Let's let him make a little speech and then meet our teenage spinners, solvers, and shoppers...

Keith Black: 15-year-old roller-skater who has visited every state but Hawaii
Stacie Stahl: a tennis enthusiast who won awards in her younger years

TITLE
Jim gets the first spin under Pat's watchful eye, and it comes up to the Free Spin space! After taking the token, he spins again and hits $200 times three for the T's, but Bankrupts the $600 away. Keith takes his first turn now, hitting $200 and almost repeating the T, but he changes to N at the last moment and still loses his turn (it's a dud). Stacie is KO'd by her K call on $150, so it's back to Jim, who has rotten luck with R on $100. Keith will try again and pick up $150 for an S as the very end of the line. No G though, so it comes to Stacie again. She hits a nice number with $600 but doesn't hit any H's so her turn ends quickly. Jim gets $100 courtesy of the L but misses on the M. In comes his Free Spin, but out goes his money as Bankrupt comes up next. Keith duds the D looking for $100, passing things back to Stacie who runs into Lose a Turn. Jim may have broken through - he gets a $200 W, $500 C, and the F for $300 (which is the last consonant)...

TITLE
and he names the book A TALE OF TWO CITIES and will go shopping with $1,000!
Duds: N (Keith), K (Stacie), R (Jim - Free Spin not asked for), G (Keith)
More Duds: H (Stacie), M (Jim - Free Spin used), D (Keith)
Bankrupts: Jim x2 ($600 - Free Spin not asked for, then $100)
Lose a Turn: Stacie
Retired Bank: $150 (Keith)
Jim is the day's first shopper, and he'll be going to the Entertainment Center. His purchases are the $370 stereo/radio/cassette player, the $315 movie camera and projector, and the stereo cassette player for $180. $135 goes on a gift certificate.

ROUND 2:
Top Dollar: $1,000

_ _ _ _ _ _
PHRASE
Keith will have to watch his step as he opens the second round of play, as there is now a second Bankrupt out there. He spins his way safely over to $250 and triples up on T's! His next pick is on $200 and it's N as in "none" so we move on. Stacie finds $550 but misses with M, while Jim successfully lights a $600 R, $300 S, and $450 H in short order. Next comes $800 for a D, but with $2,150 in hand, he and the others must turn their backs - it's commercial time:
_ _ S T -
D _ T _ H
_ _ _ _ R T
PHRASE
Coming out of the break, it's still Jim's turn, and he buys the first vowel of the day in the A. Just staying out of Bankrupt, he flips two F's for $250 each and an L at that same amount...
L A S T -
D _ T _ H
_ F F _ R T
PHRASE
Jim extends his lead with a correct solve, but it's not a LAST-DITCH EFFORT when we're still mid-show! He won't care though since $2,650 is his!
Duds: N (Keith), M (Stacie)
Retired Bank: $750 (Keith)
Jim gets to shop again, this time in the Gym... and he passes on the hot tub, which would have been $2,195 and well within his power to purchase. Instead, he picks up a lot of other items: some roller skates for $260, the $189 trampoline, the $175 books, towels for $115, tote bags for $108, the exercise cycle for $240, decorative accessories for $310, a $110 food processor, a $250 exercise rower, and a hamper for $44. In other words, he buys every other prize in the showcase, 10 in all, and leaves $849 on a gift certificate while poor Jack Clark is forced to talk for over two minutes to describe everything that was bought.
Jim: $3,650
Keith: $0
Stacie: $0

ROUND 3 (FULL SPEEDUP):
Top Dollar: $2,000
Final Spin Result: $900

_ _ _ _ _ _ _
PERSON
It comes as no surprise to anyone that the final spin opens this round - all money won will be awarded as a savings bond since there is no time to shop. Stacie begins this round by striking out with S, which lets Jim sweep in and take two T's. After his competitors both miss (Keith with N, Stacie with M), Jim grabs an R but still can't put things together since all three letters are on the bottom line (his guess of LINDA RONSTADT doesn't fit). Keith can't grab a G, but Stacie doubles up on D's...

PERSON
She denies Jim the sweep by naming musician EDDIE RABBITT for $1,800!

Jim: $3,650

Stacie: $1,800
Jim gets to go for an extra prize in our relatively-new Bonus Round!
