer. Whatever happened to the graceful-looking sets of Dick Stiles? MarioGS: Don't talk like that about the show staff, OK?

The current sets are far from awful, but they really should just go back to one overall set with special sets only being used for the more special weeks (Halloween, Christmas, College Week, and of course the location shows). In Season 29, only six weeks (plus their sixth episodes) used the generic set. Even then, they try to "spruce it up" by adding the bland backgrounds behind the contestants. The palm trees on Teachers Week look horrible. Hopefully those images won't be used during the show.
Price, Jeopardy, and Millionaire all use the same sets for every show, so why does Wheel feel they need to have some theme for everything all the time and go through the trouble of placing several different sets and unecessarily stretching the puzzles nearly every single show/week? It was more meaningful back in the late 90s when the theme had more to do with the prizes since there was more of a variety in those and it usually involved the non-cash/car prizes in the Bonus Round, but I know they can't really do that anymore. What is there out there now that's more than $30K and not a car?...

I hate to break it to you, but I think the palm trees image was in our week too. The images kept switching from palm trees, to a golf course, to a picture of something that looked like ruins...etc. I agree with the saving money theory. Wheel made a couple comments about how they are "green" while I was there. They reuse everything.

Well, I found another pic of the wheel...although I'm pretty sure this isn't the half you are looking for.

Nope. A few wedges too far clockwise, I'm afraid...Where did you find that, though?
...And more of this "We only show the WOF logo on the video wall when we're not filming the game" nonsense. -_-

1/2 Car looks really generic, is there even going to be the logo on it?
