Good show. No major errors so far this week.
When CDMA is enough for even me to get it (and in this case, just one letter), the BR was pretty favorable.

-Tossups: I'm not sure why Kira was hesitant on the third Tossup. We all know about this for TV broadcasts of sporting events like MLB.
-R1: Very easy as I got it with NO letters showing thanks to the layout!
-R2: I got it before the R's, S's and O's appeared.
-R3: Poor Alfred; he couldn't get things going tonight.
-Bonus Round: Pretty easy; I got it with just RSTLNE.
EPISODE RATING: 8 as well

Our first "two guys, one girl" show of the season. R1: Nothing really worth noting. R2: Jumpy much, Kira? Not that it was a bad thing... R3: What was up with the directing during the Mystery gamble? There was some random cut to the board that lasted like a quarter of a second. Too bad the four Cs were sort of wasted on $300, but there's nothing like picking up the MDW on the last spin of R3! Less room for Bankrupts! ;D R4: Bob was really scaring me when he kept spinning. I was waiting for those bells to go off. I bet one or two more spins and he would have lost the MDW. MDBR: So great to see our first MDBR so soon! Lots of free letters. I'm sort of mad I needed the C to get it. Great win despite not winning the big one, though. This show was very exciting. Not only was the audience great, but so were the contestants. They showed that they were more about having fun with the game than staying too focused. We actually had more enthusiasm in the studio in this show alone than all of last week. I loved how Kira shouted "Hawaii! Hawaii!" as it approached. I can't remember that last time I heard people calling out for wedges. Too bad she couldn't pick it up. Well, now we got the main remaining question of the 1/2 Car tags answered: You must solve the puzzle in the same round as picking it up to keep the tag(s) for subsequent rounds. I also loved the "big" plate that zooms on the scoreboard as soon as one's picked up. I didn't notice that last night.

TU1&2: I had TU1 with just 5 letters - the X really helped. The player's solve of TU1 was a little later than I would've liked to see though. Got TU2 just before the stage player buzzed - it was a little trickier than TU1.
R1: I got it easily with the N and I's, but this round languishes in Dudsville until Kira calls the O. We see early excitement at a Kia tag near-hit; I hope that excitement level lasts.
R2: Like last night, no cash for the Kia tag here - but we get two players each with a half car! Well, really one, because Kira is unable to solve so hers vanishes (good to know going forward). Unfortunately, they also blew several multiples on those and the Hawaii trip. Also, haven't we had this puzzle or something very similar on a recent show?
R3: Mystery Round is still here and $1100 is risked and lost on it. Also, we get a MDW pickup, upon which Bob promptly sacrifices the half Kia to lock it in.
TU3: Took a while for Kira to get it out, but she does get it, barely.
R4(partial Speedup): Not a full speedup, which is shocking considering the length of R1. SO CLOSE to the big one on the final spin, but it's a short speedup anyway and Bob locks up the game. Alfred doesn't even get a turn this round, so his gooseegg is sealed.
BR: FIRST MILLION DOLLAR BONUS ROUND OF THE SEASON! That C was just enough for me to get it, and he got it too! Too bad he couldn't find the million, but at least he was nowhere close to it (it was almost completely on the other side).
Overall: We got the Kia tags hit several times tonight, and a Million Dollar Bonus Round's always a plus. Winnings were just so-so with one gooseegg, but some solid strategic play by Bob to lock up the MDW brings up the rating - I also go 8/10.

Did anyone see the red arrow in the middle of the wheel right after the Jackpot/Prize description? I just noticed that during this episode. Is it always there? I don't remember seeing that during my tapings.

