Happy Hump Day, Wheel Watchers! Scott here, filling in and rolling out your Wednesday recap.
EPISODE #5698 - MILITARY FAMILIES, SHOW 4 OF 6
==============================================================
$1,000 TOSS-UP - PLACE:
_ _ _ / F _ R C E
_ A _ E
The blue team of Shereka and Demetrist rings in first but blanks out. Right on their heels are the red pair, Geneva and Tim, who recognize an AIR FORCE BASE when they see one and pocket the cash!
==============================================================
CONTESTANT INTERVIEWS:
Geneva & Tim Daniels are tonight's first military team. Geneva is in the Navy as a Mass Communication Specialist, Third Class, essentially a naval journalist. She works at Naval Special Warfare, documenting and writing stories about the Navy SEALs. Tim is a sales and service representative who keeps the home fires burning in San Diego (though both are originally from New Jersey).
Estela Sagredo & Sara Eslava are sisters. Estela comes from Chula Vista, California, and is a sergeant in the Marines, serving with the I Marine Expeditionary Force as an administrator though she has previously been deployed to Afghanistan as part of the Female Engagement Team. Sara comes from San Diego, where she has been married for almost seven years and has a set of one-year-old twins.
Shereka & Demetrist Booker came all the way from Fort Bragg at Raeford, North Carolina, where they live with their son Demetrist Jr., to play with us tonight. Demetrist is a 2nd Lieutenant in the 108th Air Defense Artillery. He's been a part of the Army for nearly six years, including a couple deployments to Iraq, but was only commissioned as an officer in the past year. Shereka works in the mortgage and title department of a bank and also runs her own jewelry and accessories business.
==============================================================
$2,000 TOSS-UP - PERSON:
_ A N D S _ M E
_ E _ I L
Shereka thinks her signal was first, but Estela and Sara get the nod, solving HANDSOME DEVIL for the lead and the right of the first spin!
==============================================================
TONIGHT'S FEATURED PRIZE: Azure Condo at Fort Walton Beach - $6,200
ROUND 1 (JACKPOT ROUND) - BEFORE & AFTER:
The two sisters get to start the spinning and stop on the gift tag (which is $1,000 online shopping spree for Shark floor-care products), grabbing it and $1,500 with three R's. They'll add $1,400 more with a couple S's, then buy the triple E. Around comes the Wild Card, but this team is tripped up by the T. The Bookers hit the former home of the gift tag, getting $500 each for a pair of N's. They purchase four I's, offsetting the cost with a $900 L...

Retired Bank: $2,650 and the gift tag (Estela & Sara)

ROUND 2 (MYSTERY ROUND) - SHOW BIZ:
The Bookers start this round after solving the last one, and it's a $400 N to start the tilt. Four E's are a good buy, but the Bankrupt by Free Play is less welcome as they lose the other $150. The Daniels duo has their first chance to spin, and they won't waste it... after the three $500 S's, they will rake in the cash with a spin of $3,500 times FOUR R's! They buy the lone I, then hit another nice number with quadruple T's on $900...

==============================================================
ROUND 3 (PRIZE PUZZLE ROUND) - PHRASE:
Geneva and Tim get to spin with the lead as we enter the Prize Puzzle Round, and here comes $3,500 again! Two N's make a $7,000 start and more than enough for a trio of A's. After a $900 D, though, the left side of the MDW claims that $7,650 and their turn. Estela and Sara get $1,400 for two T's, then buy a couple I's and an O, but they Bankrupt beyond the top dollar to lose the leftover $900. The Bookers think they know it...
A / _ I T T _ _
_ _ _ T / A N D
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ A T I O N
but A LITTLE REST AND RELAXATION doesn't fit the board - they lose their turn. Geneva and Tim try to rebound from their earlier Bankrupt but bounce immediately into the same one Estela and Sara got. Spekaing of the sisters, they hit up $350 for two L's before buying a quartet of E's. Then it's all consonants with three R's for $800 a pop and a $700 S...
A / L I T T L E
R E S T / A N D
R E _ _ _ E R A T I O N
A LITTLE REST AND RECUPERATION is in order after all that spinning, and Estela and Sara will be resting in MAUI! That trip takes them to the Kaanapali Beach Hotel courtesy of Hotwire and is worth a whopping $10,210 - when we add the $3,550 from their spins, they rolled up a total of $13,760 for the round!
Bankrupts: Geneva & Tim x2 ($7,650, then a lost turn), Estela & Sara ($900)
DQ: Shereka & Demetrist's blown solve
PRE-TU3 SCORES:
Geneva & Tim - $19,850
Estela & Sara - $15,760 cash and trip

=============================================================
ROUND 4 (FULL SPEEDUP) - ON THE MAP:
FINAL SPIN RESULT: $550 ($1,550)
The Bookers try a T in this speed-up cycle, but it's not there. Likewise, the N comes up nasty for Geneva and Tim. The sisters break though with four S's on the bottom line and mumble about Mississippi, but they don't make a solve attempt. Shereka and Demetrist try to check the N again, with predictable results, and the Daniels duo are robbed by the R, sending it back to Estela and Sara. They pick a pair of P's to go to $9,300 but try a city in the wrong state when they attempt BRANSON MISSISSIPPI. The Bookers mark up the M at the front...
_ _ _ _ _ _
M _ S S _ S S _ P P _
and lock up another $2,000, as their $1,550 is boosted to the house minimum when they correctly name BILOXI MISSISSIPPI.

DQ: Repeated N by the Bookers
Missed Solve: BRANSON MISSISSIPPI by Estela & Sara
