This episode was a big snoozefest...
-Tossups: I got the third tossups with just two letters.
-R1: I got it with just the T's and the H's! IMO, they should have offered a $3,000 bonus to the solver who can identify the film.
-R2: The first two rounds were pretty boring...
-R3: ...but Debbie was lucky to get the PP to win the game. She should have said M as in MDW instead of the D's.
-R4: The men just didn't have that much luck but I'm glad Kyle came through.
-Bonus Round: I got it with just RSTLNE. This was used before on the April 10, 2008 episode during Season 25. Debbie's first guess of ROUGH CATCH is OK but her second one definitely made NO sense. I don't think there is such an item called a ROUGH WATCH.

I knew that bonus puzzle w/ just the RSTLNE. Not much went right tonight.

I only got to see the show from R3 onward, but I figured judging by the final scores that I didn't miss anything too exciting. Interesting that we have another 2 men-1 woman show R1: There's one of the two new categories. (It's possible Pat didn't acknowledge it because it may have been used during Halloween Week, which was taped first) R3: The increased variety in categories is really showing here, especially for the PPs. Wow! Someone picked up the MDW at the best possible moment again! R4: I HATE when people lazily call the first unrevealed consonant when they know the puzzle without considering the other letters! He could have had $3,100 if he called the B. MDBR: Nice to see another one so soon. ;D Too bad, though. She probably could have gotten it in 20 seconds. I knew it with her guesses. There sure were a lot of penalty spins. From what I saw, the audio crew went a bit overboard tonight on the pre-recorded groans. The audience could have shown more sympathy for the guys' terrible luck. Not too much of an exciting show other than another MDBR.

TU1&2: Got #1 about the same time as Stagey. Nice solve by Debbie to take #2. R1: Movie Quote gets its show debut 4 days after its WoF Live debut (now, if we can just get them to take a cue from us and make it a bonus category). Again, there's a wasted double T on Wild Card to make Kori mad, and it doesn't even get used before Debbie Bankrupts it away. Pretty easy puzzle to get, and this round went a fair bit longer than it should've. R2: I got this one with RSTE. Tim does a lot of work, but he ends up Bankrupting less than $1,000. Debbie gets slightly over the house minimum, but with the Mystery Round and Prize Puzzle coming, it's anybody's game for sure. R3: Nice to see the semi-rare Headline crop up - not nice for Tim to start with a Bankrupt though. But after Debbie duds and Kyle Bankrupts, he gets control back just in time to pick up the Kori, I mean, Mystery Wedge . Tim's unfortunate Lose a Turn gives Debbie a shot at the MDW, which she promptly locks in by solving. The trip gives her a solid but not insurmountable lead, while that $10,000 wedge goes backstage till next show. An interesting note here is that for the first time, no one picks up a Kia tag in the whole game. TU3: Kyle gets on the board, and there will be no gooseeggs tonight! R4 (Partial Speedup): Kyle works hard, and it would be nice to say he gets the perfect round to get back in the game, but Bankrupt KO's any chance at that statement. Tim adds some cash, but it's only enough for second place. Million Dollar Bonus Round: Interesting choice to pick the Y (which doesn't pay off), but her H was enough for me to get it. I could've swore she'd said ROUGH PATCH but it must've been CATCH I heard. She was about a quarter of the wheel away from the million though, so that lessens the pain. Overall: Our second MDBR of the week, but this was a VERY low-scoring game. In fact, without the Prize Puzzle, our winning score would be LESS THAN $5,000 ($4,650 to be exact)! Only the MDBR has me rating this as high as 3/10.

It was an okay episode. My first episode, I watched, of this season was ok, at least I saw the MDW in action. My first post. Woo.

A really sub-par game spinning wise (just $1450 over minimum) and a pretty crappy BR performance. Ick.

I'm surprised he didn't mention that Movie Quote is new. He always does that with new categories.

Surprised to see Movie Quote. I thought it was said that TV Quote would be a new category.
Disappointing bonus round loss. It seems like she would have gotten it had she had a couple more seconds. At least she didn't pick the million.

I'm surprised he didn't mention that Movie Quote is new. He always does that with new categories. Keep in mind that the week of shows we're on right now was not the first taped week of the season, so that may be why Pat didn't mention anything about Movie Quote being new.

I don't really consider "Movie Quote" to be a new category, to be honest...I consider it more of a variation of the already-existing Quotation (just like TV Title, to me, is a variation on Title).
Also, while these shows are taped out of order, this is from the third taping session. The only unaired shows taped before this week are the Halloween ones...and they knew well in advance that the Halloween shows were going to air well after ones taped after that.

Two more things on the BR as I looked at it again while entering into WOFTracker:
-Y wasn't a good call. You don't premeditate that call blind like Debbie seemed to, you look at the puzzle to see if it's a possibility. -This was one of those sneaky half-PHRASEs - probably more of a PHRASE - that went under THING. I really dislike this.

