Well friends, my election day episode is almost here! I've gotten confirmation from ABC that it won't be shown in my area due to election coverage. Does anyone know any sites online that will stream the episode?

Unfortunately, most of us are being pre-empted. ABC, CBS, and NBC are all airing election coverage starting at 7pm Eastern. On top of that, since CBC no longer carries the show, I no longer have an alternate feed, either.
Which leads me to something important- if any of you gets Wheel outside of one of the normal viewing windows, or on a station that's not affiliated with either of the Big Three networks (FOX isn't airing election coverage until 8, FWIW), we could use your help! We still need a recap done for that day, so if you can help, drop me a PM. Consideration will be given to long-standing, active site members who we like.

I do know that the Cincinnati station that airs Wheel is now FOX, and some people here get it, so if I can get in touch with someone who has it, I can try to whip something up. No guarantees, however.

At the latest, unless the coverage runs long, Wheel will air in my area at 2am, and I can do backup upload duties the following day (but it may not be until Wednesday night).

I live in Chicago, and if for some reason ABC coverage of the election postpones Wheel until sometime after 2:00 AM, I can tape it, but cannot upload it in the quality that Wayoshim can.

I get WOF on FOX in my area. I already have it set to record, so if everything goes as planned, I'll upload it to YouTube (or some other video sharing site) as soon as possible. I haven't seen my work schedule yet, but odds are that I'll close that evening, so the upload would be around midnight.

I just heard from Kev that the networks' national news are going to do election coverage from 6:30-7:30 tomorrow, so that's going to wipe out even more people...

Call me crazy, but what if a Tuesday episode is replaced by a rerun?
I remember their sister show Jeopardy back in 2004 when Ken Jennings was ready to break Kevin Olmstead's record($2.18 million) during the election week. But because of it, the Tuesday episode was replace by a 4000th episode (it was on 3:30 when the news was not on yet), probably to keep viewers from missing it. I not sure they did a same thing for Wheel.

Sorry to hear your episode's gonna be preempted in most of the country, Kate. It really is times like this that they should give you a copy of your episode. Although, I've been thinking something else; maybe they'll rerun your episode over the summer?

I feel really bad for you, Kate. The show really should send you a DVD of your show since they know it won't air in most of the country... I'm guessing that would depend on how much she took from Harry's wallet. maybe they'll rerun your episode over the summer? You want her to wait seven months to see her episode? That's almost as bad as Wheel recording episodes in July that won't air until May! Besides, they have a YouTube channel and they're not doing anything with it -- classic clips/episodes, up there; that not-for-air Lottery Winners show from last season, up there; episodes they know are going to be pre-empted, up there. Why is something so obvious so difficult for them to grasp?! Oh, right -- effort and misplaced priorities. |

I don't even think they rerun more than one sixth show week during the summer anyway, so the chances of this week getting reran are pretty low, same for a Saturday next year.

You want her to wait seven months to see her episode? I definitely wouldn't want that; I apologize if that's what it sounded like. It would've been a lot easier, though, if they rescheduled it for later that day, even late night if they had to. Or better yet, post it online somewhere. Or even give her a copy, since her episode's one of a few episodes that get preempted like this. |

I'm hoping mine does end up in a rerun at some point... it definitely would be fun to see it on TV. But yes, it would seem that after doing this for so long, they would plan to just show a rerun on the few stations that will air it on election day. But alas, it isn't so |