And for the first time season, we have two men and a lady competing... Since this is only the second single player episode of the season, and since matchups with anything other than two ladies and a man is rare in a Culver City single player non-gender dominated field week (such as Armed Forces or a sports week, and on the road for any week it's a lot more common for some reason), when looking at the matchup today, I couldn't help but think that they're getting rid of the two female/one male rule. Not counting all of Wheel Salutes Our Military and its sixth show taping, and the Thursday of Tennis Week, there were only 4 such episodes in Culver City last season (10/26/10 (Pat's 64th birthday), 11/3/10, 3/21/11 (which was all female!), and 4/26/11). And as for before that: Amazingly, Season 27 had only one such episode (3/29/10), while Season 26 had not much more than that, two (1/12/09 (the Monday of the week right after Armed Forces week with the same set, so probably taped immediately after and one of the males happened to be in the armed forces, so that could explain that), and 5/15/09 (an episode I recapped in the Sony boards). And I believe Season 25 had only one more than that, three (3/19/08, 4/9/08, and 5/23/08). Season 24 I believe kept the pattern of one more than the previous season with 4 (I believe it was only 10/20/06, 1/18/07, 4/6/07 (all female), and 4/23/07). Would anyone know if I'm missing one? And remember Armed Forces and sports weeks don't count, nor do any on the road episodes. Anyway, if they did get rid of that rule, I wouldn't be too upset, since I think it's somewhat sexist (and of course getting rid of the rule would get me more of a chance of getting on the show! 1/3 of a chance isn't great odds!) But I'm not thinking myself here, I swear. But sadly, I think that even though none of those were this early in the season, it's just one of those very rare exceptions. Anyway, this being only the second single player episode of the season, do you all think they're getting rid of the gender rule, or is it just like one of those exceptions? In the middle of the round, Kira picks up the 1/2 car plate between $300 and $900 with two N's. After that comes two E's via FP and a crucial dud of L while on the Hawaii trip. Back to Bob who picks up the other 1/2 car plate between $300 and $450 with the R's. Anyway, most importantly, a lot of 1/2 CAR questions answered tonight. As Pat pointed out after Bob picked up his 1/2 CAR wedge, it'd be either Kira or Bob getting the car, so you do have to solve each puzzle where you pick up the 1/2 CAR wedge in order to get the car. But it does lead to more questions: Can more than one contestant get a car if among the first three rounds, two (or three) contestants land on both halves? And if what happened with Kira and Bob happened in Round 3, would Bob have still picked up the 1/2 CAR, or would it have been treated like a $500 space? Also, something that happened when Kira and Bob picked up their 1/2 CARs that didn't happen with Karla yesterday -- before the little 1/2 CAR wedge appeared on the scoreboard, there was a larger image covering the entire scoreboard, like there is with LAT and Bankrupt. I wonder why that didn't happen yesterday. And does anyone know if and when the Mystery Round is indeed moving to Round 2? I kinda hope that does happen, since as seen tonight, R3 more than R1 and 2 I really think does make sense being devoted to Complete the Car only. If that happens, I'm guessing, since joacen remembers seeing it in Fun & Fit, that it'll start on October 24, the first of the six consecutive Halloween shows and the first episode this season to tape.

I don't remember seeing that during my tapings. They've been doing that a lot lately. I think it's an indicator for who starts the Jackpot round — it's probably not supposed to be seen by the home audience, but sometimes the cameras pick it up. I saw it last week too.

I don't remember seeing that during my tapings. Are you referring to this?: www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9-82zwSoIMAccording to one of the comments, some guy who claims he works for the company that installed that arrow said: "WoF had us design an arrow using a laser system overhead to mark each contestant's turn. We installed it last fall. They were having a difficult time with contestants not knowing or forgetting their turn and Pat having to remind them. Our system runs off of the show's lighting and camera cue program, and occasionally their system glitches and forgets to turn off the marker when the overhead camera is switched on."

Umm...I just noticed something weird during Round 2...
Bob picked up the 1/2 Kia tag with 2 Rs after having $0, and supposedly still had $0 after. But then he called 4 Ss at $500 each ($2,000) then bought the Os ($1,750), then solved. So why did his scoreboard read $2,250 after he solved? Kira didn't get any additional money for the tag she got, and even if Bob's extra money did involve the tag, $2,750 would be displayed ($1,000 for the 2 Rs).

I was just coming here to post this.
The Wheel is still on green $500 post-solve, so there was no triple fail most likely... so I'd like to think the operator pressed 5 instead of 4 for the bank, but never noticed. I assume the extra $500, if noticed later, wasn't taken away. Good thing it didn't affect the final results.

During Round 2, I was like "What the?!" when the first letter revealed was a "D" - which seems quite abnormal. But then afterwards, I noticed the category "PEOPLE" and no ampersand was present. So maybe the contestant picked "D" out of assumption that the category was "PEOPLE" while no ampersand was present.