Like Tuesday's episode, this panel has two men and a woman competing... God I really PRAY that the fact that this has happened as much as twice in four single player episodes this season means that the two women/one man rule has stopped! As soon as I saw the contestants at the beginning of the episode, I couldn't help but cheer! There's nothing about this game which suggests that females are better at this game then men are. (And yes, it would get me more likely to be on the show, but I SWEAR TO GOD that's not what I'm thinking.) Do any of you agree with me on this? And do you happen to know if any later episodes this season (interestingly enough, all of which are single player and in Culver City) have anything other than two females/one male? Or sadly, is this rule continuing, and there are two very rare episodes with two males/one female, and they happen to be both in the first single player week? Also, it's amazing that the two of the three weeks to have two MDBRs are both with the same theme, exactly a year apart within the first three weeks of the season, and even though with a slightly different name, the same exact theme week! Also 4 years ago is the anniversary of the day I went to a taping of the show and met Pat and Vanna!!!!!! God they were both fantastic! (In case you don't know, it was of People Celebrity Week at Radio City Music Hall in New York where I live). But even on this anniversary, when I'm thinking of the gender rule changing, I'm not thinking about being more likely to be on the show so I can spend more time with them. I'm really pointing out that if they did get rid of the rule, it's great they realized that males, and not just me, are just as much fans of this show and are just as good at this game as females are. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let the rule have stopped and not let this be two unbelievably rare exceptions.

I didn't want to go off-topic but is anybody getting annoyed of Nicky's sexist remark about two men and a woman competing in an episode? Also, I've noted that he's being too demanding for the second time about something. UGH.

I missed last night's episode so I'm only just getting to this now, I'll comment as the episode proceeds. First Two Tossups: Didn't et either tossup again... but I didn't see the need for the hyphen to be in between WILD and GOOSE... Just started watching and I have to say, Movie Quote isn't easy or fun to me. Round 1: The T on cardboard craze is relentless... at least there were only 2. Didn't like that second Bankrupt, I thought a contestant spun when they knew it for once! And you know, there were two Ys up there... should've spun. Believe it or not, I got this one with just the Ts and Hs! I take back what I said earlier about Movie Quote. Hang on a minute... no bells? No question about which movie that quote can be heard? Round 2: That G call was a bit weird... was he thinking ING? Even then, N would've been a better call. And I was hoping for Yellow to go Bankrupt with this sloppy gameplay, and he did. And the Blue player going for it a bit was good. Round 3: Alright, Headline! Great to see that in play. I was thinking the I would be a dud and I was right and that made my favorite contestant so far today get to spin. The Yellow guy really needs to learn how to adjust his finesse and spin power... that Lose a Turn was bound to happen. There were three Cs... but she had the MDW, so I'd say it's alright. Third Tossup and Round Four: I thought that tossup was FRONT-RINGER... I'm really slipping. I can't believe more players favor O over I sometimes... I doesn't help often. How come Yellow didn't pick the B? So far, unless there's a $1,000,000 win (or loss), the rating won't be high. Bonus Round: Again with the I... it won't help. I got it about 2 seconds in, but I knew she would't get it. Episode Rating: 3/10Overall View: Not an exciting episode at all, a ton of wasted letters and sloppy gameplay. I'm hoping tomor... tonight's episode is a lot better.

Okay Andy, I'm sorry if what I said sounded too harsh. I just wanted to bring up an interesting moral issue, and I'll work on making my comments on this board seem a lot less harsh. If any of you could indulge in this moral issue that I believe they finally realized this season, I would so greatly appreciate it. But if you all really feel like what I said about it was too harsh and you're not interested, I'll stop talking about it, and I won't say anything, even if unlike up until last season, we continue to have anything other than two women and one man in any episode, whether Culver City non-gender dominated field week or otherwise if that's really what you feel is wrong, and unless and until I hear it from any of you, I SWEAR TO GOD I won't say anything more about it.

To be fair, I actually think nicky was fine - Wheel has always had 10 women, 5 men in a week since I started watching daily again in '08, and if they finally relaxed on that, that would be good. He's not cheering men over women, he's cheering an apparent removal of a silly rule.

I'd be reacting the same way if it had always been 2 men one woman, or (god forbid!) all male. I'm stating really that I actually don't favor either gender, and the show shouldn't either, and if they remove this rule, that's why it's a blessing. The rule was more than silly; it was just offensive to the male population, in my opinion. So let's hope they realized that and removed this rule.

He's not cheering men over women, he's cheering an apparent removal of a silly rule. Nicky's opinion was fine. The way he made it was not. Though I really don't see it as a "huge moral issue". It could just be simply that the contestant pool has twice as many women in it then men. I doubt the show is deliberately putting on more women than men just to be sexist. (Of course, I haven't seen the numbers for sure...but accusing the show of having a sexist policy is a bit ridiculous.) We're done on this topic. Okay? Move on.

We're done on this topic. Okay? Move on. That's fine, but since you said this interesting response, could I please just answer that? Nicky's opinion was fine. The way he made it was not. I'm sorry about that; I'm not the best at phrasing. But I'm glad you liked my opinion! Though I really don't see it as a "huge moral issue". It could just be simply that the contestant pool has twice as many women in it then men. But if that's the case, and it just so happened that there were exactly twice as many woman than men in the contestant pool, how come, at least up until last season, we didn't see let's say one episode with two men/one woman and the next all female rather than start this silly rule? And interestingly enough, of all the rare exceptions, I've only known of three all females since Season 22 -- October 6, 2005, April 6, 2007, and March 21, 2011. Now I'll gladly close this topic unless one of you responds to this.
