R2: I knew they would fall for the V trap. The exact same thing happened back in S28 with the same puzzle, except with CORNED instead of ROAST. You could actually hear people in the audience reacting to "No V" with surprise. R3: Another case of repeating a puzzle and changing one word. An early S26 episode used AWESOME instead of SPECTACULAR. They love their adjectives. Again, that Bankrupt was predictable. Spinning the WC spot, then top dollar, then spinning again is a recipe for disaster. R4: Oh, look, a full week of full R4 Speed-Ups. BR: I had GOOD POINT at first. Lucky H call. Sears plugs start already? Dang it, blue team. I wanted to see whether the wedge would have given $650 or $500. Ugly Bankrupts tonight. In fact, if the 1/2 Car tags were used, the blue team would have gotten both on their first two spins of R3, then of course Bankrupted them, and that easily would have set a record for largest "Bankrupt trash" in one night, at about $43K. There was a lot of potential tonight, but unfortunately it ended up being the typical "PP winner wins game, 30K in the BR" shows. Blah. Rating: 3/5 Average Rating For This Week: 2.8

R2: I guess I could see why the sisters called the V (at first I thought the first word was OVEN as well), but I would've called the W, C, or H if I were them.
R3: Lori & Martin could've easily had a really nice round here. I like that they used the WC on top dollar (even though the S would've given them a lot more money), but seeing them lose all that money was pretty painful; I would've solved it then and there.
R4: Nice solve by the sisters! I started feeling bad for them, but good to see that they finally got a puzzle under their belt!
BR: At first I thought the answer was HEAD COUNT with the RSTLNE. Came up with GOOD POINT while they were calling their letters, then I had the right answer after their choices.
An average episode overall.

R2 has a repeat way too close to it - CORNED BEEF instead of ROAST BEEF in June '11. Let's please be better about those repeats...
I'm pretty frustrated these maingames topped out at 19850. We had giant PPs every time for God's sake! I guess I'll take 3/6 in the BR and go home.

The Villas made the right choice to use the WC on $3.5K late in the round, but their subsequent Bankrupt afterwards hurt. And we had a similar mistake from the last time OPEN-FACED ROAST BEEF SANDWICH was used, except that in tonight's case, it was because calling for the V was a dud.
I was thinking GOOD for the first word of the bonus puzzle.

Next season, make the Sears wedge purple, people. It wouldn't hurt. After all, purple's also a good holiday color.
Now in round three, when Martin called the P and spun again, I was hoping he'd land on $3500, but no! Das Bankrott! I'll betcha had he called the S, he would've known it, and we would've avoided another set of "Gleaming White Sand Beaches."
Now for the two bonus rounds, I got "High Point" after the H's as you might expect, but for the retro bonus puzzle, I was awfully close. I said DIZZY instead of GIDDY. Had the D been called, I would've had a better chance of nailing it.

R2: Not having seen the similar instance of this in 2011, I also fell for the OVEN trap.
R3: Double-facepalm moment. One for not calling the S with the Wild Card, and another for not solving the puzzle and hitting the Bankrupt afterwards.
BR: I also thought it was GOOD POINT at RSTLNE. Sean and Valerie did well in picking the H.

Regarding the recap itself...it's definitely a different style, Guint, but I found it a bit difficult to follow (the colors in the tables and the tables themselves are really unnecessary IMO) and really cut-and-dry since there's no commentary. I managed to understand what was going on, mind you, but it just doesn't seem to have any heart. (Nothing against you personally, Guint -- I'm not like that.) Other than the recap being different...I'm glad this week's over. There was a lot of potential tonight, but unfortunately it ended up being the typical "PP winner wins game, 30K in the BR" shows. Blah. At least they won the game of their own merits, and managed to foil a difficult bonus puzzle.

Ugh, too much adjacent non-regular spaces in the "$700/Free Play/$650" part of the Wheel. And a V trap on the Prize Wedge.

I also had GOOD POINT at first.
Why wasn't TU2 Movie Title? Because it was a book too?

R1: Not a bad round for the Melcherts, but I definitely would've gone on for the D's.
R2: Oh boy, there goes a big five-figure opportunity for the yellow team after finding the right MW. And I definitely remember this puzzle from S26. I made the same mistake of saying OVEN-BAKED back then but I didn't fall for it this time.
R3: It was good that the Villas used their WC on $3,500, but a bad idea of not choosing the S's and going BANKRUPT nearby. Like Ryan, I definitely would've solved after using said piece of cardboard.
R4: At least the blue team avoided being gooseegged.
Bonus Round: Like others, I thought it was GOOD POINT, but I got it w/ the chosen letters. BGHO would also be a helpful combination and good that the winners of this game nailed it.
