It was discussed last month; I was present, I just don't remember all that transpired. I mean, I remember some stuff, but the mods don't want anyone to know just yet. I got that, and I understand wanting to be subtle when Sanam goes on the show...but you can't know how to go about being subtle during the taping because the name's going to change between then and mid-September -- reference WOFL in some way outside the green room, it's outdated if it manages to air...and you can't be subtle about the new name unless it's revealed prematurely here, so nobody looks dumb*. /*yes, I know it's kind of failing on my part Had to delete some stuff out of respect and because some things are not meant to be public at this point. I'll leave it at that. -MarioGS

Two more days! How excited are you, Sanam? Have you memorized the Wheel layout yet?

If anything, maybe she can elaborate when conversing with Pat during the breaks. I'm pretty sure Pat knows about this site. Remember Jared from last October? He did a Q&A on Reddit and mentioned how Pat asked him how he chose his BR letters (BGHO). When another user asked him the same thing, he mentioned this forum. Oh, and Sanam, be sure to tell everyone in the green room about this place. Could we get a link on that reddit interview? I think we'd all have interest. Not only the experience itself but the site stuff, too. Also, ditto on spreading the site address, cu, Guint, Mario, etc. have my permission to tell Sanam the site's new name; via PM, the rest of you will know around the US Labor Day. That way, she doesn't look like a jerk by giving a dead link. My strategy? Note the wheel is 72 spaces, or 24*3. As some have said, see how spaces your spin goes, based on starting spot. For instance, if you start in the middle of the 2500, and your spin ends up in the same spot? A perfect '72' power. Left or right, one left or right? 71 or 73 power, respectively. The power itself refers to how many pegs your average wheel spin will be; typically average 3 spins to get a decent sample size- it's usually when I can tell any player's next spin value and/or if there was an edit or null cycle. This is huge for knowing whether ir not to spin again. With it, you can tell if you have enough power for that cardboard/sparkly cash or even a penalty (Bankrupt or LaT) space. You know about avoiding common letters on cardboard, and if not someone else can explain this to you. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is if BGHO fails. It's a lot to think about in 10 seconds, but if BGHO fail think about words with Is, Fs, Cs, and possibly As. That seems to be the backup set. I can not say it enough: study past puzzles! Most of all? Have fun. At worst, a free grand, at best a millionaire. Side note to mods- kidding or not, Daniel's post was okay; I'd likely do half those myself. How am I typing this? Kindle- had to see you all some time. Since there's the outside chance I may not get the chance to post until after the taping, kill the hell out of that budget, girl!

Looked through that, and I noticed this rule:
"No mentioning of what company you work for unless it is a non profit, no logos on shirts etc."
WOFL is a non-profit site, isn't it?

Well, it's based off of ProBoards, Inc. I don't know where they stand.

What about something like this:
"I would like to give a shout out to all of the Wheel of Fortune Lovers out there for all of their support"
...or something like that. They wouldn't suspect that she is mentioning a website, but rather a group of fans that have been supporting her.

I'm not gonna lie.... This is all so overwhelming! Honestly going through that damn compendium freaked me out. There are way too many puzzles. I work full time and I feel like there aren't enough hours in the day!
Not even close to memorizing the wheel.
I'm kind of freaking out.

Don't worry about the puzzles in the Compendium. Lots of those puzzles (at least the older ones) will never be used today (or will only be used for toss-ups and the Bonus Round) due to various reasons. As for the wheel, it helps to look at things one section at a time (for example, coming off the Bankrupt by Free Play is 9-3-5-9-3, coming off the MDW you see 5-3-5-6-TDV). As long as you keep in mind what's coming up close by and have a rudimentary awareness of your spin power, you should have no trouble with penalties. We've seen your skill, Sanam... we KNOW you'll do great. Just get out there and show the rest of America!

Don't worry about memorizing the wheel or looking at the puzzles. Just stay calm and relax, you don't want to be too stressed out for the event.

. . . Not even close to memorizing the wheel. I'm kind of freaking out. Am I missing something? Why are you trying to memorize the wheel? You'll be looking at it every time you reach to spin it. Just look for an open area to aim for, avoiding anything with a black or white background, don't even bother looking at the values. This is based from wheelgenius's season 29 wheel. I'm sure if something has changed for season 30 someone will correct me.
Also here are some not so obvious things that no one else has mentioned yet. Make sure you're wearing something you like. If you decide to record your episode (which I encourage you to do) and you're wearing something you don't like, you might regret it every time you watch it. Before you tape your episode, run through any family members' names you want to mention in your interview. With the added pressure of the lights, I'm sure the last thing you want to do is forget someone's name on TV. And most importantly...

You're not allowed to aim the Wheel. You risk disqualification and you will be asked to spin the Wheel again without aiming (and the original will be edited out). The bbest you can do is just put a little more or less power into it so that you have a good idea of how far it will go based on your average spin power.
